Thank you so much for this video. I lost my reel in the lake for a few days and wanted to take it apart to regrease it. This was lots of help.
I dont know how old for sure my first one of these reels are . But , can tell you I bought it when the reel was first introduced . 20-25 years ago ? I am still using it . i have bought around 15 more since then . The whole family has been using these reels forever . We have only had one stop working properly and it was dropped down a steep bank . I have bot tore it apart to work on it because we still have about 12 at my house alone . Also have new ones hanging on the wall still in their package.
I'm part of the familly , right?!! 😀😂
Joke aside, i was wondering ( before i order one ) if the drag sounds like a metalic "bicycle bell" or its a "plasticky" sound ?
There is nothing i like more than to ear that "metallic bell" sound when the bass is pulling some line out ! Thanks.
@@MxRyder19 , I thought of making a video on these reels . I did some counting . I have 42 . 36 are set up on rods . The rest are new in boxes .
The drag is a click followed by a bell vibration noise .
I caught a 9.5 lb trout with one of these reels with 4 lb test in Febuary .
The drag was singing . I had the reel nearly stripped clean of line 3 times before the fish tired out .
@@LovingIdaho Congratz on that big trout ! I found a vid on youtube where you ear the drag and its just like you described wich is what i'm after ! I esitate between the fx/sienna models or this one... Do you know if the quality diff. Is worth it ? Thanks
@@MxRyder19 , I have 2 fx reels that I have had forever and they are still working . They were fairly cheap on the price too.
I have never had any of the sienna models .
I use the quick fire trigger a lot for casting . It makes it nice when I am in the kayak with on hand paddling and one hand casting .
