Wow! I’m sitting next to David Mitchell (Son of Jerry) right now, watching the Super-bowl and I’d looked something up concerning Mitchel Leather and stumbled across your video. THANK YOU so much for your kind review. Made all of our days!
I have owned a Mitchell leather money clip in natural shell for nine years. I have purchased three Mitchell clips total, gave two of them to very good friends of mine as gifts. I have owned several Ashland wallets as well. The huge advantage Ashland has over any wallet maker is their access to shell Cordovan in a variety of colors. Dave Mitchell also uses Horween leather. I like the Mitchell clip because of the design, and the clip itself which is patented. I own several card wallets with vertical slots, which I also prefer, however, getting access to a card in the Mitchell money clip is not difficult at all. It’s understandably preference. I’ve owned 4 leather clips with outside quick draws, loved them all. I don’t know if his design would really be that much more of a benefit having an outside slot, although I can see why this would be desired as a quick draw. Ashland says you can put 16 cards in their wallet. If you’re putting four cards in each outside pocket that would stretch the leather immensely, best to go less. On the Mitchell I have four cards in the top slot on each side and two cards in the bottom slot on each side. It has held up nicely, and frankly, I could put more cards in each top slot, but carrying 12 cards works for me. I can easily carry 10 to 20 bills with this number of cards. I love the Mitchell clip. I like the nickel plated bar as well. The wallet is very classy looking. The silhouette is not as thick as the Capone, which is very nice, but it has held up nicely. Hats off to this review, it is probably the best review I’ve seen comparing two different Artisans. Both of these wallets are machine stitched and no doubt hand stitched is the better way to go in my opinion. But Dave Mitchell and Ashland do a good job with machine stitched. Impressive reviews from everyone. One major thing I would add is if you buy the shell Cordovan clip with shell interior just know going in Shell rubbing against shell can mark up very rough after extended use. Consider a reverse shell interior and it won’t show as much wear. But then again, if you’re carrying bills on the interior, which is what it’s designed for of course, this shouldn’t be an issue. Both companies are excellent! You can’t go wrong owning a clip from Mitchell or Ashland. Their customer service is superb.
I have a Mitchell money clip wallet for 4 years and it’s one of the best wallets I own.!! They have been making the best money clip wallet for many years!!
I have the Mitchell MCW and it's hands down one of the best wallets I've ever owned. Dave Mitchell is one heck of a nice fella, as well. He went out of his way to be nice after I had concerns about shipping times around Christmas (I ordered one for my son's Christmas gift). Can't recommend Mitchell Leather highly enough. 10 out of 10.
Yea I contacted the company themselves about adding a quick access card slot on the out side, they said that's something they may do in the future. Lol I even asked if they could flip it around and make all of the inside card out side but they said they couldn't. I forgot why but I think they said they never tried it yet and they would have to go through some trials or samples I believe. I hope they add the outside card slots because I would definitely purchase it. The wallet is beautiful 😍
Shouldn't be very difficult to do honestly. It would be much easier if they used vertical pockets too and would be as simple as adding an exterior pocket. I really hope they do!
I have a lot of Dave's wallets in my collection. I recently picked up a Card Wallet and a Wrap Wallet in that limited edition Barnwood Red Horween Dublin. They are gorgeous!
I knew you’d love this one 🤩 They are just so damn good. You picked an awesome leather in Barnwood Red. I was going to order one in that and now I’ve seen yours I want one more 👊🏻🙂 Whilst I love my own Capone wallet, the money clip on the MMCW wipes the floor with the generic type fitted in the Capone. There are 2 epic wallet makers using incredible clips and that’s Mitchell and Farrah. Both have the best clips I’ve ever used on a wallet. Great video and I’m glad you love the wallet. 👍🏻 EDIT: I’m dreaming about the Farrah. I don’t yet own one. 😂🤦🏻♂️
@@ChrispyThings you ended up being right I bought both and like them both for different reasons however the usability with the quick access slots of the capone have me using it more then the mcw however if I was carrying slot of cash definitely the MCW I Also picked up the Fat herbie from ashland leather and I love it the layout of the cards and the outside cash compartment while remaining slimmer then the capone still make it a great wallet for traveling or a long trip can carry loads of cash and all the cards you could need while staying slim
Hi crispy another great review I'm currently using the andar pilot wallet which wallet you think is better this Mitchell or the trayvac venture wallet which one you think is best thank you
That thing is definitely NOT for me. I really don't think that money clip is any better than the Capone (i haven't personally tried the Mitchell though), and it actually looks like cheaper quality to me. I don't ever want to diss a product, because I'm sure you reviewers that actually have one, truly love it. But its a deal breaker for me for these reasons! #1. No quick access pockets. That's why I bought my Ashland Leather Shell Cordovan Capone Money Clip over the Awl & Leaf shell MCW (and now I find out A&L does do exterior pockets for custom orders). #2. Horizontal pockets. I'm just a vertical wallet guy, through and through. #3. Looks like machine stitching vs hand/saddle stitching. Not a deal breaker though because Ashland Leather does machine stitching too. But nothing beats a high quality hand saddle stitch! #4. Not impressed by the money clip itself. Looks like it's cheaper quality than my Capone Money Clip. My shell cordovan Capone Money Clip is super HQ and awesome and is super easy to get/replace bills from. Plus, it's completely removable!!! Again, this is just my opinion from Chris's review above, and I've never used one. However, if it had interior AND exterior VERTICAL pockets, I'd definitely buy one to try out, because Horween Dublin is one of my favorite leathers too, behind shell cordovan of course 😎👍 Chris, as always, thank you for the very honest and informative review!!!

To this day, people that know their stuff fall in love every time a whip out my Cobalt Blue Mitchell money clip... just GORGEOUS!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
I have a Mitchell money clip wallet for 4 years and it’s one of the best wallets I own.!! They have been making the best money clip wallet for many years!!
My father in law actually has one of these and I love it more than most the small front pocket ones I've got.
I have the Mitchell MCW and it's hands down one of the best wallets I've ever owned. Dave Mitchell is one heck of a nice fella, as well. Well if they do add an outside pocket, I’ll absolutely snag another!

Just got my barnwood red edition today. Gorgeous! Agree with the outside quick access pocket. Come on Dave, bring on that option!!!
I just got mine and I love it. Tried a lot of money clip wallets and none are an nice as this one.
I have a lot of Dave's wallets in my collection. I recently picked up a Card Wallet and a Wrap Wallet in that limited edition Barnwood Red Horween Dublin. They are gorgeous!
Nice!
My first edc wallet was Mitchell money clip in limited edition blue color is perfect and the platina is beautiful.
It's a really great looking wallet and the color and Dublin leather is really nice. Agree that it would be much better if it had an outside pocket.

Time for me to check out Farrah it looks like
Oh so the clip part is better on this? I've been weighing either this or the Capone
@@ddmplynx clip is better on MCW yeah.
@@Richard_Barnes thanks :-)
I keep going back and forth over this or the Ashland Capone.
I have the Ashland and it's awesome but I want this one now
@@elihollingsworth6852 I ended up with this one
The Ashland leather Capone wallets pockets are little better, but the Mitchell money clip wallet money clip is better in my opinion
This makes deciding which of those 2 I want harder. Haha
Both are EXCELLENT but I like and use the the MCW!
Great video and review! This wallet looks awesome. I’ll definitely be checking it out. Thanks! 👍
I don’t know weather I want to buy the Capone for quick access slot or this one for the functionality of the money clip what do you think chrispy?
Tough call man.
I’m still rocking the Capone but don’t really carry it for the cash.
If that’s what you’re mainly carrying it for, go with the MCW
@@ChrispyThings you ended up being right I bought both and like them both for different reasons however the usability with the quick access slots of the capone have me using it more then the mcw however if I was carrying slot of cash definitely the MCW I Also picked up the Fat herbie from ashland leather and I love it the layout of the cards and the outside cash compartment while remaining slimmer then the capone still make it a great wallet for traveling or a long trip can carry loads of cash and all the cards you could need while staying slim

Hey, if you saw my review of the Venture you’ll know I want really a fan of that wallet. So the Mitchell all day long
Ever review of the Col. Littleton front pocket wallet? Might be worth a look.
Please make video again with this wallet, I mean 1 years later
Which are you using more, this or Ashland's Capone Leather Money Clip?
I’ve carried my reverse shell cordovan Capone almost more than anything
I like the money clip wallets, and wallet that I can carry cash with me. Yes I'm a guy who carries cash. I dont like using my debit/ credit card.
If you like these types of Wallet, check out the Farrah wallet
You’re the second to recommend them. I’ll check them out
Do you know if euro bills will fit?
Depends on what bill. The wallet is like 78mm tall so some larger denominations wont fit
@@enbardis ok. Thanks.
i keep saying why does he keep saying my name LOL
Was keen on one of these, but they don't ship outside of the US
They do you just have to fill out a separate form on their website
I have just ordered one and I live in the UK
I was digging it till I saw that huge logo on there
You can choose the No logo option when ordering
This vs ... ashland wallets?
My Ashland Capone is still in my front pocket
Thumbs up and GO!!
No quick access, no buy 🤷
Make your own wallet..... With own Style
Vertical one....
I just started learning how to make my own. I’m far away from being any good. But I’m learning
