I have a pair like this with a different style steel spring. I was told by scout crafter they would bang on the threads of the bolt so the nut wouldn’t back off. I’m halfway through the restoration and can’t reassemble it because the square bolt doesn’t seem to wanna go back in its hole, let alone the nut screwing back onto the gauled threads. Any fix?
