Holy cats! That WAZER, that Shaper Frame ...... Just wow. Fantastic. And I love that you include your mistakes in the video, I can't imagine how many people, like me, that that helps.
"So, getting down to brass tacks. . ." It's so amazing to see the accuracy of the nozzle cutting that tiny hole. Then the "line" itself. If not for the mistake we wouldn't have seen that it can cut it paper thin like that. "There are no mistakes, only happy accidents."
Beautiful work Karl. You’re just a great machinist. And your new machine is great. Not for a novice. I know Elliot’s Model A will be awesome . Thanks for sharing! 💯👊👍
Great video Gentleman. Love to see Elio's panhead build and it was great to hear the way he determines handlebar shape/height as that is the way I teach people. Video can never really show how shiny you made that brass.
Awesome stuff! I just wanted to mention that I left a comment to Scott at Coldwar motors that you guys should get together and do a patch panel show down and share some tips and tools etc. He replied that you look like a very busy guy and he would leave it up to you for doing a vid together! I Think it would be awesome if you guys could get together and share some tips and tools etc and pound out some patch panels!!! Viewers like this comment if you think It would cool for these fellas to share it out! Thanks for sharing!!!
Man, that would be so great! I'd love to do something like that. Collaborating with other RUclipsrs is always a great time. I love Scott's work and his personality. Maybe I can make a trip out there sometime! Would be great to do this collaboration in person
Amazing walk thru of some crazy tech! Love how you and Elio are purists, but not afraid of exploring new processes! Gorgeous brass accent! Share some pictures of Elio's choppers and a big yes to a Halfass thrash on the roadster! Go Japhands and Elio, keep moving forward!
Tell Riley I said, "hi back atcha." That Shaper Trace Frame is great. I hand sketch all of the time in my architecture practice then have to redraw the final design in the computer. I wish they made a larger one but I could get a lot of use out of that tool.
One thing that makes polishing small pieces like these so much easier is to make a simple fixture to hold it. It’s nothing more than a board with two nails. The nails go in the two holes. They should be just a tad bit shorter than the brass is thick. This allows you to really put pressure on the part against the wheel. The more pressure you can apply the better the polish. Without the fixture the parts can catch in the buff. It’s amazing how the part is in your hand and in an instant it’s flown over your shoulder and hit the wall on the opposite side of the shop. The nails just keep the part from sliding off the wood. Also, as you are polishing, pulling the part towards you is cutting, moving away is buffing. That’s why you see polishers dragging the part up and down. In our shop we use Tripoli (coarse) followed by a white right and then a green rouge for the final color buff. For the buffing the best results are gotten by keeping the part hot as you move through the grades of compound.
Polish with a right angle grinder and roloc discs with red scotch Brite pads, some Flitz, makes it new money. I did aluminum frames on motocross bikes to a shine shine. Buff to mirror finish.
Try taking a picture of the pieces themselves, in the frame. I have had good luck with this. Also, I have put the frame over my laptop screen, and taken a scan of the screen, and converted to a DXf file, with accurate results.
You really need a Beaumont mental works KMG grinder with all the attachments for finishing parts like that. You'll be amazed at what a good belt grinder can do with a good range of belts.
Used this method with a 2jzge gasket to make a custom two barrel carb mount. Was planning on building a NA 2j for a high rev drift build with a three duce style intake set up.
Great job you guys. Something I’m just going to throw out there and I realize it’s a stretch but there is a guy near me here in Michigan in the States He has a lot of model A parts! Body panels and at least a dozen flat head motors. He’s getting older now and realizing he’s not going to get it all built. He has a lot of stuff that is just going to rot away!! If that’s something you and maybe Brent might be interested in it could be something to consider a road trip for
Your probably not to happy about your little mishap but Im pleased you made that mistake. As when you were tracing round it I was quite curious on what your picture took from the like because of it cut the outside of the line and your thing you traced round was the exact size the whole thing would be oversized. Just goes to show how accurate that is though
Whenever I buff small parts, I drop a moving blanket on the floor underneath the wheel to grab parts from ricocheting off the cement and across the shop. Your parts generator is two steps away from a Star Trek replicator.
You can take pictures and create SVG with most image software. This product allows items to be captured at a known scale and like he showed you get the choice between centerline or outline.
I’ve had that shaper frame for over a year and have never gotten it to work! The centerline makes sense now!😂 did you have to buy the software subscription or are you using the free version?
What would happen if you just placed the parts on the paper, put the frame around them, and took a picture? Would it recognize the parts as "lines"? Like could you skip the tracing and just use the part itself in the picture? Would be interesting to see if that worked.
Elio did you double take of your twin @cornfield customs and Karl did you see Keith Fenner and his WAZER. Thanks for your videos, always entertaining and informative. Jay
So in the process of drawing it , would it not come out slightly bigger due to the thickness of the marker. Would be more accurate if if it could just capture the image itself. Having to draw it also gives room for human error.
I should probably try it, but my thought was that the shadows of the lights against the white paper would blur the edges perhaps? But I really don't know cuz I haven't tried yet LOL. We'll have to do it
Dewalt. I got rid f my Makitas because the batteries are crap-kept dying. I build film sets and my crew beats on dewalt gear all day long, grinders, drills, bandsaws, etc. The dewalt tools get used day in day out, and they just work. Milwaukee M12 die grinders are also pretty sweet.
If you still have that ultra thin strip of brass, I'd be curious to know how thick the micrometer says it is. Also, be careful with that thing if it's as thin as I think it is. If you're anything like me, every time I have ever cut myself on anything brass in the machine shop, no matter how well I've cleaned it out, it's gotten infected. I dunno what it is about brass, but that stuff is nasty. It does *look* nice, though. :D Also, I'm super jealous of your Wazer. :D
5:35 - "Hey, where would be a good place to setup this machine that sprays water at high pressure? I know, how about 12 inches from some outlets and an open circuit breaker panel.'
I’m concerned that there may be some breakage at the points where the holes go through the brass parts and the pins go through . I hope I’m wrong we’ll see it’s just a learning experience and it can be changed.
Bus Grease Monkey is using Harbour Freight battery tools think their called Hercules brand he's totally happy with them and he's pulling wheel nuts off buses and pulling suspension part off.
Do you collaborate or are friends with any wood workers? I doubt that thing strip is too usable in your field but a wood worker or epoxy guy...program your size ro the inside, cut both and have nice strips to add to some furniture 🤔🤷♂️
Always a heater in every group. I can be jealous of his toys without being jealous he has them. I am happy for him. You can make the same leaver with and copping saw with a jewelers blade and a drill. Even less if you just put some thought into it. Do you also go whine at your neighbors because they drive to work in a nicer vehicle
Holy cats! That WAZER, that Shaper Frame ...... Just wow. Fantastic. And I love that you include your mistakes in the video, I can't imagine how many people, like me, that that helps.
Thanks for watching! I always try to show the whole process and hopefully it's helpful. 😁

Hahaha will do!
A touch of class, nice going guys
Just a thought. In those holes, put a steel/ss sleve in them for longevity. Make them out of tube rod, or old bolts.

Thanks for all the tips! You're really bang on with making a bit of a jig to hold. It would have been made it so easy
like father like daughter, only I would rather a knuckle, enjoy Bronnie, I'm truly happy for you.
The combo of ShaperTools & SendCutSend is pretty amazing for us not equipped with a full shop.
Totally!
L0oks spectacular. Be safe and stay well.
Woohoo! Make it Kustom time!😊
Great video guys! Keep'em coming!
Dang guys, awesome as always!
Nice to see a clean and organized ship.
Man, I haven’t been watching as much RUclips lately and I have evidently missed a bunch of stuff on this channel lol. Whole new projects in the shop.
That is an insanely fast time to turn out a custom part. We ARE in the future! lol
Yeah when I think back 10 years this was definitely not an everyday easy thing. It was for only for a very special occasions LOL
Absolutely love it. It's all about the details.
Fenders keep it from looking like a buggy. Sweeeeet brass!
Wow frickin awsome, Is technology
Awesome content
Thanks for another , Brother !
Polish with a right angle grinder and roloc discs with red scotch Brite pads, some Flitz, makes it new money. I did aluminum frames on motocross bikes to a shine shine. Buff to mirror finish.
_Milwaukee_ all day ~ EVERY day!
I think Santa brought you a new toy. Look forward to seeing more water jet parts. I loved that frame and photo for drawing the part.
I love your work !!
Fantastic video as usual! Thank you!
Cool bit of art work, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, Wishing yous a Healthy and Prosperous New Year
Thanks Donald. Same to you and yours!

Milwaukie hardcore!
Lots all in the detail
Thanks for the breakdown and showing the process.
Is there a way to add a spot so it when it opens, it does not touch the paint?
Yeah, maybe I can do something with the hinge itself to make sure that it doesn't allow it to go that far
You really need a Beaumont mental works KMG grinder with all the attachments for finishing parts like that. You'll be amazed at what a good belt grinder can do with a good range of belts.
That brass shape would make a great door handle… just round edges
I would love to see some videos about the Corolla!
Real nice
G'Day Riley
Fenders yay
Awesome.....but looked like it didn't clamp very tight..???

Yes Sir!!!
Nice Video.

It will be tarnished in a week
маленькі, але чудові дрібниці :)
Do an episode on the choppers please😅
New sub here love your work
Welcome Jack and thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the channel

Yeah how crazy is it that it actually cut out an actual lan haha
Whenever I buff small parts, I drop a moving blanket on the floor underneath the wheel to grab parts from ricocheting off the cement and across the shop. Your parts generator is two steps away from a Star Trek replicator.
I don't know why I've never thought of that. Good idea lol
You can’t just lay the parts in there and snap the pic?
it needs a line to work. grey the software might have problem to deduct.
Good question. Worth a try. Maybe you can clean it up in the software.
You can take pictures and create SVG with most image software. This product allows items to be captured at a known scale and like he showed you get the choice between centerline or outline.
I done think the edge detail will be as crisp as the tracing. The 3rd dimension of depth could perhaps blur the edges
Y'all are dangerous, I am probably stopping by Rockler to buy this thing next week. :-D I was curious, have you used this for plasma cutting as well?
I’ve had that shaper frame for over a year and have never gotten it to work! The centerline makes sense now!😂 did you have to buy the software subscription or are you using the free version?
I'm just using the free one! Lol stoked that helped you!
@ ok thanks! I’m gonna give it another try
oh yeah the new toy i like it a lot !

My thoughts also, read my comment
It would pick it up, but perhaps the shadows of the depth of the part itself May blur the lines of the edges
DANG!
Crafty B used to offer just the cap you are doing. I just happen to have one for my next project.
Yeah his caps are incredibly cool!
😊👍
Mais ➕ um episódio pra conta
Do you add a clear coat on the polished brass? Everything I polish dulls out again over time.
I don't. I usually just let it tarnish and polish it when I really want to see it shine LOL. But yeah, I've heard of people coating it in locker
Hey why didn’t you use your beveling tool from kb tools for that job you could have put it in the vice to hold it.
It is very hard to find tires for 14” wheels. Super easy to find tires for 15” wheels if you want to stay diminutive.
Elio did you double take of your twin @cornfield customs and
Karl did you see Keith Fenner and his WAZER. Thanks for your videos, always entertaining and informative. Jay

What happened to the 38 Lincoln???
Coming soon!
If you have a flat part like that to duplicate, is it even necessary to trace it, or could you just take a picture of the part in the frame?
I should probably try it, but my thought was that the shadows of the lights against the white paper would blur the edges perhaps? But I really don't know cuz I haven't tried yet LOL. We'll have to do it
How much you want to bet the company that makes those gas caps will be offering those pieces in brass as a option now.
Can't beat the old Japanese made Makita batteries . . . Google where your favourite brand is made today
Yeah some of my friends have DeWalt and just love them

I’m not a metal guy but I would be worried that the brass would be to soft for the long term use in a cam lock
The 32 needs fenders.
Yep, definitely getting them
👍💪
Would you repair my Ufo. Two holes on the hood and one leg missing.
Bus Grease Monkey is using Harbour Freight battery tools think their called Hercules brand he's totally happy with them and he's pulling wheel nuts off buses and pulling suspension part off.

Brass is just copper and tin.
I hope this channel is not going where many others - handwork is gone and we are just looking scanning, cad, printing, cnc,...
Guys, their not motors, motors are electric. He has an engine, engine, engine, not motor. Please get this term correct.
All that time to cut, drill, file, sand, and polish, and you're gonna put it together and just walk away, and not give us a 360° of the results?
Can understand you need to promote products so I'll come back when you continue with the off-roader
Waste of time
$19,000 water jet... sure anyone can do it... I used to like watching you actually make parts... moving on to someone else..
He’s jus playn wid his toyz…
Always a heater in every group. I can be jealous of his toys without being jealous he has them. I am happy for him. Karl and Elio are constantly fabricating...but also exploring and sharing new and old techniques and tech. It's called growing.
One can always use a service like SendCutSend to source the material and cut out the parts - without owning a waterjet
The video did seem like a Ad for the Waterjet.
