I’d say Amulet of Shadows is the most OP item you can get in the early game. Allows you to steal everything from the Vivec Great House vaults, Ghostgate, not to mention you can evade enemies, sleep around enemies, and still complete actions without chameleon disengaging like invisibility does.

At around 7:30, the reason you were having so much trouble with the merchant is that you had failed to make barter offers several times. As you fail to make barter offers with merchants, their disposition goes down. Thankfully, this isn't permanent, and all you have to do to reset their disposition is close the dialogue with them and then interact again as normal. You never had to bribe them, you could have just left the chat and started it up again.

I have well over 10k hours playing Morrowind since it came out. I think my #1 "must have" early on is the Boots of Blinding Speed. As long as you have a resist magika 100% spell on self for 2 seconds, you can cast that then quickly equip the boots, retaining the positive effect (super speed) without the negative (blindness). You do not need to keep casting the spell to not get blinded, just each time you put them on. You can buy a resist magika spell in Seyda Neen at the traders then make a 100% resist spell in the Balmora Mages Guild.
If your resist magika spell isn't 100%, then it will make things darker. 50% resist magika makes things 50% darker when you equip the boots vs normal vision, 100% resist your vision doesn't change. If you only have 10% resist magika, you can run around and not bump into stuff maybe, but things will be very dark. If you don't have a resist magika spell, you'll need to rely on the minimap to move around since you will be in 100% darkness.
I try to not use this in fights, since there are way better boots to wear if you aren't trying to be the Flash. It is very useful, however, for traveling to places without fast travels available and it not taking 20 minutes with only low lvl enemies (damn lil maggots...) to kill in between with no real loot.
My biggest gripe with Morrowind is the vast emptiness I must travel through with no enemies or loot. These boots let me traverse that vast emptiness in record time without cheats. I don't even consider it a Glitch to use 100% resist magika before equipping cursed gear, I think the devs gave us all the gear to use, and some needed a little figuring out.

I dunno if it's possible for someone to come on as more of an all-around good dude than you! :) Thanks for helping me delve, once more, into this game, with these series and into the world of TESC with your rare but great lore videos! I believe that there is a spectrum in game design that ranges from balance all the way to variety and... well... it's pretty clear where MW lands hehe. It's broken and that's kind of the point. It's really a feature. Imo it has mainly to do with the world *truly* being open, unlike... say - FallOut New Vegas (love that game), where the high level enemy placement + Hi-Lvl spawn points + zone transitions of the oblivion gamebryo engine, funnel the player into a more controlled player progression. Morrowind said screw that and I love it for it. Cheers mate! ;) :)

4:06 Had this in Balmora and Ald'Ruhn with both Silt Strider travel guys. I also found out, that the NPCs in Morrowind have an idle animation, where they kinda very slowly step sideways and that's how they fall off their plattforms.
So yes, this can happen to anyone after a lot of playtime with one character.

    • @glassramen
      @glassramen 10 месяцев назад

The silt strider operator in gnisis has done this for my current character (but did it really early on so they sit at the bottom of the cliff) and the boat captain at vivec now sits in the water, and the strider operator at balmora is on the second level of the stairs. It's really hilarious, but when you have the boots of blinding speed, and high acrobatics, it throws you off since you get a sort of muscle memory when going to travel, such as arriving at vivec by strider, then going to the boat to go to ebonheart/anywhere else.

I've always said Hla Oad as "hLaa-Owed" vs your "H'la-oAhd"
and always said Khuul as "Cool" vs your "Cull"
Since next to no voiced dialogue exists in Morrowind, everything is up to the player's interpretation to decide what makes sense
I guess my philosophy with most of them is to go with either an East Asian or Pacific Islander approach for most of the very unfamiliar ones just because of the parallels in emphasis of cultural traditions and tribalism that exist with the peoples of the land

    Constant Effect
Fortify Agility 20 pts on Self (left)
Fortify Strength 20 pts on Self (right)
Found in Ilunibi (northwest from Gnaar Mok), Soul's Rattle section, behind the trough on the western side of the large room to the northeast (next to the Sixth House bells). These are the highest rated gauntlets in the game. I recommend being at least level 8 to get them.

I think you can find the Pilgrim's Lantern on the ledge about the guy you kill to get the Lord's Mail (at least I've found one there and requires Levitate). Granted it's a lot harder to get that one than the one above Khuul, but I never knew there were 2 of them.

Denstagmers ring is a tribute to a forum user who passed away before release of the game. Found this ring organically and wondered about the origin of its name. I also carry Bryants ashes.

I prefer grabbing the bow of shadows early on vs that ring. It's just north of the zainab camp & i always end up going there early for merc training anyways. Only need 1 ekash scroll to get it & has the extra enchant of increased speed. Helps zoom around late game with the ten pace boots & the high speed you (should) have by then

Every time a buy or sell fails the merchant's disposition lowers.
This makes it so you have to increase or lower the price by quite a lot.
Lets say there is a item, and the Merchant wants 100 septims for it. You haggle for it to be 90 Septims, it fails, now you have to increase it to like 115 Septims to make him/her accept the deal.

Love the videos. Morrowind was THAT game for me that changed my whole outlook on video games, especially RPGs. Playing thru again first time in 20 years. Question - are you using the boots of blinding speed in your videos? Also to clarify once in the water while the lantern is lit and it's gone forever?

If you don't mind some tough battles and and you aren't planning on doing the mages guild quest line you can grab the Necromancers amulet which constantly gives you a massive 25 intelligence restores 1 point of health 25% spell absorption and last but not least 25% resistance to normal weapons. That isn't all though. If you think you can take down a vampire you can grab Marara's which constantly gives you 20% reflect fortifies acrobatics 10 points and last but not least 40% resistance to normal weapons which can stack with the 25% normal weapons resistance from the Necromancers amulet to give 65% resistance to normal weapons which happens to be the most common types of weapons in the game. Which means a lot less damage being dealt to you against most enemies. The reflect and spell absorption also help against mages as well. Granted these are some tough battles but if you know how to pull it off they are doable at really low levels with preparation.
