Essendon were thrashed by Port in Adelaide and lost to the Swans in Sydney by five goals.The Swans loss came the week after both their centre half back and their best defender were injured.Consequently, the backline was a bit of a dog's breakfast.The defensive half they fielded that day has since been fine tuned.Interestingly both defenders are close to being available for selection again.
