In Daniel 12: 1-2, it tells is that Michael stands up for His people in a time of trouble that was never such on the earth.
In Matthew 24; 15-31, it tells us that 'the son of man' sends His angels to redeem His elect after "great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be".
In Matthew 24: 31 it states that,
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other".
Who is this ‘He’? Jesus. He sends His angels with a great sound of a trumpet.
In 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17 it states, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
It tells us that the Lord shall descend from heaven with a shout? Who is this Lord? Jesus. The archangel and Lord has the same voice therefore if in Matthew 24 Jesus sends his angels with the sound of a great trumpet and the archangel is synonymous with the archangel then they must be the one and the same person.
Who is the only one to have power of the devil and his angels? Jesus.
And when he (Jesus) was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? Matthew 8: 28-29
Why is Jesus sometimes refereed to as Michael the archangel? Michael means ‘He who is as God is’; or ‘he who is like God’.
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:17-19
Why was Jesus able to make this statement about seeing satan fall as lighting from heaven? Because Jesus was the one who cast him from heaven. He witnessed it first hand.
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12: 7-9
The same Michael who cast out satan in the beginning (Revelation 12: 7-9) is the same Michael who stands up for God’s people in the end (Daniel 12: 1-3).
Can anyone rebuke the devil except Jesus? No.
Satan is rebuked in tempting Jesus.
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Mathew 4: 9-11
Evil spirits are rebuked by Jesus.
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. Mark 9:25
And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. Luke 9:42
The Devil is rebuked by Michael the archangel
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. Jude 9
