Great video! You really captured why it's so important for drivers to have great route knowledge when its foggy like the start of your video was, though It's one of my favourite conditions to drive trains in really puts my route knowledge to the test! Liked and subscribed :)
I am 72 and did 37 years in 11 different jobs. I started as a Signal Box Lad, then a Guard at Manchester Victoria, moved to Manchester Piccadilly going to Euston 3 days a week, the other days were 4 trips to Glossop or 3 trips to Buxton or Liverpool or Chester or Sheffield Midland. On 3rd January 1977 I moved to Machester Control working my way from Assistant Controller working through grades A,B,C,D and E and then in May 1994 I moved into Management and retired in March 2007 in Middle Management.
Donny's my favourite, one of those consistently good places since I was a kid. Want to go and check out Barnby Dun crossing, looks like a great place to film. Got a trip planned to do an overnighter for a vid soon!
Fantastic quality video of a very busy line 👍🏻 In 2022 my wife and I bought a new build house at Barton north of Preston with the West Coast main line in the back garden 🪴 😄
I love mornings like that. Thanks for your efforts!
Cheers Alasdair, glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
🌫 Have a great new week!! 🌫
That's very kind, thanks! Same to you.
This is literally the best train video I have ever seen in my life
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it 😆
Thank you. Brilliant
Cheers Andrew, glad you enjoyed it!

My pleasure mate.

Thanks a lot mate, it’s incredible you guys can have such great knowledge to be able to drive in those conditions as though there’s no fog at all.

Hell of a career mate, not much you didn’t do through BR and into the privatisation days by the sounds of it!
Wow that really was a fabulous assortment of trains, thanks very much indeed.
My pleasure John, thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video mate one of my spots I've been going , but not been for 7 months. I used to go very frequently. I like Doncaster ATM so go there.

Brilliant catches there!
Thanks mate, not bad for an impromptu trip out.
@@DiggleJunction yeah it looked nice there!

Thanks a lot mate. Sounds like a fantastic spot, very envious! You'd be out every two minutes filming if you did a diary like mine haha.
Great stuff, keep ‘em coming!
Great video😄😄
Many Thanks Michael, glad you enjoyed it!
Another nice one, thanks.
Thanks Bill, was a good day out. My toes are just recovering ha.
💜💜💜💜 Tom from Hungary.
Many Thanks Tom, all the best.
Excellent video, nice to see a class 47 in action.
Always great to see the old BR green 47's. Thanks a lot!
Acton Bridge is always Brill.thanks mate.ash in carlisle.
Can’t beat it! Cheers Ash.
Good effort, cracking video as per usual 👍
Thanks a lot!
Great footage, those 43s are quite often on that Network Rail mk2 set, it's since Colas took the 43s on.
Ah thanks for that, doesn't seem to look right without the mk3's. Good to know it's a more common occurence.
@@DiggleJunction you're welcome, I know, it looks odd with mk2s but I like it, it's different
@@HSTPaul yeah completely agree 👍🏻
Can't beat a bit of Acton Bridge if you catch a good days freight.
Definitely agree, only been over a few times but need to make it much more regular.
So you guys use the dpu also for heavy freight in the back I thought it was only in United States for heavy freight I was wrong great video
Thanks a lot mate, yeah we share a few similarities on the freight 👍
Hi great video! Where is the footbridge at Acton bridge please?
Thanks Stu, my favourite spot at Acton is the second bridge down from the station (South) and the field that it crosses the line into.
At the start I was going to suggest a wooly hat with prequisit bobblr, but Isee you have one -one fprthe camera then?
Haha I had to take it off for a bit. I had so many layers on I was sweating after the walk from the station to the bridge!
11:30 113 Visibl cars but I think 136 Total. Leme know hat you think.
Haha dammit I was hoping someone wouldn't make me count. I got 136 too but hard to tell with the double deck wagons. Let's call it 136!
Thanks, and is it me or did the titles stay on screen just a little longer…or maybe my reading is improving!😂
Haha a comment on my last video may have made the change 😂👍🏻
