Technically i think black is the only game where axle is shown with his arms not mounted into the wheels but holding levers on either side instead, always seemed weird to me
I have been thinking that since Marcus was the winner in the previous year, he was the original driver of Roadkill (the manual states that Roadk1ll's creation is a mystery, Marcus could have abandoned it at the junkyard after his victory, it's not like Calypso would care to tell John Doe about the car's history.) Marcus' wish was to participate again with a giant death machine to have a very good chance at destroying Sweet Tooth's personality (even though he could have wished to escape this world, but he may know Calypso will screw him over unless it is a wish for revenge). He dons the flayed skin of a bull to resemble the demon that wanted revenge on Calypso in TM2, and now Marcus wants revenge on Needles for invading his psyche. Marcus may have seemingly been able to destroy Sweet Tooth, though Needles has a tendency to escape death. I think about the cut to black after the tournament has been won, it's obvious that no ending was planned for Minion, but it could also be the abrupt ending to Black's world, Marcus emerges from that nightmare world and back into the world of TM2/Head-On. His experience in the Black world has left a mark on his mind and remnants of it manifest in the TM2/Head-On world, such as Calypso and Needles resembling their appearances in Black. These are just some shower thoughts I had on this game, lmao.
Dark Tooth is more iconic for 1 reason, theme song. You hear the laugh, the huge motor revving up and the frantic guitar play. It's obvious who's around the corner. If Minion had a theme song, he just might be the best TM boss though.
The guy getting clobbered in Minion's character select screen does look like the Pilot's character model. For some reason my brain always saw that person as Alyx Vance from Half Life 2.
Flamethrower does more damage than the fire balls. I've tested it extensively. Which makes sense if you think about it. You have to be close to use the Flamethrower meaning you have to try to stay close and minion is slower than most cars in the game. The fire balls are also homing like a fire missile. Makes sense they wouldn't be as powerful as the flame thrower.
@dessadoo I did try and did get slaughtered. I'm gonna try to stick with it and do a few runs here and there. A lot about the game is amazing, it is just taking me longer than I'd like to get back into twisted metal.
19:45 The best interpretation of the unlockable characters are they represent ideas floating around in Sweet Tooth's head. Yellowjacket is clearly about his thoughts of his father. Warthog is about other Serial Killers who just WISH they were as good as Sweet Tooth at killing. And Axel represents the surviving family members of those who Sweet Tooth's killed. Plus it'd make sense that you have to unlock the "Ideas" ST has, vs the projections he has on his fellow inmates. Except for Black. IDK about him, he's just black.
@@Deadman_Elit3 Ehhh, Given the one cutscene Black has for his story, Black might just be a feeling he should unalive himself. I don't think ST would worry about the "Darkness" inside him otherwise. And TMB Black is basically seperate from lost Cutscene Black.
@NEEDbacon I'm not saying it's something he's aware of, it's just there. Black is just there, there's no real story or motive behind him besides killing Calypso.
I feel like Minion is supposed to be the idea of "you reached the top of the mountani, and as a reward, ypu can play a character who is so OP he makes the game seem like a joke." He's a reward, he's the dessert of the game. A treat for winning as every character
13:00 Yeah, that's exactly why we at TMA arrange it as such, because someone constantly getting health will not only drag out the game but this will punish new players (who may not know the maps as well.) The point of our game sessions is to try to keep things as balanced as possible, we've had some really amazing and close, intense matches throughout the years. New players, regardless, including me back then, have all been thrown into the fire but they also learn through the experience. I, and other veterans, have always had to express that the game is incredibly difficult, and that new players shouldn't feel discouraged because it really is that tough of a game, the learning curve is brutal, but rewarding. We will absolutely help anyone who plays with us as long as they respect the space and the rules. Also, the TMBO bible video contains so much information on the game, so we always always recommend it to new players so they can witness crucial tips and tricks in action.
I definetly used cheats to unlock minion but he is one of my series favorites. I agree with the tm3 point you made too, if you don’t know where all the healths are by heart, you’ll never be good at that game bc of the ai
10:47 I imagine it's kinda like when Clarkson on Top Gear during the Lorry Challenge painted most of the windows but leaving a slit. The size means you actually could see ahead. But not anything right on your grille. Not that that would matter in TM.
Something interesting for some that might not know: Minion is actually the fastest car in the game. Race him against anyone on Suburbs or Downtown streets and he’ll outspeed them. Just goes to show how inaccurate a lot of these select screen stats are.
I honestly didn’t know that! Makes sense for being a boss character. I’m sure the boss Minion is supposed to be fast so he can cover his stadium quicker but player Minion has no business being that fast lol.
I do like how in some of the character's select portraits you can see other vehicles. In the top left of Brimstones you can see a little of Darkside. Just to the left of Roadkill you can see Mr. Grimm, as well as a bus on his right that doesn't load in when you let the zoom out animation play, only the wheels. And on Minion you can see Outlaw being destroyed. I think Outlaw shows up again on Warhawk's unused character portrait, but I'm not fully sure. Theres an image showing that all the secret characters, minus Minion, are sitting in the same Garage next to each The playable version of Minion is deceptively faster than what the stat screen says. In the manual for this game, which is also Crazy 8's Journal, he states that when he went outside Calypso already had his car waiting for him, somehow. It could be assumed Calypso already has everyones vehicles ready and modified for the tournament when he breaks them out. But that begs the question, did no one untie the man in the back of Preacher's car, or did he stop mid tournament to try and "save" some souls? With the unlockable characters, I kinda wonder why Manslaughter didn't end up on Freeway, because of the Construction Site, or Yellow Jacket on Downtown, since that seems like a logical place to be. Also, why are Yellow Jacket and Axel unlockables if they are also members of the Asylum? Warthog and Manslaughter make sense, but the other two have Asylum Profiles.
Hey alright, thanks for giving Minion a go. Isn't it funny how in games that let you play as boss characters, you almost always tend to play worse even though you should be doing great? It's like the inflated stats make you lose your vigilance and you make a lot of mistakes you wouldn't if you were playing normally. I kinda wish Minion was a tank in this one again. I can't tell if the progression from tank to tanker is clever or dumb.
A fun fact with Minion that you probably already know is the special is different from boss and playable Minion. The fireballs on boss minion doesn't track.
Technically i think black is the only game where axle is shown with his arms not mounted into the wheels but holding levers on either side instead, always seemed weird to me
Every other character: "I'm stuck in an arena with other armed cars!"
Minion: "All these armed cars are stuck in an arena with ME!"😂

Minion is crushing a Guardman's car as he rams his way through the gates of the Asylum.

I can’t unsee it as Alyx now 😂

You get me so excited to pick TM black back up and then I get slaughtered
Yeah it’s a VERY unforgiving game, but if you stick with it for a little bit, it’s extremely fun!
@dessadoo I did try and did get slaughtered. I'm gonna try to stick with it and do a few runs here and there. A lot about the game is amazing, it is just taking me longer than I'd like to get back into twisted metal.
I'VE NEVER NOTICED ALL THE GUNS IN THE SELECTION SCREEN OMG
12:40 thank you kindly for sharing our (TMA's) message Drew. Mad respect for understanding and informing.
Yeah, Very cool Drew!
Hey Killergreen 👋
We appreciate you guys at TMA for keeping TMBO alive. Much love.

Black is just the guy who no matter what, won't speak, so Sweet Tooth has to make up a backstory for him
@NEEDbacon perhaps Black is just the darkness inside SweetTooth. As we all know, Black was a demon in TM1.
@@Deadman_Elit3 Ehhh, Given the one cutscene Black has for his story, Black might just be a feeling he should unalive himself. I don't think ST would worry about the "Darkness" inside him otherwise. And TMB Black is basically seperate from lost Cutscene Black.

They could've made Small Braw Minion a Bully with football gear and the mascot being a bull

Thanks for the information! I appreciate you taking the time to share about TMBO for people who may be intimidated by it (like myself).
Probably outside of the town diorama/Just getting into the town to kill everyone.

Next should be Mr Grimm in all games

Love these TMB playthroughs. Gotta get me a reploca of that massive revolver Brimstone has 😂😂
It’s a smith and Wesson .500 magnum

We need some Thumper vids! Him and Axl from TM2 are my favorites
Just like the engine revs. Suffer
They kept the damage an health the same like he was a boss unlike other games so weak. Ramming his special also the weapons its worth the grind
First 😅
