Hey guys! I hope you find this vlog useful, let me know if you have any questions at all. Sorry for the break in videos the last month, we have been moving house! But I should be having plenty more coming soon!
Well done and that last photo of the Giraffe and the setting sun is an amazing capture.
Hey Terry, thanks a lot for the kind words!
Amazing! Loving the vlogs dude, keep it up!
Thanks Henry! Really enjoying doing them. :)
Thanks for the tips, keep making us videos!
Great video Tom. Some amazing shots here mate. Now making me think twice about one day going on a safari. 👍🏻
Thanks Jamie! Oh you should for sure, they are amazing :)
Fantastic Video, Keep up the good work!
Enjoyed your video. I watched it as we were getting ready to head for Kenya. What an incredible experience.
Seems like it was such an amazing experience mate! That Balloon ride looked absolutely incredible!
Thanks Neel! Yeah For sure it was an epic trip!
Awesome footage and helpful tips mate! I wish I had done a balloon ride safari when I had the chance, not missing it next time, looked great! 😁👌
meletispix thanks Andreas! Yeah that was definitely the highlight for me. At least you know to do it next time 😊
Nice one dude.. Really helpful.. Your works are awesome. Keep doing..
Very kind of you, thanks man!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and trip. We are going to Africa next July. What countries would you recommend that I research and consider for that time of year. We are a family of 6 (ranging in age from 2-60) and everyone is in good shape.
Hey Tom, another great video. I found when I was on safari I struggled with getting a steady shot sometimes, especially when using a zoom lens, do you have any suggestions for better stability? Cheers mate!
Christopher Sharpe thanks a lot Chris! Yeah it can be tricky with telephoto. Firstly, try not to shoot when you are moving, there’s not much you can do to improve that. Resting your camera and controlling your breathing helps. You can get small bean bags which you balance the camera on against the bottom of the car window. They really help. Make sure your ISO is high and your aperture wide to get the maximum shutter speed you can as well 😊 I breath in, pause and then squeeze the trigger really gently so as not to move the camera at all. Hope that helps!
Hi guys thanks for sharing , Wowww!! What aperture did you use in cheetah shot ? Indeed amazing shot !! Thanks for sharing the aperture you use . 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks a lot! It was f2.8 :)
Very well done.
Hi Tom! Any tips for focusing inside of the 4x4, should we take an Monopod or you think we'll be able to make it hand-held? (150-500mm/200-400mm)
Hey Gabriel! I found the best way is to rest on the vehicle, a lot of them you can stand up in and you can rest your lens on the roof. I would recommend buying a small bean bag for this, you can get them from most big camera sites. A monopod works too, but I think the bean bag is more steady personally. Best of luck :)
Thanks, @@tomarcherphoto!
What was the song used in the beginning?
well done !
Can i ask what time of year you went ( it looks wet).! Did you find it made a difference to the experience?
Sean Nicholson hey Sean. It was just a few weeks ago which I believe is the beginning of the wet season. I think it doesn’t make too much difference. It’s certainly a lot quieter then so less tourists around. You can get a lot of flies but it was fine when I went. The other thing is animals are more spread out as in dry season they all congregate around watering holes. But we didn’t have any problem with that. We saw so many animals in the 4 days we were there.
🤗🤓😎😙
Jules Parker thanks! 😘
?? Not sure
