I was fortunate enough to go and watch Brian play many times alongside gazza home and away before i moved away from Scotland in the late 90s(Cant believe where the time has went) probably the deadliest duo Scottish football has ever seen 💙💙
Both of them were two of the finest players in Europe during that period , Big Mark Hateley up front with Macca, they had the strongest squad they’ve ever had to be fair.
Hatley and mccoist upfront Laudrup on the wing then gazza came was was a joy to watch so naturally talented players rangers seen the best football both players.. who never came old past his prime both still in there 20s
Aberdeen fan here, saw Laudrup many times. Best compliment I can give him was he played in the same team as Gazza and, in my eyes was the better player.
@25:20 - I laughed so hard at that clip of Brian turning Paolo Maldini - widely regarded as the best left back in the world at the time - into complete mince. I'd forgotten how thrilling he was to watch. Easily the best player I've ever seen in person. Great video, thanks!
Thanks for putting it back up. These videos are always great. When anyone talks about players you'd pay to watch, Laudrup in full flight is the one I think of.
You just might be my new favourite footie channel, love the videos!!! Original and fascinating topics that cater to the more ´forgotten´and cult like figures from the golden age of football. Especially appreciate all the old footage you´ve assembled for these vids!! Dope to see Brian in is Munich days, he always was my favorite Laudrup
Ability wise he is on par with his brother but the difference was his picking of clubs if he goes to spain in 92 i think he never ends up at ibrox but i am glad he did. Him, Ryan Giggs, Roberto Baggio and John Barnes are the best dribblers of a ball i have seen
Wow what a great video! Made with tangible care and affection for the player. This must have taken hours to put together but thank you for doing so. Awesome job again #FlashbackFootball.
Great video, I loved how you singled out Maldini running circles arround himself, and the euro 92 final had Danish legendary Flemming Tofts "Huttelihut" (jutilejut Mandela effect).... On a funny side note, John Faxe Jensens goal in the final, was asked about the goal, and In the best of my danglish translation said ; I hit it straight in the ass 💪
It's back!!!! I only got half way last time 😂 Thank you Flash! EDIT: I tore my ACL at 25. Worst agony I ever experienced: it's a testament to Brian that he came back from it. Back then, the surgery was pretty nasty.
I was a teenager in the '90's; grew up in Glasgow. I remember the Walter Smith and Laudrup years. I remeber watching M.Laudrup on European nights and in international tournaments. I knew he was a star, but I didn't know till now he played for Bayern Munich and AC Milan
The Yugoslavian team that was kicked out of Euro 92 were awesome, Stoijkovic, Savicevic, Sliskovic, Pancev, Mijhailovic, Jugovic, Binic, Prosinecki, Sukur, Boksic that was a serious team full of quality, a shame we never saw them at a tournament.
@@19coyote80 they got beat 4-1 by probably the best German side ever, that Yugoslavia team were not experienced in WC if they’d been aloud to play in USA 94 they would have been at there peak, by the time of 98 half there players were playing for Croatia so it was over .
Great video about a great player, I agree I always felt that the obsession to Match Celtic's 9 hindered that side badly in Europe. Also the stars didnt align, Guys like McCoist, Gough, Durrant and Brown best days were behind them be the time Brian got to Rangers. Had say Gazza and Brian been there in the start of the 90's. With the three foreigners being Hateley, Gascoigne and Laudrup, I think Rangers would've won the European Cup
Anyone who says the Laudrup bros are not world class have a grudge. Like, come on, put some respect on them. This was the pre-Bosman era, where most teams were majority native-born players.
@@flashbackfootball1367 Thanks for sorting it. This is a really sublime effort: there's a ton of stuff here that isn't even mentioned on Rangers' own retrospective of Laudrup, and your own wider, independent view is (perhaps understandably) far more comprehensive. He's my favourite Ger of all time, talent-wise. Possibly only beaten into 2nd by Coisty! I tell you what, though, a Super Ally vid would be awesome 👌 Having said that: I know Rangers aren't exactly your favourites, so in the spirit of ecumenism... might I suggest a look at an oft-overlooked Scotland and Celtic mainMcStay? McStay. Paul. (See what I did there) Seriously, there's a player who was there for the Bhoys through good times and bad. Ideal material.
But mate, it was Martin Jørgensen, and not Lars Jørgensen (who was a Danish handball legend, yeah look it up, it's not netball) who scored in the legendary 3-2 semi where Marc Rieper (west ham defender) hit the bar in the closing minutes, after Peter Schmeichel was beat standing at the penalty spot from a shot from 35 yards twice. And I was missing a slight Burt Reynolds rug picture resemblance from the goal after Roberto Carlos artistic overhead clearing
Even as a Celtic fan I respect Laudrup, was a class act. As someone who grew up in the 90s I used to hate him, a terrible Celtic team always seemed to be undone by him or McCoist. But in hindsight have nothing but respect for him, always came across as a decent guy in a team of very un- decent guys.
I’ve heard people (almost certainly youngsters), shit on him for playing a lot of his career in the Scottish league - seemingly having no idea that the Scottish league was a lot stronger in the past……..declining by the late 2000’s, but before then had some world class teams. Rangers and Celtic in the 90’s were both great teams and produced - and had - some great players. Laudrup certainly being one of the very best ever.
That’s akin to believing the earth is flat, Michael Laudrup operated several levels above Brian. Playing so long in Scottish football illustrated that succinctly.
Both Laudrup brothers were superb footballers, Brian found his club at Rangers with the greatest Rangers side ever Laudrup & Gascgoine oh yes , McCoist & Hateley up front superb team.
The racial abuse that Basile Boli endured in Scotland was nothing short of despicable. I was a child when he signed for Rangers, but I will never forget it.
Michael is the player Andres Iniesta idolised, he’s a global football icon regarded much more highly than his younger brother, who was very good in Scotland, a football backwater.
Please tell me you’re joking.. bang average?? You’re on drugs.. I suppose batistuta and effenberg who were also teamates were bang average too? Pure nonce

Rangers cheated by spending money they didn't have and the club went defunct in 2012 (and thats not the players fault, they wer great players).
Aberdeen fan here, saw Laudrup many times.

Way better than gascoigne

Aw yes, I love it when these videos drop. Solid video as ever, friend! Always from my most cherised era of football.
You are the best football channel on RUclips by far! Keep doing what you're doing mate and the hard work will pay off.
Id suggest looking at hitc sevens as well

I grew up as a kid watching Laudrup, Hateley,McCoist,Goram and Gazza etc what an era , they will forever be my heros ❤
Great job ! Cheers from France 🇫🇷!
Video so good imma bout to rewatch it all over again 🔥

Absolutely wicked video
What a player Brian was, underappreciated in favour of his brother at times
Grim when you were a truly brilliant player but your brother is up there as one of the all time greats.
Love your documentaries, you and Sam North have taught me a lpt about Scottish football
Awesome Video mate am celtic fan myself but have to say can't argue that exceptional player
Hands down best football channel going

Yep, the closest we got was probably the Red Star Belgrade side that won the Champions League, with many of those players in that team
In Italia 90' they got whopped by West Germany in the group stage but were unlucky to lose to Argentina on penalties in the quarters.

Yet another great video and what a player he was. Top bloke for turning barcelona down for rangers 👍👍👍
Man I would pay to watch your videos daily. Also please make a video about Mark viduka
Great videos to watch whilst playing football manager 😊

Great work.
Laudrup an Mcoist were my favourite players as a kid
At least he won an international trophy with Denmark unlike his brother.
What did Uefa claim that the Copyright claim for cause I remember the 1st video and I didn’t see a problem
Coz in the original, the Euro 92 footage wasn't zoomed in, and the clips were too long basically

First things first: a like now. Then I'm gonna watch it later today once I sit down properly.
Was overshadowed because Micheal was a levels above his younger brother. Brian was top player Micheal was special tho
Probably one of the greatest players in my generation

Brain scared me as a Celtic fan. Was one of the best (top 5) ever to play in Scotland
The racial abuse that Basile Boli endured in Scotland was nothing short of despicable. I was a child when he signed for Rangers, but I will never forget it.
Great video
Didn't Michael Laudrup almost join Liverpool?
This is about Brian not PETER
Yes, he didn't agree with the contract proposal and went elsewhere.
I always thought Brian was the more popular Brother. Surprised to hear it was the other way round. Didnt Brian Play for Bayern?

Michael was the best player barca had and won with real Madrid too. Seems like you know nothing about football
7:23 ‘BRAIN’ LAUDRUP!! 😂
Whoops
M. Laudrup won 5 la liga titles in a row, not four!
Yes but with Barcelona he won 4 in a row which I imagine is what I was talking about at that part of the video
How many times has this been uploaded and then taken down ffs
Taken down once, re-uploaded once
What an great rangers era that was
Re-upload 😊
Do giovani elber, great striker no one talks about.
lars jørgensen lol
19:28 LOL Saltire Alert 😂
Michael was better though
Bang averaged flopped in Italy and England, couple of good seasons in Scotland when Celtic were well off it
Please tell me you’re joking.. bang average?? You’re on drugs.. I suppose batistuta and effenberg who were also teamates were bang average too? Pure nonce
Brian has a European championship medal michael hasnt he couldnt be bothered playing in it
Both good players but never World class.
Amazing the players you can sign when you break the rules.
#EBT
Broke the rules sure 😂
🥱 another sad little fenian commenting on an ex Ger
The fact that people like Laudrup was there is the reason the Huns were relegated for financial irregularities
Regenerated AI pish, but BL could not cut it anywhere other than Scotland, found out elsewhere.
What is regenerated AI pish my friend?
How about we just enjoy the player for what he gave us.
