I am against the Ethereum ETF... If allowed, then every single fly by night crypto will use the power of the courts to get an ETF... that will be horrible for crypto. Bitcoin is a commodity... no central authority or issuer, no pre mine, nobody in charge... it is immaculate conception. Eth had a huge premine, investors that still hold huge amounts and are profiting from proof of stake.
Centralized exchanges have a significant risk to bank runs because there are two means of withdrawal. Fiat and blockchain. This creates a substantial risk. I wish SBF well. His problem was liquidity. I think this helped investors with a reality check. But the problem is that there are two sources for withdrawal and they need to focus on both as both can cause bank runs and if there is too much in one bank, you could basically collapse any exchange in a coordinated attack and cause one if they don't have a good policy on moving to a centralized exchange and they don't have the collateral.

Heidi just to let you know I don't know of these other people that complain they get ripped off when down loading ETH or others. I just know I did and it was the first time I got ripped off (@3,000. fiat) where I didn't know who stole from me.
Ripple would be a fool to launch a stablecoin in the US since the SEC would just sue them again. They are complete idiots to even remain in the US due to 95% of their business is outside of the US. It would make more sense to have their HQ in Singapore where there is regulatory clarity.
It could be even less, I'm wondering if they are going by the amount originally invested. So if the investor started out with 10K, even though their investment had grown to 20K, I'm guessing they would only get the original amount back of 10K. But that's just speculation on my part I have no idea what their valuation is.

Crypto should be regulated just like any other financial assets.
Toby is wrong about the ETH ETF. SEC is going to fight to the death not to approve any more crypto ETFs.
