So got used to your Panasonic UX180, I can't stand 720p anymore.
Unfortunately I had to give the 4K camcorder back to Panasonic. I had a nice 1080p60 camcorder that I used to shoot the lion dance footage in Boston but I've been having issues since last month. It got fine when I came home from the lion dance event in Boston until earlier this month in which I started having issues again. I had to use my older Panasonic GH2. It's able to shoot in either 1080p24 or 720p60. I decided to use 720p60 for this video. I decided to take my 1080p60 camcorder to a repair shop today. I hope it wont cost me too much.
I'll hopefully be able to get a nice 4K camera later this year. After using a nice 4K camcorder for a while, it feels terrible shooting videos in lower quality.
I see that you have the Yi 4K action camera. That's a nice camera for very little money. Perfect for shooting events with. The Yi 4K + that'll release later this month will be capable of shooting in 4K at 60 frames a second. All for around $300. They also have a nice handheld gimbal that they are releasing. The new 4K + combined with the handheld gimbal would make an awesome combination.
Sorry to hear that. Yes, the yi4k is pretty nice and very pocketable.
The nicest part is the battery and sd requirement. I am simply using regular class 10 card and battery lasts a bit more than an hour. No zoom is the biggest problem when shooting events.
I have my eyes on Panasonic fz300. It's going to be a good event shooter. It's weather proof, 4k, fast lens f2.8 all the way and less that 500.
You are right about no going back once shot with 4k.
As an advice, I don't think you should spend any more money on an older equipment. 1080p is on its way out and no guarantee can be repaired to the original condition.
