My theory is that the swamp guy could be rocks clone or rocks himself. Rocks' silhouete looks a lot like him. And would be a good twist since he's been with strawhats since the start of the timeskip

I have a crazy theory about that. What if what makes Blackbeard a failed clone (other than his hippo like rotundness) is the fact that he is unable to dream, both figuratively and literally? He doesn't have any dreams of his own, simply going through the same motions as Rocks of gathering powerful pirates to conquer the world because... well, that's what Rocks did.
That might also explain why he can use multiple devil fruits. During Enies Lobby Jabra says that a body can't contain more than one devil (which is presented more as superstition than fact), but Vega Punk explains that a devil fruit was the result of someone's dream. Maybe it's the fact that a person cannot contain more than one devil fruit dream as well as their own dream, which is why Blackbeard can have multiple since he has no dreams to begin with.
This would also make him a greater mirror to Luffy. The man who dreams of being King of the Pirates, gathers a crew of dreamers, and has the power of the god Nika who was the champion and embodiment of the dreams of the people, verses the man incapable of having any dreams of his own.
I dunno, just a thought.

Personally, especially after 1073, I would most probably side on the "Weevil was Whitebeard and Stussy's son that died young and Stussy had him clone to cope" side rather than him being simply a Whitebeard clone. That would fit with everything : the fact he is 35 years old if I recall, so younger than the disbanding of the Rocks, the weird scars he has as if there were some stitching but also how Adamant Buckin is that he is Newgate's real son and how he was so close to his crewmembers and called them family, just imagine how hard the scene of him picking up Ace's beads would hit if he lost his biological son and coped by treating his crew members as his sons instead ..... and he now has to relive all of this again

Ok this is a really heartwarming theory but it’s disproven easily unfortunately. Marco straight up says that Whitebeard had no biological family, and Marco would realistically know if Whitebeard had a son at some point. Even if it was too hard to share, at some point Marco would’ve found out about this. I think this proves that Weevil is a clone or something, not a clone of Whitebeards biological son. Amazing theory tho whitebeard is the best😢

That could be interpreted using the fact that shirohige called his crew his family so as GLR stated, he might not be a biological son but a clone
I forsee a point in the story where Bonney uses an alternate future form to effectively turn into Big Mom and impersonate her. I suppose she could even do the same thing to other characters to "reveal" their identities as clones. I just hope the story doesn't get too clone happy and allows characters to be themselves.

I wouldn't worry too much. Even with the clones we have now, including the seraphim, they all act marginally different from their real counterparts. With how most characters in the OP world act I doubt they'd really even care if they're clones.
I'm going to guess Kuma's real daughter died in some tragic accident (the real bonney), but before her death, Kuma was somehow able to push the memories out of her and into a clone body of big mom (whose DNA was all vegapunk had for a girl besides stussy). some circumstance like this may be why kuma didn't want her to know the truth at any cost.

I think that's unlikely as the Rocks pirates were a meritocracy, with a hierarchy based on strength and though I doubt Xebec fought every crewmember to asses their strength I think he would have had to be strong enough to defeat each ne of them.
The fact the kaido was his apprentice tells me he wasn't weak

And considering that I personally buy that Buggy is Rocks' son, I think there is an actual possibility the Cross Guild is the Rocks pirates v2 (it never even crossed my mind prior, I still think he most likely was a powerhouse but that would be a funny twist)
To add to the clone theory, it could be that Stussy is the only clone we know of that is a exact genetic copy of the original and the others like weevil and possibly Bonney could have other DNA mixed in. For example, Bakkins may have insisted that some of her DNA got mixed in with White Beards making weevil their artificial love child and validating her of also being Weevil’s mother. It also explained how Yamato could be a clone of Kaido and look nothing like him (and explain a lack of a mother). Additional it could explain the theory of Black Beard being multiple people.
Maybe that's why Yamato is so adamant the she's a he

As for the mother. Could very well be another Oni. One thing comes to mind. What if this is what the God Valley incident was all about? MADS, in the place where they played God, were exhibiting their results to the Celestial Dragons, and the Rocks crew decided to crash the party and steal the subservient, but equally powerful, versions of themselves for themselves. And this was a big enough threat that Roger and the WG had to work together to stop it, and for the Im to nuke it to cover up that the experiments had ever happened.

Weevil and Bonney being clones I can get behind by but I really hope this clone business doesn't get out of hand. I really hope Oda doesn't introduce too many clones as it can cheapen the story imo.

Agreed. Because let’s be real anyone without a confirmed parentage could be a clone and we’ll does it matter at this point if they are or aren’t. I mean assume that Weevil and Bonney are clones does that take away from who they are because Bonney is not Big Mom and Weevil is not White Beard. The other logical clone candidate would be Yamato (we don’t know the mother and we know Kaido was experimented on and had sympathy for others being experimented on as evidenced by him freeing King) but Yamato is nothing like Kaido. So it might not effect the story too much since the clones are their own person (minus the seraphim)

Bonney being a Big Mom clone would interesting. Given what we recently learned about her powers, it'd wouldn't be all that farfetched to see her say unlock an alternate form on par with Big Mom proper in likeness and power level. Doubly so if she were to learn the truth about herself ( assuming this were the case, just for harmless speculative sake ).
This will be spectacular if they make a present-day rocks crew of clones
There's also the possibility to Weevil being some attempt at making a clone of Shiki and Whitebeard combined, which might have led to him looking the way he does. His long blond hair and lips are really reminiscent of Shiki while still having Whitebeard's signature mustache.

Another possibility for Bonnie's origin IMO is that her parents ARE Connie and Kuma, but Connie is the failed Big Mom clone, and Kuma was her protector and they eventually fell for each other like Rebecca's parents did. Maybe the defect in the attempt to clone Big Mom was faster aging and/or simply being far weaker, which resulted in Kuma tracking down Bonnie's Devil Fruit in an attempt to cure her like Corazon did with Law, but somehow Bonnie ended up eating the fruit instead somehow. And given how much the World Government and Marines care about bloodlines and their potential, (which is a nice parallel to how little most of the good characters in the series care about it) it makes sense that someone who is technically the daughter of a Warlord and Emperor would absolutely be considered highly dangerous by them.

I think it's more likely Bonney is a clone of Kuma's dead daughter moreso than a clone of Big Mom.
On one of my recent videos, i mention that Weevil is the combination of Whitebeard + Shiki + Kaido, since he shares very unique traits to him. This could be a way for rocks pirates to be tested on or used to create a weapon known as Bakkin's son.

I feel like in the case of this cloning, that MADS was absolutely making clones of the Rocks as a precusor to the Seraphim, but it might - at least in the case of Weevil, might be more like MGS where maybe the original Stussy served as Weevil's mother technically, and maybe even to other clones.
I think killer could be a great candidate for a shiki clone. He got the blond hair, same beard style, and both are skilled swordsmen. Without his mask, his face still had bandages around because maybe we'll recognise the similarity without the bandages?

I've been thinking we had all we need for the blackbeard/xebec link since the clone information came out. I like the theory tying the rest of these characters in to it. Bonnie still seems weird because shes kinda small but i've always thought she had striking similarity to the young pictures of big mom.

I also wonder if once they cloned the rocks pirates they then needed a failsafe incase those pirates ever got out of hand as well and they couldn't control them. So they looked to a great marine to help out, one who had fought and defeated them before in the past..... explains Luffys lack of a mother, a later clone done after the original rocks pirates, so a more perfected clone

I have wondered if the cloning angle would be like the usual storyline of taking something or someone powerful and recreating them to "control" that power.
I could see kind of why they wouldn't want to make clones of a strongest pirates because they were very hard to control but now that you have clones of them with their style and most of their power they're a lot easier to deal with and control

So what if Dragon is a "failed" clone of Rocks. He was given to Garp by the world government to dispose of and Garp couldn't bring himself to do it so "raised" him as his own? He is named Dragon because Garp did a Luffy, and to try and disguise the fact it was a clone of Rocks, named him after Kaido instead, because nobody could ever put those two dots together!!! It could also lead to a situation where you have Luffy vs Blackbeard, a child of the clone of Rocks vs maybe the child of Rocks.
Dragon was already in his 20s when GV happened. I find this theory very unlikely.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if miss Buckin was a previous queen of maiden island even before shakky. She fell madly inlove with young whitebeard and joined the rocks crew because of him, at some point she stole his DNA and made vegapunk impregnate her with WBs child, and still to this day she claims WB loved her.
One thing I would note here, they may never have been intended as exact clones. It is a reasonably common concept in Japanese lit to use the term clone for things that aren't actually full clones. Probably the most notable example I can think of is Cammy from Street Fighter II who is supposed to be Bison's clone, but obvious is not a full clone, but only a partial one. So this could easily explain why all these clones look a different from their original versions, they were never intended to be perfect clones, but rather tweaked ones.
I'm kinda afraid that it might turn out that Luffy is Roger's clone. It's highly unlikely due to other evidence, like why would Garp then lie to him that he is Dragon's son and so on. But then again relationships between Garp, Dragon and Luffy are kinda murky and Ace turned out not to be Luffy's biological brother despite their physical and medical similarities.

I get they're not identical, but is it possible for them to have diff eye colors? Did you see Yamato? I guess Yamato was the clone of Kaido himself.. If she's truly Kaido's biological daughter i believe he won't be that hard to her. To be fair, Kaido treat Yamato like she is not a human after all.. Kaido imprisoned Yamato in Onigashima for years, because he wanted her to be the guardian of Wano after he die. Kaido believes one day Joyboy will come to Wano (to activate the Pluton) and he entrust his clone to give some "test" to future candidates of Joyboy

@@Archontasil Practically no human has ever been cloned yet so i can't answer this question precisely. But some people said we can make female version of a male clone by replacing one of the X chromosome and made the duplicate. After all, this is One Piece. Everything could be possible. Even in One Piece universe, travelling the time is something that possible to do. Who knows tho

This theory is great. I like the idea and I wish it was pushed to more characters. What if MADS was trying to clone the worlds strongest criminals of every generation. Most were failures. They dont look like the original but they have a similar trait. Weavels and white beard. Bonnie and big mom. (I dont know if they were able to make giants until after MADS was disbanded) I wonder if any of the rocks pirates were imprisoned after the god valley incident. Then the cloning project began but maybe MADS is the reason behind event. Rocks learned of the secret program and attacked them for it
I do not think Oda does that with BB and Rocks. Xebec probably did die in God Valley meaning he did not have a clone, but maybe he did have a child and to protect that innocent child from experimentation and such, Roger took him in, a man that would go on to be known as Fearland "Red Hair" Shanks

To be honest with the reveal of Kuma's ability, he might be a clone of Kaido. Like Vegapunk created a failed clone of Kaido, and to escape his identity as a revolutionary, Kuma repelled his conscious and devil fruit into Kaido body. After that, he adopted the clone of Big mom. It sounds stupid but with all these reveals, I think it's a fun theory.

Now that the cloning theory is coming together, I feel it is possible that Blackbeard is a clone of Rocks D. Xebec. Also, what if Monkey D. Dragon and Luffy are Garps clones but they took on the mission of their relative ancestor Joyboy. Might explain why they dont have mothers unless thats the true secret of Crocodile being a woman thing. Who would be Caesar's clone? Eustass Kid?
To be fair, every single time someone shows the silhouette of Rocks, first thing that comes to my mind is Dragon. I don't know why I haven't heard this from anyone else as well. They are visually very similar, they are bouth D and If we are sticking to theory of clones being able to be good, then this would make a lot of sense. As stated by Vegapunk, when he visited Ohara, he mentioned that Dragon is everything but violent, which would comfirm this theory and would explain, how exactly he knows Kuma as well. On top of that, we don't really have any information about Dragon from Garp either, meaning, wether he is his "biological" son or not, he acts like he has nothing to do with him or as if he is a stranger. It's just my thoughts, but does anyone not see the visual similarities between Dragon and Rocks? On top of that, it has been said that Dragon is very powerful.
One funny thing is that although Garp and Luffy looks a like, Dragon just does not resemble any of em.
only thing is based off of logic this theory literally makes no sense. u dont proceed to hype the father of the main protagonist 20 years in only to reveal he isnt the father and is just a clone.that makes no sense and gives no meaning to the story.what i can see happening is that dragon together with vegapunk trying to clone the rocks crew to help fight the government for a good cause and not the evil one from the original crew which just wanted to take them out to continue their evil rule!
@@jjlove2725 There has been a lot of theories based only off of logic and being proven to be true. I believe this could be possible, simply because, at this point, everything is possible. Although Dragon is Luffy's father, doesn't mean that this is impossible. He is still shrouded in too many mysteries and too much is still unknown. What I find interesting tho, is thay in moment of revealing a lot of mysteries, Dragon was seemingly brought back into the spotlight when Vega punk told us very important information for the story. As I mentioned before, Dragon shares more similarities with Rocks than with his family, and In video stated, there has been so many found families in this story, almost it seems more than actual biological families.
Garp and Luffy being so similar is actually one of the things that make me question this theory. They are clearly blood relatives, so Luffy being the son of Rocks clone makes no sense, unless the biological link between them is Luffys unknown mother.
We also would have to make sense of the timeline somehow. Dragon was present when Roger got executed, so he would have to have been created somwhere between God Valley, asuming that's where Vegapunk got the Rocks DNA, and Rogers execution.
Finally, at least from what it seems, Dragon is acting on his own and out of free will entierly, and knows a lot of stuff about the Goa kingdom for example. Even Stussy as a succesful clone is loyal to Vegapunk and acts to his comand, then again Bonney, asuming she is a clone of either Big Mom or a Kuma relative, could dismiss that entierly.
I will however also say that it's definitely not impossible. We know now that Vegapunk can make succesful clones. Garp has taken in Coby, Helmepo and Rogers son, he might as well have taken in a Rocks clone. Anything is possible in OP.

When you bring clones into it then the theories could just go insane. I am starting to think the reason why we never saw Luffy's mum is because he doesn't have one, what if Luffy is a clone. I am thinking either a clone of Dragon himself. Or purhaps Luffy was a more successful clone of Rocks.

Yamato could possibly be a clone as well. Especially how Oda never mentioned her mother and Kaido's treatment to her as a son rather than accepting her being a girl. She could possibly be a "failed" clone. Having the same blood, but different figures. (Just like Weevil)
I don't think Kaido treated her as a son, she wanted to be called that, not because she identifies as male but that she indentifies as and with Oden and wants to be like him to the point she want's to be him and because Oden is male, she calls herself that in order to be that much more like him. Kaido just went along with it.

I have a theory, vegapunk was the member of Rocks pirates. Think about this :
The Stussy was the member of MADS and she was a member of ROCKS pirates. That explaining how he get the Whitebeard, Stussy and Linlin DNA for clones. And that explaining how Queen become a crew member of
Kaido. And in Albert(king) flashback, we saw that Albert was in Dr.Vegapunk laborotory. He also a very old men, and he can be the same age as shanks, when he was in Roger crew. (Sorry for mistakes im from Russia)
