- In this episode "Realize A Workshop In An Old Stone Cabin", we return to the cabin after a new weather alert for hydrogeological risk. We had to leave the car and walk to the cabin for safety, but that didn’t stop us from getting to work. We started clearing out the larger unit of the cabin to set up a workshop, which will help me be more productive and efficient with the projects. Everything has been made with scrap or recycled wood-everything can have a second life.

Hello Alex & mrs. - wow! The workshop in the making. An excellent idea for extra space accommodations. Noticing your fur friend is being attentive as well, hahaha! The space you are working on now will make your offgrid cabin even more bigger & safer. A decision well thought of.
Doing things safely but surely is really the best decision you both have made.

Hi Monica and Alex - I have finally caught up to date with your videos - great to be up to date! Love the work you are doing. The living area is now looking very cosy and, hopefully, weathertight. The workshop is coming along, the plastic sheeting should keep the worst of the 'indoor' rain from coming through. I agree with the other comments that seeing your 'house guest' the dormouse is always entertaining! Keep up the entertaining videos, but as always stay safe.

We hope so and we should revive them. We will keep 90% of all the beams, treat them against woodworms and renew them one by one.💪

I know it's supposed to be a workshop for now but after tidying up the place, the room looks nice and spacious. With your creative skills, it has the potential to become great one day. I'm really looking forward to "fixing the roof." I believe it's safe to some extent, but it looks a little bit sketchy. Yes?
The roof is safe, however the beams need to be treated and fixed...we hope to be able to do this safely as soon as the good weather returns

Thanks for watching. These weeks we share a little less material because we are clearing out a lot of things that are not even nice to look at, old mattresses etc... plus the weather is not helping, but don't worry, a lot of new things are coming!

That's a door mouse they hibernate about 7 months out of the year, they love to make a nest in insulation.

Hi Monica and Alex, good to see you have a workshop, so you can do some work inside when the weather doesn't allow you to do it outside. Do you think you will stay in the cabin when there is a regional weather alarm in the future?
Yes, our goal is to stay here, the cabin is safe, the problem is the dirt road that connects it. At the moment we don't have a pantry big enough and we haven't moved the cats and other things here yet to be able to stay permanently, so during alerts we prefer to evacuate so as not to get stuck. But if we have to think about the future we see them here absolutely, in any case.
