I know this relates to most people when it comes to ending a romantic relationship but this song brought me to tears thinking about who I was before I was diagnosed with cancer. The last 2 years going through chemo, losing all my hair, having a double mastectomy, and so many others things that changed the person I used to be the lyrics to this song hit me in a different way. Almost like I had to say goodbye to the person I was and grieve her. I am now cancer free but at times I feel so lost trying to figure out who I am not while sometimes missing who I used to be.

I relate to this song so much when I listen to because I believe it perfectly captures the thoughts and feelings of my ex girlfriend who left me nearly 8 months ago. We were together for 5 years. She was my first and only love. She broke up with me in April. It destroyed me. I tried to accept it at first but I couldn't, especially once I learned that immediately after leaving me, she was seeing her "best friend" she'd been talking to every night for many months before breaking up with me. She lived with me for 3 weeks after the break up before physically leaving. One of the last nights she was here, I basically begged her to try to work things out with me. She looked down, put her hands on her head, and asked me, "Why are you doing this?" I said, "Why am I doing what... asking you to stay when I know you won't?" She shook her head yes. She was from a narcissistic family and now she is showing her colors and now I realize this was secretly happening for 7 years. I feel betrayed. My mom just finished the divorce all because she is narcissistic and she is trying to control me my brother and father but we resisted. And I have to sit through this to protect my brother (i made a promise to protect him). Thankfully it is 50 percent visitation and mostly full custody for my dad (who actually loves us in a Christian way). She was trying to extort money from our dad. I can totally relate to this song,it hurts so much to leave someone you love the most. I left my ex girlfriend for my peace and sanity bcos I was the only one who kept trying to work our relationship after she got into military. I was crying every night,I let myself feel the pain and when she came back for the weekend that's when I decided to end our relationship. She said she love me but I can't feel it anymore.It was my very first time that I was the one ended up the relationship bcos I don't like the feeling of leaving someone,I'd rather be left out than leaving but I just couldn't take the pain anymore I still love her though. “I want to live & not just survive” .. I’ve currently been feeling all the emotions I’ve suppressed for 8years with my high school sweetheart. I’ve been trying so hard to love this person and give him everything that I have to give but yet I no longer even receive the bare minimum of what it is to have a partner. I feel your pain because I'm a Christian and I'm 17 I never thought I'd feel this feeling but life had decided that it would be my mother.
She was from a narcissistic family and now she is showing her colors and now I realize this was secretly happening for 7 years. I feel betrayed.
My mom just finished the divorce all because she is narcissistic and she is trying to control me my brother and father but we resisted. And I have to sit through this to protect my brother (i made a promise to protect him). Thankfully it is 50 percent visitation and mostly full custody for my dad (who actually loves us in a Christian way).
She was trying to extort money from our dad. She has family debt but it's all fake because the money she took is with her grampa, but we can't prove that.
And since I found this song today it's helped me (manly) cry out my kept emotions... It's funny because this song perfectly represents how I feel.
I love her but her actions and fake love are making it hard to really love her. So as this song says I'll leave her.
This song honestly describes a relationship where one person is hopelessly depressed and the other is trying to love them but ends up walking away due to their own mental health and Not being able to love them in the dark….This definitely would be an ode to that situation 🥺

This song helped me get so much closure from pain that ive been hanging onto about my ex leaving me. It gave me a new perspective of how it felt and what they went through breaking up with me. And as I keep this song on repeat and sing it to myself like its addressed to me, tears running down my face, I can finally start smiling in hope for the future again.

Many years after a breakup from a long relationship, this lyrics made me cry...because it explains exactly what I was feeling when I had to make the decision and at the time, I couldnt explain it better. I loved him, but we were worlds apart, already too hurt by each other. To this day, I truly feel it was the right decision, even if I haven't found so far companionship like that relationship.

I can totally relate to this song,it hurts so much to leave someone you love the most. I left my ex girlfriend for my peace and sanity bcos I was the only one who kept trying to work our relationship after she got into military. I was crying every night,I let myself feel the pain and when she came back for the weekend that's when I decided to end our relationship. She said she love me but I can't feel it anymore.It was my very first time that I was the one ended up the relationship bcos I don't like the feeling of leaving someone,I'd rather be left out than leaving but I just couldn't take the pain anymore I still love her though. “I want to live & not just survive” .. I’ve currently been feeling all the emotions I’ve suppressed for 8years with my high school sweetheart. I’ve been trying so hard to love this person and give him everything that I have to give but yet I no longer even receive the bare minimum of what it is to have a partner. I feel like he’s left me in all ways apart from physically & it breaks my heart to know that I’ll be the one breaking his when I leave but when is enough.. enough? When is a broken heart enough to listen to when it’s already broken enough. What should it take? I’ve finally for the first time in years taken the time to feel all my sorrow I’ve built up and shoved away for so long.

Our friendship wasn't working, and i'm glad that she was strong enough to tell me what i already knew, our friendship had ended a long ago, but i couldn't admit that, i couldn't. We were too different, but she's still in my heart. I love to listen to this song even if it hurts and makes me cry, because it makes me remember that we have done our best and to be strong as she was.
