Plus it has 6 gears so its not weird going from my Papio to my full size bike. Love the content Keep it up!

Everybody be safe out there, especially the areas that are starting to get warm and you haven't ridden all winter. People aren't ready for you yet because they're never ready for you because they don't see you. But now they're going to be surprised and you are a little rusty. It's been a few months. You know. Take it slow at first man. Be safe everyone

Back in the 70,s, Josh, I had a Honda Trail 55, with same auto clutch setup then, and if you kept your foot pressing down on the shifter the bike would go into sort of a neutral and could be pushed. So if a buddy could push you on the bike, you could release your foot from the shifter and bump start it that way. I believe that neutral-like feature would occur in all of it's three gears. Me and my buddies beat the stuffing out of that little bike, and bump started that tough little Honda hundreds of times like that👍👍👍👍

I love my XR150L. Got it June 2023 and have almost 4000 miles on it. It is fun to ride. It gets better about 1500 miles. For me cruising speed is 45-50 mph. Had mine up to 65 mph. Having a ton of fun on rural roads and gravel. Averaging about 80mpg.

Loving mine too. Got it about a month or two after yours around August 2023. Only about 1000 miles so far, but I've started to feel it opening up a bit just like I've heard others mention. Hope it starts to open up just a little more over the next 500 or so miles, but either way, I love this simple fun bike. The value for money is a no brainer for such a simple awesome bike.

I bought 2 of these in 2018, for my son and I to ride through Southeast Asia, not bad little bikes, not fast in any way, but the Asian model had a kick starter, and 12 hp!. The suspension was mush, and i could not reach 100km, but my son could. All in all, comfortable enough, capable of going through sketchy roads, and enough torque for the hills. After 3 months, no issues, and sold them to an Australian couple for 95 % of our sale price.

Hey never say never! My Dad bought a trail 90 back when I was about 10 years old. Due to me being extremely limited where I was allowed to ride I had my track set up and every time I went around said track it was a little bit faster. Believe it or not I was power sliding my trail 90 when I was 13 or so. When I was 16 and I dragged the big buck deer out of the woods on the same bike.

The Trail does have a clutch and you can partially press the shift to engage/disengage the clutch. I just got my trail so I’m practicing and trying to figure that out. Holding the lever slightly also smooths the shifting on it as well. I do kinda wish the US model had the rotary transmission like the rest of the world. Would be nice to go from 4th to N with one press at a stop.

My CB125S that I rode for almost 20 years, was the minimum street legal.. it had lights, turn signals and a kick starter. You could not break it.. better looking than the white one too. Everyone is different. But I started riding scooters with a helix and loved it. I have a yamaha 250 scooter now. And I love the CVT. (I can ride a shift.. no worries) I prefer road to dirt.. so that is a factor too

These kind of bikes have their own use cases specific to them.
Eg developing countries where commutes are dirt and pot holed roads. When your taking your two babies, your wife, a live rooster and the weeks shopping on a bike and the road is basically a track (eg Cambodia Burma India Pakistan). These are the type of bike you want... no need for a clutch.
Add to that easy maintenance and part replacement these are an easy choice for a specific use case.

So I was able to start my super cub by putting it on the center stand, putting it higher gear and spinning the tire by hand, so I imagine you could do the same with the trail cub, but you still need enough power for the fuel pump and such, but the XR150L burrows its engine from the CRF150F, and that too also didnt have a kickstart for a while ? I thoguht I could just buy an old side cover for mine but from my ebay'n it doesnt seem to be, odd ! but I've had the bike since last march and love the heck out of this thing, I get people asking me about it all the time, which cracks me up still.

Hey Josh, you can roll start a automatic ,shift it up to 2cd or even 3rd when you shift it up don't let off the shifter ,it will roll like it's in neutral hold up and roll it and when your ready to jump it just let the upward pressure off the shifter and it will go in gear and start . In the 80s I had a Honda atc 110, 3wheeler ,I broke the pull rope the day I got it ,so I jump started it like I described for 5 yrs , sometimes 30 times a day , lol. Never had a issue . I sold it to a neighbor kid and fixed the pull rope the day I sold it ! I had it 5yrs and only pull started it twice . It had high and low range selector ,3 speed ,it took me to the woods ,the store ,the mall ,the arcade ,to a bunch of potential x girlfriends houses , it was my transportation from 10 - 15yrs old , then got a car , had a Yamaha ty 250 also but that old 3 wheeler was just the easiest way to get around . Cops were kinda cool as long as you wasn't in a 4 lane Rd in traffic .

the XR150L is the slight skinned out NXR 160 Bros (Brazilian national model), as a former owner of a Bros, i can say its a pretty good bike for day to day stuff, used mine to ride to work, used to do around 38-40 kilometers per Gas liter, which is pretty darn good considering gas prices here in Brazil, very light bike, nimble for trafic (lane sharing here is ok even tought our roads are not so wide as american roads, car/bike trafic are way safer/fluid) and somehow, very confortable for our crappy roads, the Bros has a CBS brake system, which is slightly better than drum brakes, easy and dirty cheap for maintennace since Honda has a big foothold in the Brazilian market with shops all around, overall a pretty good first bike, i only sold it because i went for the natural upgrade which is the XRE 300 adventure, awesome content as always!

Trick I learned for wheelies the bike I was on at the campout doing wheelies was a semi auto and with the semi auto clutches the clutch is operated by the shifter if you barley hold the shifter up with your foot it activates the clutch and then you drop your foot and it will simulate a clutch drop it works the same as a clutch but it has a separate clutch pack that works off the shifter so there’s two clutch packs in that engine on the trail 125 learned that when I did a clutch kit on one a while back ❤ I just made mine a full manual clutch

What about the KLX230 dual sport. Some dealers have them as cheap as $3500. Fuel injected, 70mph.

You bought the Toyota Corolla of Latin America
Those bike are super popular around here. And they run forever you see lot of those bikes on the street with over 50000km
One cool thing about that engine is the bottom end is beefy, has big bearings and strong rod compared to another 150cc. Drag racers up stroke to 220-240cc get like 35-40hp
A popular "every day" tune is 190cc cylinder , a good 28mm carb , ignitec cdi, cams and exhaust that give you like 25hp reliable.

Does the clutch on the 125 work like the old Z50? Shift into 1st and hold it down and rev it up and lift your foot, just like dumping the clutch! Hold on tight when you release that massive power!

Considering the XR150L's sold outside the US do have a kickstart, I can't figure why they didn't add it.

    The Trail 125 isn't a motorcycle, it's a transportation appliance.

Love Chey's little mad postie bike. They have been used for donkey years by aus post as transport for local postal deliveries. Those little bad asses have a magic reputation over here and they get ridden around australia on the postie rallies where HUNDREDS of them blast down the highways and back roads to ride for charity.

The funny thing is, Honda started bringing the XR150 to the US because Chinese importers have been selling knock offs of the Honda NXR150 ad 160 in the US for years with great success. Honda never would have brought it here if it wasn't for the high demand of that market. I own one said knock off, and I have had it since 2017. Still runs and rides just fine.

How does your bike smell after the engine heats up after spraying all that Tire Wet on it?
You got that Rocket looking really nice, Josh!
