More About No Man's Sky:
Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.
In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.
Play with all 17 major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation, Origins, Next Generation, Pet Companion, Expeditions, Prisms and Frontiers!
An epic voyage to the center of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.
At the center of the galaxy lies a irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.
The galaxy in No Man's Sky is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

I've had the game for probably over 2+ yrs because I bought when it was dirt cheap. Didn't touch it until recently and now I'm unable to stop playing. The best comeback story of a game that I have witnessed. Also, I have a hard time not getting distracted by doing random things. The amount of hours I have spent in the game is easily 85% random distraction and 15% actually completing missions.
It's amazing just how much this game has grown.
Grown but not changed. There's still no objective to anything.
Everyone should like this
@@DenkyManner Whats your objective in other games? To complete it? For examle in minecraft do you really play to defeat the ender dragon or just to enjoy the journey and get stronger?
@@tama2723 great analogy👏🏽
I love how you give instructions for both PS and Xbox without the drama. All you care about is players enjoying, and getting into, the game. 💕💖🥰🥰😍👍
I usually play for about a month, then put it down and pick it up a year later. Everytime I come back, I’m blown away by the new features. Props to the devs, y’all are kickin ass, and I’d love to drop money on their next full game.
THIS IS THE PERFECT INTRO VIDEO, MATE! I definitely could have used it when I started. Thank you Jason!🙌🙌🙌
I've been thinking the same thing, I started when Next update released but reckon I'll pick up some handy tips. Very good guide.
42:17 "Korvax Casing, we can sell that" No! It's the perfect item to increase the standing of the Korvax early on in the game
Good! I got one and used it as a gift for an NPC I figured the standing would be harder to farm than it’s value in money. Good to see I might’ve been right here
•The goo you considered trash can actually be processed into nanites.
•Mordite and Faecium is pretty useless even when it becomes useful because SO many planets have it in abundance.
•Never buy pre-assembled components (batts, circuits), unless you need then as a one-off for a critical repair or construction. Instead focus on getting a healthy stock of salvaged data (from buried data caches) and nanites (from damaged machinery) so you can learn to manufacture everything yourself early on.
Hey Jason would love for you to make more of these guides been playing for a long time but there’s a lot to learn and I find these guides amazing 😁❤️
A good tip for starting out, you can use photo mode to scout the area around you. Your hazard protection won't go down while in photo mode, giving you time to find sodium or a cave, and anything else around you that might be of interest
I had been waiting to play this game for a while. After starting I regret waiting sooo long. Your video really helped speed along the initial discovery and wasting time trying to get the hang of it. I now have a 3 story beach front base on a paradise planet... super fun.
Thanks a lot! I wanted to start this game a long time ago, but I was afraid of its complexity. With your guide it was easy to start. I really enjoy it so far.
Lol I commented on one of your videos 2 days ago regarding my confusion with this game. I had no idea how to get into this so I really appreciate this video! :)
Excellent tutorial dude! You answered the questions I had perfectly. And the way you relate things works for me.
I just bought this game.
I'm addicted
Same here already invested more than 12 hours of gameplay!!! The game is great!!!
Command the stars to your will and let your name travel through all interloper to pass your stars.
Definitely my favorite NMS videos, thank you, Jason!
Thanks a bunch for this. I played NMS for the first year or so when it came out and really enjoyed it, warts and all. I’m thinking of playing it on the Switch when it comes out, hence watching this video. I’m shocked at the massive changes, and can’t wait to play it again.
Great guide! I've just jumped into No Man's Sky and this helped do much! Really enjoying the game.
I needed this 😂 I haven’t played the game in a while
I've got about eight hours of playtime, and I'm so glad I found your channel. There's so much I don't know!
Love your channel dude. I'm a long time player, just bought it for my brother and been watching your videos to help us both
Always need beginner guides. Also, I'm really glad this video knocked that gamespot hit piece out of the top result for "no man's sky" for me on RUclips.
Thank you for this, I learned so much! :)
Fantastic guide! Saved to my Favorites. :)
Thank you for explaining all the details for beginner player...many other produces video for beginner but skip all the explanations...hoping that you'll continue this series
Having so much fun. So much to do. Power overwhelming.
love that starcraft 1 reference bro
Just started playing and I love everything about it!❤️
Getting this for switch when it comes out. I have never played it but looks cool. I like your videos so I'll be getting my study on with you.
This is incredible. Just bought the game be of this in-depth gameplay video. Cheers
Thank u brotha I needed this !!!
I'm late as usual but thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial from Jason. Memory Lane for me but I needed reminding. Well done and thank you, buddy.
Summary of video:
(Jason shares interesting fact)
Jason: Boom!
I love it - Jason in every video
Just downloaded the game. Great playthrough!
Today is my first day playing it and I’m playing it in VR 🤘 amazing game I’m blown away and not sure why I haven’t played it before now.. so here I am learning haha
Awesome guide can not wait for next one.
even tho i know all this,i love watching jason playing NMS
Thanks for this, as a brand-new player, well I played on launch, but we all know how that went. It ran like utter garbage on my PC, but now it's running perfectly on the same darn PC, they have put in some work that's for sure. I find myself struggling with resources allot, this is extremely helpful. I'm still in shock that 15 people made this game, it's truly incredible and the best redemption ark in gaming history, Final Fantasy 14 is in second :-)
For early Nanites, keep any and all residual goop/living slime. Can be refined into mould which then can be refined into Nanites.
I tried this game out again and I'm hooked
I'm amazed at how Jason keeps his energy levels up while recording these videos 👻
Goop can be refined into nanites, worth saving if you have the space.
The engoodening never stops! Thanks heaps for this guide nice and easy to digest
Underrated channel
I usually love your content; this was really long and had a ton of stuff in it that wasn't a guide. In most of your guides you spitfire information, this felt more like a let's play where you read every line of text and conversation. If I was blind this could have been more interesting :P but there's text to speech for that I suppose. Either way, it was nicely made, and the bookmarks were great for navigation.
Saved up 2 stacks of residual goop. Used medium refiners to make about 3500 nanites. Pretty useful because I needed the nanites. Just plop them into some refiners later on, go do something for 30m or so. Come back and do the living slime into mold. Last stage takes very little time.
That and the Ionized Cobalt farming with Oxygen and you never gotta worry about units.
Everything else, sure lol.
Protip: disable your internet connection, fast forward the time on whatever system you're using, log back into the game, instant settlement completion. Screw having to wait 4 hours for things to build
This should be top comment
Thank you for this. I can’t wait to re experience this with your help.
Great video keep it up
Dont forget to upload the discoveries for nanites, they increased the amount you get for scanning the entire creatures on the planet
Great guide 🤝
Excellent video
Between you and S-Bob we all know everything about NSM!!! Thank You so much, enjoy both of ya'll. As a interloper I would to see another race, maybe the first to a happy settlement!!!!
I just started playing no man's sky again. My first abandoned machinery gave me an S tier toxic protection. On a toxic planet i started on, great start.
Best beginning is get a second salvaged ship and start flipping them. Flipping means claiming a ship for free from a NPC at a station, then you reclaim your original ship for free, then scap one of them for parts. Today I went from one ship, picking up a second abandoned ship, now I have 5 ships, the most worth over 20,000,000. And I have 80,000,000 credits, not only that I got a Tonne of nanites and resources. Game play about 8 hours.
Very helpful. Thank you. I was having a problem finding the materials for the thruster. I didn’t realize you have to craft the materials. I’m new to the game, been living under a rock. Didn’t know this game existed until I played green hell and then steam recommended this game. It looks cool but the tutorial messages leave the screen before I could read them. Again, thanks for the video. Very helpful getting me through the tutorial.
creds to the devs of this game, first VR, now this!?, this is probably the best game ive played, and my opinion probably wont change
This Has been in the Game for Many years and Is for Advanced Players who have Just started to explore the Deeper NMS Galaxies on the Galaxy map OK?
Here is something Many players (those who have Freighters) are unaware of and Its easy to set up and use once you know the Time when it is Needed and B) It means you DO NOT need an up date to a special warp drive Type to fly into a Blocked off Star system Such as Red Green and Blue on the Galactic map.
First thing to check Is that you Have a few Warp cores in your Freighters Inventory OK, then Fuel up the engine. The range on the New freighter is about 180 Light Years
Next Warp your spaceship so its in an Adjacent system , then call up and board your Freighter
Now here is the Clever bit Go into the Control room and go to the Console Screen which is opposite the NPC who gives out the Freighter missions.
Open this Up and it shows the Galactic map....Did you make a Note of that "Blocked" Path system? simply select this and click the "Warp" link
Now Go back to your Space ship and You can explore the Planets normally.
Who Needs the fancy Warp drive upgrade material for a 1 off task when you can do this?
I'm glad to see a new beginner guide I can share with new players.
Well done!
Sports (ski, surfing, parachuting), beeing able to share/walk inside the spaceshipe (and more inside shipe features), an autopilot for the spaceship, a "mercenary" robot/alien to help farming/piloting the ship, combat zones and more military features is all thats missing for me.
And also... an official Sean Murray Skin (love that guy).
I bet we get some of those, combat overhaul almost for sure. Fingers crossed on the Sean Murray skin....
@@JasonPlaysNMS Hello, Jason Plays, congratulations on your work!
I hope we get some of those.
Take care :D
I took a week of vacation in 2016 or whenever this originally came out and I wish the game I see here was what I had gotten to play back then.
Hi, im new to the game. A question about the ship augmentations, can you upgrade your starter ship, so that it has max storage in all the storage options?
Yes you can
You can do the same with your starting multi-tool
Awesome thanks guys
Yes you can, class A ships and Class S will give you storage upgrades if you scrap them at the space station
I didn't know you got nanites for renaming. I'm not a newbie but your beginner walkthrough is very good.
Searching through RUclips its hard to find a video that really step by step explains the inventory system
also call in the Nexus so you can get two suit upgrades per system
Very good tip!
@@JasonPlaysNMS No problem, love your content and as a day one player I want as many people as possible to love the game like I have over the years.
I’m going to restart in survival now that I know the basics. I messed so much up that I would do better and now I want more of a combat challenge.
I'm ngl, residual goo and rusted metal from those machines do sell quite well early on
I got my save corrupted 2 times and I'm on my 3rd save and all the times I got a stupid ice planet which is stupidly hard to survive on and looks like shit has less resources and I had to do all tutorial on that planet. That was a bad first impression of the game for me but on my 3rd game I played more and I'm enjoying now.
Jason should’ve been a teacher !!!
Man, the update is out since 2 days and the guy alreay has a 1hour video on "The perfect beginner guide to no man's sky frontier"...
Gotta admit, the speed of upload is impressing
2 things I don't like about NMS, my eyes are burning each time I play, and the game should tell you to get ferite dust first not metal plating(I know this is complaining, but this makes the game more confusing or stressful). The game is incredible, but would things more direct or explained, like blueprints too. Tell me to fly straight to a space station to buy them from the salesperson. This is explained, nut there's tons of reading with burning eyes. Great video thanks, it helps.
So idk if it happened to you but I was at my settlement and if you notice they have classes like c b a . I had a b one and my debt was bout to be clear when I just looked and my town turned into a s and now I have to wait 24 hours for debt to clear
I rarely scan the plants or minerals at the start because i dont want my inventory to be filled with secondary items, if you dont scan you only get the first item, then i have found in caves a LOT of the time there is cobalt and copper from the stalactites (tites go down)
I tend to mine the asteroids in space the tritium hyper clusters can give a free anti matter plus gold and tritium, whenever i m out there i mine
Curious Jason, do you play survival or permadeath?
Also on xbox right now was building my base and then crash! last save is when my ship landed on the planet, I was at the point of making a teleporter and out getting 7 more tech to unlock solar panels
This mode is normal because of the 250+ inventory
Just got this game and i hate the fact that it took this long for me to get it because so far this game is addictive
Thank you for this! The other guides I've seen you had to have a lot of context and would skip over critical steps.
Really wish you covered freigter/Frigate part, but you definitely don't have enough money to start going into that part.
I love this game
Jason help! I didn’t receive my blueprint for the antimatter and container. I just didn’t show up. But I did get some warp fuel a couple a times, and now I am all together in another system with only one warp cell left! How do I get these blueprints after the fact?
44th! :P love your content
Is this the normal mode or the creative mode. Thinking of starting new it’s been 2 years since I last played but have updated….
noticed that no one tells you what happens when you die or what to do if that happens. how do you find your grave? total newbie have not played games like this in ten yrs. do you have instutions for the PC.
Can you do a video on nanite farming in Frontiers?
I can do that
NO MAN'S SKY ON SWITCH !!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe yet
how do you know what things to look for ? when first starting out its not clear to me
Sorry about that other comment, do you know how works those space station override?
Not out yet, hopefully it will come soon!!! Continue on interloper the journey has just begone.
I have a question if someone can please help
Me I never Got to the abandoned ship for scrap but Got to the Anomaly base and spoke to the people.I was having trouble with the mining laser but I followed ur guide
Am I too late to get the ship since I’m at the Anomaly or does it matter
Im not new to this game. Have played it 100+ hours. But i liked the whole guide. I will definitely recommend it to everyone who want to play this game!! 🇳🇴
2:00 Total newbie noob here. I'm on PC. I don't know what a D pad is. How do I open my quick menu? Thanks.
45:15 Spider Ship 😆
I just started playing this I'm using an xbox controller and the joy stick is to sensitive its jerry do you know how to fix this it makes it hard to play the game
Playing on pc, but can't get the blueprints upon searching archives on base computer, can't progress on quest line.
So many Bugs after the Frontiers Update
I wait for the Fixes bevor i go on.
Should be more patches soon, probably Monday.
@@JasonPlaysNMS I hope so. I am a Beginner in NMS (40 Hrs) and I'm a bit addicted at the moment! xD
I have no edit permission anywhere I go. I'm offline too. How are you supposed to move forward when your not allowed to do anything?
Found something you should see Jason. Probably never seen before on nms. Felt 8 years old again when I found it. Hmu
if you are in the discord then hit me with an @ and a screen shot.
Roger. Done.
Why get rid of the residual goop when you can convert it to nanites?
Because quite honestly its a waste of space. And doesn't give you all that much nannies versus other items
Nanities*
I found a glitch in 3.62 that instantly gives you "S" rank, while your
settlement is inactive set time forward a day reload the game and see
if that works if not set the time back 1 day again and try again...
either way trippy glitch lol. PS: Also puts you 10m in debt :|
Is it bad to put an outpost next to a trading station?
I had no idea about the size of the terrain manipulator and the amount of resources you gather 😮 thanks for the tip!
So what is the best gamemode to play this game?
"to reduce your chances of dying, get inside a burning vehicle"
