I have no clue why Japanese players always leave after one game, but if I had to guess I'd say they feel it's more polite not to contest somebody's win. Like here in North America you get the "run it back" kinda salty mentality which might make people want to keep fighting the same opponent they lost to, but in Japan that might be more socially unacceptable so they don't want to seem like that.
Seems weird to have a mentality like that. Especially when most of the ppl playing are trying to get better. Playing a set at the very least gives ppl the opportunity to start noticing and punishing patterns, which is really at the heart of competitive. It’s also why a lot of ppl don’t play more than one 🤷
