It was a terrible injury. I ran in to that guy at the hospital a couple days later. He was in a lot of pain and I know it must have been pretty bad because he is a tough ass dude.

thanks for posting this. I did this very ride last weekend and had a blast. One quick question...what contraption are you guys using to communicate with each other while you're riding and capturing the sound on the gopro?

Sena 30 to communicate to each other. Then gopro hero 7 black with the audio dongle and a little microohine.

Awesome I've been looking for a way to get down from mountain. So this trail will fit a sxs? Also do you have one that shows the "chute" ? How to get down to the river? Any printable maps I dont have gps...

Holy crap. I have very little experience riding sand dunes, but I had no idea it can be that soft to swallow your entire front tire! Damn! Why the heck wasn't it that soft where you landed, right? Hope you're ok.

Thank you, I’m doing much better than those first couple days after that wreck. It didn’t look like much but I landed in just a way that it really messed things up.
The backside of some sand dunes can be super soft like flour due to the wind constantly roiling the sand up. We hadn’t seen rain in almost half a year so it was even more soft. I knew this and it still got me. Lesson of the wreck, when going down the back side of a sand dune, stand up and put your weight on the back wheel.
