I just started playing ‘22 and the pitching was confusing. I haven’t played a baseball games since ‘10. This was by far the best explained video I found about pin point pitching. Thank you so much.
@@JustAwesomee yeah some pitches are suspect using pulse but most of the time you can dot pitches up. And thats with low overall players. I imagine with 99 overall players pulse would be even better
I know im late but try to get them to take a strike, then throw a ball just outside and try to get them to swing at it. Just make them chase for fastballs they shouldnt swing ag
Depends on the situation. For example if you get the batter on 2 straight sliders in the strikezone they will certainly chase at one Thats just outside it. And even if they time it right, they will miss or get weak contact. Or if you focus on the outside corner, up with a fastball, a good knuckle curve can get them diving at the outside corner, even if you let it dive into the dirt. Pitching is about understanding what batters see your pitches doing (in terms of break and location) and when they see you do it. You can ALWAYS get them to dive out the zone on this game. Just really take your time and think out your pitch progression
Watching this over a year after posting as just a casual player who enjoys mlb but always have sucked at it. Was always a pulse pitcher because I dont play much and it was the easier option of learning. Never understood pin point pitching till this video. I'll give it a shot. Thanks man
I've been absolutely dotting with every pitcher I use in BR with pure analog. I honestly don't see the point in learning a new (extremely difficult) pitching mechanic when it feels like they finally fixed pure analog. Great video though Koogs, as always! 👍
For the moment yes right now Analog is still the best way but i bet at the end of may the will do whatever it takes to Fu-c-k Analog to force people to use pinpoint
I don’t know why exactly he was talking about the small blue circle bc i’ve never noticed it. Just bring the analog down whenever the Pitcher is about to release the ball
Coming from X-Box, this may actually be the one I learn from. The last MLB game I played was MLB 2k11 and I have gotten familiar with the pitching in that game. The only real difference I see with this is there is a third motion with the analog stick. Usually in 2k you do the first motion (like down for a 4-seam) then move again when the circle is full. Thanks for the tips!
I noticed some improvements after taking off my right stick kontrol freak, also never really noticed the release point being timed with the size of the circle so I can't wait to try it out after watching this, Thanks Koogs!
I knew there was something that I was missing and I found out what it was thanks to this video. I really like this pitching mechanic I have used it before but I think this is a little better. Hell of a video nice job.
I was about to give up on Pin Point Pitching . Then I saw this & in my humble opinion its the One that explains it the Best!! Im a complete NOOB (with caps) I struggle hitting at Rookie 😅 & rely so much in Pitching (veteran /All-Star) and this has helped me A LOT !!
Pinpoint pitching is definitely way to go. I hated it at first and kept switching back to analog. Now I feel like I can dit consistently. Never going back to analog
Dude thank you so much I literally didn’t even notice the circles getting smaller with the timing I didn’t know what I was doing LOL I’m new but it’s awesome and thank you so much
Don’t worry about the circle moving. Focus on the pitcher. As soon as the pitcher is about to release the ball, that is when u release it. Makes it Wayy Easier
I’m sure there are other videos explaining this. You were the top video and I’m glad I watched Koogs. You did a great job going step by step through the process. I was able to get consistent perfect pitches, thanks.
For anyone needing to know (not sure if it’s because of the update but you can add 5 pitches to your pitch types...go to your bullpen training and scroll all the way down and it shows “Add (pitch type) and then your character learns it
I was in trouble because I didn't know the correct operation method for pinpoint pitching. I'm not good at English, but the easy-to-understand explanations helped me. Thank you very much. (This sentence was created by Google Translate)
Great video! Question: can u manually curve a pitch or is it only done by: time & accuracy || ie (Using Fastball): if i aim left but "throw" right would it curve..
Just tried and got pulled in the first inning. Hahaha. Have always had a heavy thumb which has made it difficult to play a lot of games that need that light touch.
I’m an Xbox player new to the show since this is the first year it’s been on here so I think I might take advantage of this and learn it since I don’t already know the 2 other picthing controls.
Thanks for the tips! I’m actually XBox owner who is very excited to finally get a baseball game to play. As a complete newcomer to the series, do you think I should just dive in and learn pinpoint pitching? I don’t anticipate doing too much online play, but you never know.
Super helpful, I didn't know about the blue circle getting smaller so my timing was always off and I had no idea why. I can get 2/3 perfect and still the ball will be on the opposite corner of where I placed it. Why is that? I feel like I would have more success on meter.
Is this turned on or off during the game? I just started franchise, first inning had this.. watched this tutorial, thought I should go practice, so i exited, then came back and now its the "normal" pitching
'Sup People, I'm currently playing RTTS with a starting Pitcher / Outfielder combination. (4FB, Knuckle-Curve, Slider, Cutter, Circle-Change for those who are interested :P) After playing this game for quite a long time, as a pitcher and fielder, I've realized that the pitching-side of the game can get somewhat monotone after some time. I don't know if it is possible but I think it would be awesome if you could change the API in-game depending on what kind of Line-up you're facing on the mount. I know you can shift the defensive positioning of the fielders, but the AI's Pitch-sequence calling has always been the same and I don't think I know what the focus of those sequences is. could be the most efficient pitch calling but I don't know for sure. What I would like to see is an ingame quick menu for different sequence priorities, like for example "most efficient", "Strikeout", "Groundball", "Flyball". Each setting would let the AI call for pitches that would result in either of those aforementioned results if the Pitchers execution would be as close to "perfect" as they could be. That would also somewhat help if you're playing as a catcher, since you have to have some actual understanding an knowledge of pitch-calling, otherwise you're just randomly throwing pitches without understanding why you currently do what you do. If you can't picture what I am talking about, then you can take a loot at the FIFA games. By using the Cross-arrows you can change the tactical setting of your line-up during the game. Offensive shifts while in Ball possession and defensive shifts like everyone falling back towards the own goal in Situations where the opponent is in possession of the ball. I don't know how they would go about implementing something like this but I think it would make The Pitcher/Catcher Gameplay in RTTS a lot more interesting. Sorry for the Big-ass text but that idea has been nagging at me for quite some Time now :D
So from personal experience so far, i find hard pitches like slurve to be easier than fastballs when guys are on base lol. Like getting my breaking balls out quicker
The thing that’s hard for me on pint point is that unlike meter, you just hit x and the balls stays in where you positioned it, with pint point you have to start using the analog stick before you can take your right thumb of the left stick and that throws me off. Anyone got tips on this?
It's going to take awhile for me to get used to pinpoint. Pinpoint is definitely the upper advantage for competitive, but like I said it's going to take awhile. Meter is still my go to, but if I have time to get practice like let's say when I'm doing stuff on conquest, then I'll definitely do it.
Yeah i need help with it too. Mine wont let me go past it the first time and come back. When i go past the first time it stops and i cant get perfect. Its annoying.

I thought I knew what I was doing the whole time lol... I never did the last motion not even once😕
Lmao fax shit was pissin me off bruh
Same lol

Reminds me of the pitching in the MLB 2K games where you would flick the stick in a pattern according to the pitch break and movement.
I knew my years of playing skate would come in handy!
facts
Tip: every pitch starts with a straight line after that line finishes take a little pause then complete the motion.

These are some pretty cool pitching mechanics. Really makes it skill based
You can manipulate it to throw broken pitches

I'm excited to try pinpoint but know my terrible-ass is just gonna end up going to pulse lmao
Not even pure analog ?
Honestly pulse isn't even that bad again in this game.
I’ve already gone back to pulse and I’ve been playing great since. It’s really not that bad I always say use whatever you’re comfortable with.
@@JustAwesomee yeah some pitches are suspect using pulse but most of the time you can dot pitches up. And thats with low overall players. I imagine with 99 overall players pulse would be even better
Why pulse over meter? Meter seems to give the best control in terms of velo and accuracy. Pulse doesn’t do anything for velocity. What are the pros?
my issue is i cant get people to swing at balls, then when i throw in the strike zone they get a insta homerun
I know im late but try to get them to take a strike, then throw a ball just outside and try to get them to swing at it. Just make them chase for fastballs they shouldnt swing ag

Do you use Kontrol Freaks for the pitching analog? I know they're great for hitting.
How do you add a 4th pitch in rtts? I can't find the options anywhere and I just finished first yr in the majors.
How do you keep the red part up to aim where your pitch goes pre pitch?
How are you getting your pitch placement to stay in one place instead of vibrating all over the place
Thanks I had no idea about moving it back down!
Is there a way to slide step effectively on pinpoint

Awesome video Koogs, thanks so much
Splitters and forkballs are ridiculous to get timing right. Can you do a vid on those ?
Thanks coming from an Xbox player I was so confused at pitching
Split/frk definitely the hardest but I noticed the most important is the pitch
Are you using the left stick still? Like during the right analog motion do you still hold the left stick or no?
Where you can buy MLB the show hoodie?
I didn’t realize you held at the top. I was not pitching well at all!
I was giving too many walks and throwing a lot of wild Pitches 😂
At the end of the motion, do you just realize the right stick after holding, or do you flip the stick down?
Why do ppl seem to like pulse over meter? Pulse doesn’t take velocity into account unlike meter, right?
What camera do you use?
