I think the only thing that hurts kd is his injuries and that fact he never played for stats. He could have had a lot of 50-point games, but if his team had a decent lead, he would just quit shooting
Facts KD really doesn’t get his credit. He can easily average 33-35 a night and ppl say that about a lot of the older players ( Bron, Steph, etc ) but KD is the o only I think can do it em without over doing it. He could average 33 on around 18 shots a night easy. He gets to the free throw line 2 3 balls a game on a bad night shooting night and on a bad shooting night he’s still 44+% from the field JUST A BUCKET 🪣

If total points mattered that much then Karl Malone would have been in the goat convo, and Kareem would have been the one Bron was chasing not MJ. Still when KD is done he’ll probably finish top 10 in points anyway. Haters look for reasons to knock KD but real hoopers understand he’s the best PLAYER of the last 20 years. Bron has the accolades and has a freakishly brilliant basketball mind ( but it depends on systems, schemes, etc ). KD is literally just a hooper, like drop him anywhere and regardless if he has floor spacers or pick n roll partners HES THE BEST PLAYER ON THE COURT.

To be fair, a lot of older players didn't have the opportunity to play in the olympics because they were pros. Michael jordan, for example, in the dead heart of his prime, and maybe the greatest season of all time missed the 88 olympics because only college players could play.
@whenisdinner2137 This is true and a good point. Still, we can only go off of the history we have and in doing so, KD is the clear GOAT of USAB.
That case was cemented even more in him becoming the all-time leading scorer in USA Olympic history against Brazil.
I lean toward Bill Russell as the all-time GOAT, but if you want to crown KD as the GOAT of USA Basketball, I’m OK with that.

I've always kinda hated the goat debate, not only in basketball but in most team sports. Different eras and rules, different management decisions and team structures, so many variables outside of the player's control.
Heck, players having completely different strengths and weaknesses and playing different positions, and picking an arbitrary way to compare them, whether it's points, rings, etc. It's comparing apples to oranges and saying "Oranges have more vitamin C, therefore oranges are the best fruit".
I Agree, KD should be considered the GOAT of International Basketball based on his commitment to team USA and his love for the game. 🙂
