The Buy Nothing Project is a great way to get to know your neighbors, while also clearing out your own clutter, finding new-to-you items, and giving/receiving for free. Not only items, but you can give services such as offer a ride to the grocery store (a great way to meet a neighbor/friend) or ask for a gardening friend to come over and help you harvest goodies from your yard. You can give, ask, and offer gratitude...and no money changes hands.
