Everything was like 30% normal until you hooked up the 53 footer 😂😂 It looks like something out of a fever dream, I love it!
haha I had no size reference in automation XD I really should have put something in for size comparison XD

@@fillman86 thanks
The exposed crank is the chef's kiss. I would not want to sit on top of a 10L one-cylinder, the vibrations would probably mess up your spinal cord😬. I could actually see this thing being used to pull construction loads, and it could double as a crane if it was hooked up to a pulley
oh yeah, a crane version! I initially saw it at a mine or something :)
these early-motoring themed builds you do are some of the most fun. Would be amazing if you did several like a mini-series and then had a 1900s showdown/series of challenges at the end!
maybe, but I want to get back to f1 first
@@fillman86 oh yeah the F1 series, totally do that first it's the best/longest running series on the channel
It'd make Gizmo proud
Just imagining a 1898 car meet with these shooting flames
then someone leaving the parking lot gets over enthusiastic and mustangs it out and crashes into a buggy in slow motion :P
Holy moly. The moment I saw it at 8:25, it blew my mind to smithereens.
I can personally FEEL the little perfectionist moments you went through, in thinking "that's alright, but what if I added this..."
I feel it. It's exhausting.
haha I did keep having moments of "maybe I'll just do this" :P there was even more I wanted to do too XD
The fact that this can pull such a huge load is awesome! What a neat little old truck.
I'm glad you like it, though I feel like I'd be able to do a much better version of this now.... oh man.... I'm imagining so many things now!!
I was looking into the code this week as I wanted to build a car that was piston driven like the old steam trains, I was struggling so thank you for this video it’s helped a lot man.
TBH the overrun of the engine sounds like a jake brake on a truck LOL 18:02
I agree, but I think a lot of the sound is that the cam lobe separation was similar to one by standard XD
that's exactly what i was thinking lol
10 liters, 1 cylinder? Sounds like you made a roadworthy Lanz Bulldog.
haha someone was already telling me about that... I wish I could do 2 strokes in engine sim :/ and in beamng too with its diesel reverse function :P
Benz..."Who wants a Maybach?" Today, on "Pimp Mein Altes Wagen!"
This is art and as such it has amply fulfilled its purpose.
It is a thing of beauty, Fillman!
And, there are tillers available as part of a mod for Automation. "Gizmo's Prewar Fixture MEGAPACK [4.27]" I think has them.
oh bummer, I wish I had that mod when I was making this!
I'm glad you liked my creation :P
The model for that connrod and counterweight is brilliant lad, and even tho it doesn’t move properly, it looks sick 👍
thanks, once I got over the fact that it doesn't work as intended, it's still really cool to watch work!!
This is an awesome vehicle!
I wish BeamNG had drivers, because this looks very odd with the empty bench, but that is not your fault. The vehicle is physically sensible and looks great, 10/10!
I theoretically could put a driver in, but it'd be jank
Now I want to see what an upgraded version of this would have looked like. Like if whoever built it weren’t restricted by patents, or if it was built from scratch by some enthusiast in the present day.
Also, what if you slapped a turbocharger on that thing?
haha I probably won't be revisiting this mod. It was fun, and beautiful, and now it's time to put it out to pasture :)
This is really cool I love vintage machinery and just watching every part work.
yeah, I wish I had more control over the rotation of the crank-axle :/
but still, it is really cool to watch!!
goofy ahh car 💀💀💀
goofy? bro I love this car!!
Lmao goofy ahh car 💀💀💀
Make it goofy makes it better tbh 💀
7K??? fill, man. your doin something right lmao. keep up the hard work, its been a treat to watch your channel grow, im looking forward to keep watching it grow into the future. #1 beamng youtuber in the next 5 years? jk jk ur already the best
thanks, there was a big blip in growth around engine sim, and it gave me over 2k subs in a month, but it's dying down now. Let's hope that it doesn't go exactly back to the way it was :)
its just, you are Mumbo Jumbo of BeamNG(Automation) and Im happy someone is. Im happy because there is someone who breaks the limits. i can finally fully breathe out. Thank you for putting all the effort into your beautiful works of art. Thank you for doing this!
haha I had to look up who that was :P I wish I was also their size :P
So this thing is basically a sort of predecessor to the "Lanz Bulldog" Tractor from the 1920ies. That thing had, in its most powerful version, a horizontally mounted 10.3 L "Hot Bulb" Akroyd style two stroke engine that produced between 20-56 HP, depending on the actual configuration.
yeah, I've heard that from many people about the 2 stroke diesel :)
Lmao the exhaust pipe sounds like a semi trucks jake brake XD
Well done filman. Well done. This is truly a grand feat of gaming.
:) thanks, soon you'll be able to download it, and feel the feet of greatness that is this monstrosity :P
The fifth wheel 😂 😂 imagine if you took this through a time machine back when people had these cars
man there was so many quirky vehicle back then, including a CVT made out of a wheel of paper :P
This is next level stuff Fillman. Thank you for your consistent unique content!
thanks man, I doubt I'll be making something quite so unique again :P but we'll see
man these videos are so fun, i love just watching you create things like this
thanks man, sometimes I make something like this which is a pure labour of love :)
Hey man, gotta say, awesome content! Still not a fan of the aspect ratio of 500:9 but what you have managed to create here... respect!
I'm planning to change to 16:9 in the future, but not right now. I'm glad you like the content though :)
In Germany we have a tractor. It's called Lanz Bulldog and it was produced with a 10L 1 Zylinder engine.
The Lanz Bulldog is exactly what I was thinking.
American truck engines typically go up to around 7 liters with the biggest ik of being the dodge with the 10.3 viper engine
8.3L*
both my trucks have a circulating ball type steering its by far one of if not the most durable steering mechanism out there its what all big trucks and large heavy machinery uses.
really? it looked so fickle, but I suppose I have to look more into it
Bro the fact that the cylinder doesn’t spin with how fast it sounds makes the immersion tearable 😂
yeah, I could probably do it better now but back then it was the limit of my skills
I figured I would mention that the fifth wheel was invented in 1915. And that the type of trailer you hooked it up to was likely unrealistic for the era, this "truck" probably would have a different and simpler way to attach stuff to it. So the fifth wheel would have probably been an aftermarket thing.
fifth wheels where a lot older than that, but you're right to say that it would have been a different form back then, and that massive trailer was sooo wrong XD
The cackle at "Brakes?" just made my day.
The dream of the 1890s is alive in Portland...
2:40 where we're going, we dont need brakes.
a mortuary?
I would love to see you make More Oldtimers, like old Citroens or Mercedes, maybe something from ww2 like a sherman tank, a panther or planes? Still very cool !
well I have done a few already, and a bunch of 50s f1 cars if you are interested in that :)
Well done lad shame your channel is so small definitely deserve more with the overall quality of the video
thanks man, I think the biggest issue that I don't know how to bait clicks :/
@@fillman86 honestly mate keep it like that, to many RUclipsrs do that, also post your vids on related sub-Reddits I think that’ll help some
That part where you mentioned Spintires makes me wish that game was still available to everyone and not just us ones who bought it early on.
tbh mudrunner is the same game, but just better in most ways
@@fillman86 I liked the graphics/art style in spintires a bit more, plus it had more abstract DLCs.
pirating might be the answer to them, especially with working multiplayer nowadays
If you attach a shovelhead to the conrod you'd have a "great" land plow. Btw where's the fuel reservoir?
oh man, I was going to put a drum on it, but I completely forgot!!!

Rediscovering George Stephenson's crank axle I see!
yep, this was very much influenced by train tech :)
(though no intended direct copying)
its basically a hit and miss engine. they are typically like 20L 15hp and unlimited torque. they where mostly used for powering factories where you couldnt use water wheels for power or in tractors. i have seen someon make a car with one. the video is called redneck gokart :)
You basically made a Lantz bulldog but without the 2stroke aspect of it
10L 1Cylinder? Germans: Hold My Beer Hans! The Lanz Bulldog with an 10.3L 1 Cylinder two Stroke Diesel 45Hp that can Run at 0 RPM
Good Video about the Lanz= ruclips.net/video/pYeEotP_c3M/видео.html
made me think of the lanz bulldog tractor that can actually run at "0" rpm
This reminded me of " jugad" the makeshift vehicle in India that uses an one cylinder diesel generator engine
funny you should say that, because a lot of inspiration for the engine was really old indian/pakastani 1 cylinder generators :)
I love the detail
What if you had 3 of those engines in between the frame rails 120 offset turning the rear axle. 30 liters and huge amount of torque. You may need to have dual skinny tires in the rear.
Do a boxer twin version that revs to like 2000-3000RPM and has a 2-speed transmission, but also make it like 8 feet wide and long enough to have like a wraparound couch in the back. Basically an 1890s-1910s bus or party wagon.
haha at that rpm the connecting rod would shear the crank shaft in half XD
@@fillman86 Ha-HAH! You fell into my trap! What you should actually do is as I described, but halve the stroke so it keeps the same displacement, just twin cylinders and more RPM. Also, screw it, give it good parts, too. I mean, still make it heavy, sure, but give it high-quality mechanical injection/carb and such and just limit the RPM to the like 2000 or 2500 or so that it needs to be.
@@Drunken_Hamster haha I don't think "trap" is what you meant :P I think you mean rabbit hole

I like how fillman called it a truck.. but it doesn't look like it, it's a 1920s piece of old junk!😂😂
are you thinking of an american version of a truck? because this fits the definition :/
also this would have been the late 1880s early 1890s
@@fillman86 true true i actually wasn't thinking about that..
Ok that's awesome

Sick build fill
thanks bro :)
pretty cool ... so many make mods and videos but no one got such ideas
I just wish I could have done better :(
@@fillman86 oh no. You`ve still done so much
To have so many and partly crazy ideas is so cool, and to share all this staff is great
And it comes more too
if you like big engines look at the Brutus from the museum Sinheim
These early large gas engines may have been weak in horsepower and low in rpm, but they definitely didn’t lack in torque.
yep, because power is a derivative or torque and rpm, so the lower down the power peaks, the more torque it has :)
yo i got the mod looks awesome i like how it was towing a semi flatbed lol
haha yeah beamng's trailer selection isn't great :P and I'm an idiot haha
@@fillman86 naw ya not an idiot and I like how there are performance parts for it too I made it do 70 mph lol
Here in the states, my new work van has a 6.6L V8.
Vulcanization happened an entire 40 years prior to the invention of the car.
well poop. All I knew was the first road cars used white tyres, so maybe it didn't get used on cars right away
My 59 Edsel has recirculating ball steering.
yeah, I'd just never heard of it before, and I didn't really look into how it works :P

Is it possible to do a really nice, deep rumbling vtwin harley? It sure would be a challenge to make a motorcycle in beamng, but I believe the sound is the most important thing.
it would be, but making it lumpy in beamng is a different question... and I don't think so. At least it would sound right :)
Why make a motorcycle whan you could just put it into a small light car, like a bolide or sunburst?
@@jwalster9412 because it won't be much of a challenge
@@hubbanubba4301 it would make a great repo mod though.
@@jwalster9412 or a Morgan three wheeler
Actually if its a single cylinder it could be made to run in reverse. Consequently a large enough single cylinder engine can run at 0 rpm.
you're thinking if it was diesel and 2 stroke, in which case it wouldn't matter how many cylinders it has
broom broom
It sounds more like a two-cilinder than a single-cilinder engine..
Is it my ears, or is there someting in the mods that don't really work on a 1-cilinder?
I think it's purely because the rpm of the axle doesn't match the rpm of the engine sound, so it's throwing you off
how jank? yes
very :P
The Landini s.l. 50 has one 12.2L big fat piston
my goodness that's giant!
Do you use the normal engine simulator or do you use the engine simulator with the sourcecode or repository? I'm trying to get the second option to work hut I don't know what apps to use to open it.
I download the normal version. I'm not really a regular github user :/
It's a Lanz bulldog
seemingly, except not a tractor, diesel, or 2 stroke :)

There's no way to sync the piston with the engine sound?
there might be, but after days of researching, I wasn't able to find one -_-
the modding documentation is pretty bad
You forgot to mention in the title it`s a videogame
I don't get why people are having such an issue with that title? It's to point out that the thumbnail wasn't a photograph... but if people could tell easily, then they wouldn't click... meaning most people at first, were fooled :/
Do U know thec Tractor Brand Lanz Bulldog ? I know the have from 1 Liter to 25 Liters of one Zylinder 2 Stroke Diesel, and the Sound awesome! Maybe u can Model one for BeamNG.XD
yeah, a bunch of people have told be about it, but I don't have the skill to do the key defining feature, the reversible engine. TBH I'm not entirely sure if it is possible, but if it is, it'd be done almost entirely in .lua
how do you make it have animated parts?
haha you don't, this was a nightmare!! If you're still determined, look into a thing called "rotators". I wasn't able to get this to work perfectly, so you won't get much information from me :/
