    I always check the gap, factory production isn't perfect. Also recommend torquing plugs 23Nm.

    No anti-seize compound for the threads? I am perhaps dating myself, but that used to be always recommended for installing plugs in an aluminum head.
    Thanks

    • @tweedbean
      @tweedbean  4 года назад +6

      Thanks for watching. Apparently Virtually all spark plugs now feature a special anti-seizure nickel or zinc-chromate shell plating. Basically, you can think of the plating as a replacement of thread compound or copper slip

    @tweedbean - can you do a vid on how to change battery and is it really necessary to take it to dealership to get it recoded? thanks

      Hi unfortunately I dont own the car anymore so no new F56 videos coming, is it the car battery you are talk about or the key? If so here is the key battery replacement video I have: ruclips.net/video/ibrkzwVFGn0/видео.html

      Is not necessary, it will appear an error that will disappear by it’s own in one or two days.

    What is the torque setting for the ignition coil screws please? Is it 8Nm only like I read online?

    • @tweedbean
      @tweedbean  6 месяцев назад

      The torque spec on the ignition coil screws is 8 Nm apparently

      Apparently it’s 23 + 3 Nm or 16.9 + 2.2 ft-lbs (unlubricated).

    Ngk.... Bosch... Champion...?
    Thanck you

    • @tweedbean
      @tweedbean  5 лет назад +2

      I used in the UK for my Cooper S F56: The newer NGK BMW part number is 12 12 0 040 551 for the individuals. The NGK number is SILZKGR8B8S.
      BMW also supply champion plugs in the same box with the same part number as the NGK, guidance I have been given is that the champion plugs are an inferior product and you really want the NGK plugs. Please ensure that you check with your supplier that they are providing the NGK's. Tools Required: 8mm star socket 14mm bi-hex spark plug socket wrench and extender bar for the above

    What's the required gap for the plugs? I bought ngk plugs and they were gapped at .030.

    • @tweedbean
      @tweedbean  4 года назад +1

      The factory gap for the NGK’s .030" (0.75mm) iridium/platinum plugs shouldn’t need gapping as they are extremely strong but worth checking if you are concerned

    quick question; what is the miliage recomend to replace the spark plugs? or is ta due working time?

    • @tweedbean
      @tweedbean  7 лет назад +4

      Alfonso Tejeda Hi MINI recommend the following: At every 6th Engine Oil Service: Spark plugs: Replace (approximately 60,000 miles). I've done mine a lot soon just because my engine is tuned so I like to reduce the suggested gaps between servicing items

      Aghiad Baik it’s always recommended to instal OEM replacement. Better than any other brand or specs.
