I think he's having a private conversation with God. It's beautiful to hear with just his voice, the piano, and strings
mikosdanes ...agreed.
I think he's talking to himself, look at the contrast between this song and Nate
Everybody hating on this song, but I LOVE it!!! We get 18 other amazing rap songs on my Album of the Year, and it isn’t easy to write a ballad!
Love this song as much as I do many of the other records! This and Time are a great end to this album!
Hats off to your reactions! So real!! Entertaining but also more about the music itself, unlike many of the other huge reaction channels! Though Crypt is legit too!
Freedom has been a running theme throughout the entire album. Also in the first verse of Let Me Go, he talks about finding freedom. In the second verse he basically says the same thing but by calling it 7 letters instead of freedom.
Now in Trauma, I've yet to quite understand who/what he is talking about, but generally in songs like this I feel like he is mostly talking to himself and not anyone else in particular.
To me this song was just deeply personal and felt like the way my soul feels when I’m in my worst depths of anxiety/depression. It’s just a beautiful song period. He could be referencing to anything honestly. His music, his faith, his wife, his mind/himself...That’s the beauty of music. It can mean something different and unique to each person who hears it. In my opinion based on the full lyrics though, I’d say it’s his battle with his “inner critic” due to trauma. This was my favorite song on the album, just the raw beauty of it. I get chills every time. 🖤 #NFRealMusic
I’ve only ever known NF to write songs talking to A) Emotions as if they were people. B) God. And C) The whole rap game in general. So this must be to God.
In a conversation with Nate, he said he wants freedom from his mind...
Definitely, freedom from his self doubt, self hatred I believe it's something we all do
I really think he’s talking to himself. “Why won’t you just love me back,” sounds like he’s talking to himself since he has another song called ‘Hate Myself’... he also says he yells but he’s not making any sound, maybe because it’s all in his head.
When your doing an NF reaction, You have to listen watch and react in a way like there is 2 NF's and 1 of the NF's is rapping to and about the other NF
But it's all still just the 1 NF... Sounds confusing but it's really not Its actually something most all people do daily just not in a rap song lol We just do it with convo and thoughts in our own heads!
Shane Bowers great point!
Sounds like an honest dialogue with God and struggling to understand, feel support and hold faith through challenging times. Its a beautiful song regardless.
I feel an overwhelming desire for Salvation.
Almost agree... but I would replace the word Salvation with Deliverance.
Bro I didn't realize how much I needed that feeling sad
Therapists can help, but only God can give him true freedom. I feel he has put his career above his relationship with God (he admits it in other songs) and God is just waiting for him to turn all his burdens over to Him. God gave us all our feelings, but Nate is afraid of not having them to be a great artist... The truth is the opposite. His emotions are in control of him now, but Nate will still have emotions under God, but Nate will be in control of them! Freedom!
Took me a while but I realize it now, like intro 3 in a way he is talking to himself, this is a call back connection with "hate myself".
I really love this song by NF. It's one of my personal favourites from his new album.
I think he’s talking to God
You were right. It is Let Me Go. In the beginning he says “Maybe someday have a taste of Freedom” then later says “If I let you go and find the seven letters I’ve been looking for”. The whole song he is talking to his burdens. He wants all his burdens and stresses and demons to let him go so he can be free. He also mentions searching for freedom in another song on the album, title isn’t coming to mind right now though lol.
He mentioned in a earlier part of the song he wanted freedom so he was battling with his inner thought that hold him hostage that he wanted to let him go
Trauma I think is about mental issues that cause you to feel like you are drowning and hopes someone can save him. If you ever suffer from depression you would know about the drowning feeling. It sucks
He mentions wanting freedom in another song relating to his emotions...so I assumed
This is him talking to god and hope.
I think he is crying out to God in this, Altho only he knows and as usual he makes his music in a way that is left to mean something to him but also to the listener depending on their experiences in life. This could be about someone finding their peace, their purpose, many options. I think he intentionally left it open to show he hasn't found what he is searching for yet... He said it's one he was most nervous bout us hearing cuz it's just him and piano with no rapping.
My post on your let me go reaction will explain exactly why it is freedom!!! Ps let me know after u read it! Great Reactions as always Bro🔥😎
Keep up the good work man love the vids
To me - in this song I feel like he is talking to God
YEEEEEEEES!!!
could you react to Sasha Sloan Thoughts, older, Faking it, ready yet, normal, runaway, and The Only.
It also could be about his success 🤷♀️ maybe he still feels like he did before despite his success and writing about his feelings
Talking about his trauma
Fame!!! Maybe he is talking about FANS! Oh boy! Though like so many, people can relate it to whatever they want, from relationships to whatever!
He could be talking about success. But i loved the video tho.
