bro i legit forgot about the old death mechanics.... ur so right. in early osrs there was a server dc and i died at zammy and lost 20m lmao. RoT was server dcing people at corp so they could run in and loot all their items, thats part of the reason they changed the mechanics.

My mom bought me 3m back when I was 7 (I didn’t even know it was against game rules my friend who rwt’d told me to do it) and I had 70 attack and probably 60 defense 50 strength and the two of us died and couldn’t even figure out how to get back without our climbing boots
I was training with a gmaul and a dark bow, figured since they had higher requirements, they were better than rune scim and msb lol.

It’s crazy to think if I trained one account from 04-07 I’d have an account like that, instead I was doing what most pkers started off doing, creating a level 9, 13 magic fire strike account for varrock multi, if you know you know OG’ers.
I mean that was peak content in 06-07 to be fair.
Also at 10-12 years old getting membership from your parents was no easy feat I think that's why most of us weren't in GWD. We semi-stuck in f2p.

Brother doesn't know about the classic days where magic didn't affect combat.... level 75 magic on a level 13 in a 3 turn lock combat.. lmao oh and you could cast as fast as you could click, so if you could click your spell and the enemy 5 times in the 3 turn combat lock. you'd be able to pull off the 5 hits
@@Dannykid8 nah I played classic, it’s just a different type of pvp, old school rs days of pking were the one man, that feel was something else, f2p with rune scims pink skirts, old school days haha.
@@JackzstaH It was the same in classic minus the combat being slightly different, R2H pures with monk robes. the only reason scimitars became popular is because attack speed variations were added in OSRS making the scimmy do more overall damage even though it hit less, otherwise you still would have seen r2hs everywhere.

I remember being in Lummy and seeing a guy in full dharok walking near the general store. The massive axe and the strange colour of the armour confused me as all I knew was bronze to rune, and I’d maybe seen some people with the occasional dragon item.
When I asked him and he told me it was the next tier above dragon it blew my mind. It became my goal to get the levels for the armour one day.
Last year I got my first Torva piece from Nex (platebody). How times have changed.
I still think dharok is the coolest looking set.

I don't remember doing gwd on release but I remember not bringing my firecape to bandos because if you died you wouldn't have time to loot it (no gravestones) and jad was hard content back then 😅. Also I never did Sara back then because who the hell had 70 agility back then?

it is a little lame that everything is min/maxed by the 2nd day of release, but thats kinda just the nature of a 20 year old game. these guys were ahead of their time and considered sweaty as well. Realistically they were just in their late teens when everyone else was 10-12 years old

I was lvl 80 combat with d scim, d long and dds as my bank. I was woodcutting to 99 wc saving up for dragon axe which was like 3.5mil. Didn't have the gear or stats to do GWD day 1... took me a couple years. Holding a Godsword those days meant you were rich af.
I remember being in awe anytime i saw anyone over lvl 100 cmb, id go to the shantay pass and see dudes in full veracs fire cape killing kq. Around 2005 i was garbage.
Damn sosolid2k, that guy is an absolute RuneScape legend. To this day still my all time favorite player that made content. His max hit videos back in the day always amazed me.

I remember world 1-2 varrock West Bank was the “GE” scamming rune scim trades with iron, free trim. I remember pking with my group and got update forced log, to log back in and not be able to attack anybody was a trip. Didn’t read any update and just scoped around wildly, stumbled upon C-wars close to the Hill giant and ghost spawn, also salamander spawn at varrock wild, and just confused at everything. BH release ruined my experience, I was into massive clan pk’ing it was big at the time my Clan GPZ (Golden PkerZ) then the community ended up making BH pking somewhat worth it but at the end of the day. I felt like that was the update that ruined RuneScape in general

I was deadass there. I don't specifically remember being there on the day of release but I had been playing since 04 on the same account and farmed the piss out of Bandos for weeks after launch. Bandos masses were insane and I remember when they introduced Loot Share too lmao

I remember day after day release, I traded my whip and obby cape for 2 of the shards and not even a hour later, traded them for a full infinity set which was like 16mil at the time.
I remember day 1 of GWD release, i was a merch noob that had just got a whip, some random came up to me in cammy bank and asked to trade d boots for whip. I agreed and then flipped the d boots for 4m. day after i bought my whip + d boots for the same price, that shit was so crazy in 07.
