    you have to get Kwame Nkrumah's books, he had 8 and read and you will understand the issues we all face as Africans. We don't go to school to be enlightened as Africans rather indoctrinated and we become useless not being able to produce anything of our own even our basic necessities are being produced by the west, east, south and north we are just useless. i blame not the whites but our poverty is a choice and we should live with it until we build the courage to stand on our own two feets.

    Nukes are disadvantageous but Nuclear energy has exponential benefits, when explored.
    We will need to find a way around it.
    Africa seems to be the future.
    Those movies are now making more sense.
    Thanks for the informative content.

    Making nukes is the simplest technology that ever existed. It's the issue of separation of isotopes which any school lab is able to carry out. The six methods of isotope separation we have described so far (diffusion, distillation, centrifugation, thermal diffusion, exchange reactions, and electrolysis) have all been tried with some degree of success on either uranium or hydrogen or both.

      Africans don't need machine guns either, perhaps Africans can fight machine guns with spears. African and African nations need nuclear weapons to defend themselves against unforeseen variations in the world, whatever that may be. Nuclear weapons act as a failsafe or a barrier to protect yourselves. If you don't think so, why have machine guns, give up the machine guns too.

    The soviet union built Ajaokuta steel company which is said to possess nuclear reactor potential. It could generate nuclear powered electricity. Could it be why the Obasanjo administration was coarsed to handover the company to an american establishment? Could it be why this steel company may never function?

      @DumaM-ir7rk what, I am saying is, South Africa cares about what's allowed and what's not allowed. That's why SA isn't strong enough to built it. Nigeria doesn't care permissions. They will built it no matter what. Even if it means sanctions or war. That's what it takes. That's why SA isn't strong enough to built it. But Nigeria will.

    Why didn't Nasser get nukes when he was Egypt's president?

    • @MrWaterlionmonkey
      @MrWaterlionmonkey Месяц назад +1

      Britian, France and Israel invaded Egypt for nationalising its suez canal. Imagine the response if they developed nukes. Besides Egypt had good relations with the soviet union. It was partial the soviet threat to nuke London and Paris that led to the British and French leaving. So why have nukes when you have an ally that would use them on your behalf? It's free protection. South Africa felt it needed nukes because it wasn't friends with either the west or the east. It was isolated, so it felt no country would offer it such protection or retaliate on its behalf

    African countries have more pressing socioeconomic needs than acquisition of nuclear arsenals. It's also capital intensive to develop, secure and maintain nuclear weapons. No country in Africa is currently facing an existential threat to justify the nuclear deterrent option. This may change in the future.

    North Korea's nukes are not the biggest deterrent: the North Koreans don't have a delivery system. Instead the deterrent is the rocket and artillery arsenal that could destroy Seoul.

    • @tharnganbenedict24
      @tharnganbenedict24 2 месяца назад

      Japan and south Korea are in their range. They also got two nuclear superpower friends as neighbors. That's the reason north korea is able create its nuke weapons without much interference unlike Iran.

    Even though I am a fan of your videos and usually your train of thought, I believe that there are more reasons for no African countries at present having no nukes. First, African countries tend to be far more unstable as to their governments. Say what you want to say about the US, Russia, China, India, France, UK, India and Israel, but they don't tend to have coups every couple of years. Not even north Korea. Pakistan does have them and they are the wildcard as to the stability of their regime, and, given that they tend to be on the more islamist side, so therefore are a threat if Islamic terrorists get their hands on it. And before anyone says the US bombed Japan in World War 2, yes, they did, they ended the war without the need for an armed invasion, protected Japan from the incoming Soviet invasion that would have made a German style scenario in Japan and haven't used them in anger since August 1945.
    Do you think a person like Chad's Habre, or the Central African Emperor Boukase wouldn't have used them?
    Furthermore, nukes are extremely expensive to build, maintain, secure and launch. Every 5 years, the tritium must be refurbished, at between $100k to $1 million dollars. And that doesn't even include your required industrial base, large amounts of scientists and researchers. If a more developed country like Iran can't master them in 20 years, more scientifically backwards African countries can't reach that goal, while battling hunger and building basic utility and educational infrastructure.
    So, my conclusion is that, Africa, at present, doesn't need, can't finance them, or have the technical capabilities. In the future, if Africa continues developing and it's economy grows and politics stabilizes, I can see them having the bomb responsibly, but not at present and under current conditions... Too much must be solved first

      Each nuke costs many millions of dollars to construct and a few million dollars a year to maintain. The only countries that could realistically have them are south African countries because you need to keep them away from extremist groups.
      That money can be better spent improving the lives of the people.

    • @burna_para7143
      @burna_para7143 2 месяца назад +1

      @@graver0bber not just few millions, it cost hundreds of millions to maintain in a year , so it is logical to stop the whole nuclear program and spending so much money on something you don't know when you will use , besides an accident can happen which can contaminate the whole country and part of neighboring countries with radiation, we haven't even talked about security we all know how poor security in africa is , and a nuclear bomb is like a gold chest for terrorist sect imagine a terrorist sect having possession of a nuke.
