  • Go to my website to get my all-natural Pest Control Guidebook
Look, gardening doesn't have to be complicated, so I'm here to give you all the garden hacks.
For all-natural pest control, grow garlic next to your leaves. Garlic, onions, and chives all put off a strong smell that will deter pests from your leafy greens.
I love planting garlic with my swiss chard and the best part is this pesticide tastes amazing on pasta

All you need now is some olive oil, some of that chard, and a pan! 😉 Thanks for the tip.

I wondered why this season my potted plants on deck didn’t have ANY problems w/caterpillars or any pest I could tell. They especially like onions & tomatoes, even okra some. I kept checking everyday & one time I brushed the CITRUS Geranium I had nearby & smell was so strong. It’s called a mosquito plant w/citrus scent.
Have believed that was reason - proved correct just 10 days ago. Had a great producing tomato plant in pot. I moved the citrus one night to keep mosquitoes away. Forgot it for 3 days. I look at plants EVERYDAY, generally several times. 2nd morning I noticed my tomato plant had tops eaten off like caterpillar. Searched & nothing. Next day WORSE, some stalks eaten way down & leaves & flowers gone! I realized I had moved the citrus plant. Quickly returned it & no more damage so that has to be it! But now all my tomatoes are exposed bc no leaf covering. These were the little green/black caterpillars that come early in season. And no aphids on leaves either . And no damage to ANY Herb plant either that was nearby. Planning on putting some of these all over garden next year & see if it works there as well. I also had garlic in ground next to okra & onions in ground & NO PESTS in the in ground either. So I’ll plant some of those too. Only prob I had this year was ONE squash vine bore but caught it early. Been a great season. Plan on redoing some potatoes as I have until Nov before any cold comes. See how they do as later plant. It will start cooling in October, so we’ll see. Especially since Idaho is curtailing WATER from abt 500K acres of POTATO FARMERS. Many are saying they will go bankrupt & those farms whose water is already shut off, their crops are already dying. These are the producers, not the home gardens/farms.
    THANKS for your guidance!!

    Will it help with slugs?

The chipmunks don't care that they don't like it. They chop off all the garlic greens first thing in the spring.

It did very little for keeping away pill bugs ... They even ate the yellowing foliage!
