    @bennco pulque is right. It's a teflon sheet with heat resistant tape. I also use the tape to hold down my transfers on windy days. As for pressing the shirts, I have automatic presses that I can adjust the pressure on. I haven't really had that trouble with the collar. The teflon just makes it easier to clean the iron. Try having the collar just outside the pressing area. I do that on hoodies. Hope this helps.

    Love the Vid's Rich. Thanks for posting them. I've learned so much just on your setup that I want to do already. Don't think I'll ever get the script down like you do however lol. But we can try : P I hope to have my setup going by next year. I have 2 setups to do in the fall this year. Then I plan on turning on the heat!

    Well let me just say every show has it ups and downs. This particular show is good to me considering there are 6 other painters. I make a comfortable living. In this 10 minute video I do about $200 . Thanks for watching.

    Hi Takayla. Yes I do make my own stencils. I have a program that allows me to design my stencil. Then I take a piece of thin poly carbonate material or acetate and cut it on my vinyl cutter. You can find poly carbonate at almost any plastic supply place. Get the thinnest they have. I get them in 2'x4' pieces. I cut them down from there to the desired size. Hope this helps a little. Thanks for Watching.

    What up Cyber! No kidding, LTNH. The thing I used is called a spot gun. It's like a mini power sprayer. I put acetone in it. It works great with dried paint. I use it when I get stubborn scabs in my tip. It knocks it right out. Here's where you can get one, silkscreeningsuppliesDOTcom/screen-printing-spot-cleaning-gun.YT won't let me put a url. It will also remove most stains from shirts, that's what it's made for. Look into it. I can't do without any more. Good to here from you, take care. TTYL

    @knittycakebaker This is actually an old set up. I had this before I had a trailer. During the spring season I use my tent more often and during the fall I use my trailer. Thanks for watching it's greatly appreciated.

    And THAT, kids, is how you make money! You're waaaaay faster than I ever was when I hosed shirts in Gatlinburg in 1988! Fast, easy designs that sell, super quick one-stroke lettering....you've turned it into entertainment with that kind of speed--very nice work!

    • @littlesweets3390
      @littlesweets3390 8 лет назад +1

      Do u still airbrush, or have u holstered your guns?..I go to Gatlinburg all the time

    • @sped17373
      @sped17373 8 лет назад +1

      Oh, sure, I still airbrush....it's just virtually impossible for me to work Gatlinburg now.....for starters I'd have to spend a fortune buying all new gravity feed guns for hosing shirts plus all the hoses, quick-disconnects, spare parts, quarts of paint, etc.....right now all I have are 2 Iwata HP-CH's, 1 CM-C Micron, and a couple of Paasche VL's and ya really need a gun for each color. Do you go to Gatlinburg to airbrush?

    • @littlesweets3390
      @littlesweets3390 8 лет назад +1

      +sped17373 No sir...I've been taking orders online thru a couple of places...done a couple flea markets...an a couple small festivals...kind of easing into it..lol....those Custom Microns are really nice

    • @sped17373
      @sped17373 8 лет назад +1

      When I arrived in Gatlinburg in early March '88 I had only ONE Paasche VL airbrush....had to save each week's earnings and buy more guns and all--back then we could buy three bare-bones Paasche VL's for $100....then hoses, bottles, etc. I later learned that (back then) it was highly unusual for an unknown artist like myself to just start right off in Gatlinburg--normally artists started out working in Pigeon Forge and then worked their way up to slinging paint in Gatlinburg when they were good enough. So yeah, excellent for you if you can get to squirt shirts! Have you got any of your work online that I can see?

  • @nuwavedesigns
    @nuwavedesigns  13 лет назад

    @Autopsy76 Sorry it took a while to reply. But yes it's called a spot gun. You can find it where they sell silk screen equipment. Michael's or Hobby Lobby might have them. I put acetone in it and it blasts the scabs of paint out with a quickness. If you have a frozen brush the spot gun will clean it like new.

    Sears Craftman 6 horse power 20 gallon. Although all you need is a 1 horse power 3 gallon. I only use a big one so that it doesn't come on as often. Thanks for watching.

    At it again Big Man! - Looking good.. Coupla questions for you. I see that you have some sort of fabric or pellon taped to your heat press that you use to set your paint.. What material is it and what sort of tape do you attach it with? I would think that the heat would melt any sort of tape..

    freakin mind blowing! you deserve a break my friend! curious to how much a shirt is..(trying to estimate your time vs. income on 10 minutes lol

  • @bennco11
    @bennco11 13 лет назад

    Also - When I set my paint on my shirts, If I keep the shirt on the board, my press has a hard time actually putting pressure on the areas around the collar - this is due to the fact that the collar is a bit thicker than the body of the shirt. - So the body of the shirt right around the collar doesn't really get pressed down. Does adding this fabric on the iron help this? - Again, thanks for posting - Love seeing the working side of this.

    Is the humidity bad there? And does it affect your paints? It is kind of bad here and it causes all kinds of hell...I have 4 water traps in line..and a separator..still have water on bad days(which are frequent)... also, do you still sell the feather flags?

    • @nuwavedesigns
      @nuwavedesigns  3 года назад +1

      Humidity is bad at times but I've never had trouble with it. The heat might give me a little more tip dry than I would like but that's about it. Very, very rarely do I get moisture in my line.Yes I still sell feather flags. Thanks for watching.
