When the King escaped the python's strangle, instead of attacking, it slithered away as it did not want any more of that strangle hold.
@@georgehenderson7783 Ended up with both snakes dying, it slithered away but got itself in the pythons hold again, died eventually, however so did the python due to the king cobras deadly venom.

@@georgehenderson7783 oh wait my bad. This was a different fight, it was another fight between a king cobra and a reticulated python. Both were found dead, the cobra coiled up and crushed, whilst the pythons neck was teared apart
@@georgehenderson7783 Ophiophagus also means snake-eater. King Cobras can over power any snake including pythons and anacondas, using the correct tactics, getting in a few deadly bites aswell.
Instead of fighting, they both should mate and deliver a king python. Which can kill either through poison or by constricting.

Both Python and King Cobra are top predators, and I think they have equal chance of winning. I depends on whether the Python is bitten by the most venomous fang first or the Cobra gets strangled first.
Most likely the cobra will get the chance to strike because it is the aggressor. The python has a small chance of survival in these interactions

Reticulated pythons are the longest snakes in the world but yeah, in this case the King Cobra is larger. I don't think that a full grown King Cobra could handle a full grown reticulated python. I dunno if retics have a resistance at all to King Cobra venom so the King Cobra may be able to kill the retic with its venom but as far as constricting power the King Cobra would definitely be outmatched.
In this video, it wasn't a King Cobra, rather a common cobra. King Cobra have slightly dark complexion with very thin white strips.
@@prash175 They may have slightly different color in that area because alot of species of snakes have slightly different coloration that have evolved to their environment. Some snakes also change color as they get older because it does look like a King Cobra to me.

@@prash175 King Cobras have very distinctive heads and head scales. You can see these in the end of the video so I'm pretty sure that it's a King Cobra.
@@importdevistator you should look at other cobras found in South and Southeast Asia as well.
Saw the unedited video. The cobra was grinding its fangs into that python for a good minute. When it slithered off, they showed two guys picking up the python and its lower portion was dangling straight down as if it were completely dead/no muscle rigor, which was a mark of the paralysis and eventual death that took place after filming. Had they not taken it away, the cobra would've returned to eat it after awhile like a rattler would do to a rat that had run off after the bite.

In general, a Python is very capable of killing a King Cobra. I wouldnt be surprised if the Python beat the Cobra. I actually remember seeing an African Rock Python kill a King Cobra once but it didnt eat the Cobra. The Python just left the Cobra dead. I dont know if Pythons are known to eat other snakes but they sure as hell are capable of killing other snakes.

SINGAPORE - Students and staff at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) were stunned by the rare sight of two snakes locked in battle on a road at the school on Thursday afternoon.
One snake, which looked to be more than two metres long, was locked in the deadly embrace of another, photographs posted on Facebook showed.
Both snakes were captured by NTU pest controllers on Thursday.
The photos on the Facebook page of the NTU Graduate Student Council had been shared close to 1,000 times by Thursday night.
The shots were taken by graduate student Abhishek Ambede, 25, who said that many of those in the Research Techno Plaza, where he works, caught the snakes wrestling on the road near their building.
He estimated that the longer snake was "10 to 12 feet" in length, or about 3.6m long.
After the photos went viral, sources on the Internet identified the longer snake as a king cobra - which is extremely venomous. The snake wrapped around it is thought to be a reticulated python.
The python was shorter, at about five to six feet, Mr Ambede said.
The PhD student in the school of computer engineering in NTU, said this was the first time they have seen or even heard of a cobra on campus.
At least 20 to 30 people were gathered to watch the fight, and some tried to take photos up close, not realising that one of the snakes was venomous, he told The Straits Times.
He took his photos from more than four metres away, with a zoom lens, he said.
After at least 15 to 20 minutes of wrestling, the cobra, which tends to avoid humans, slid away into the bushes.
"Snakes can't hear, but it could have sensed there were many people from the vibrations," he said.
NTU's pest control officers captured the python, which seemed exhausted after its struggle with the cobra, and was slithering sluggishly on the road.
The cobra made another appearance at 4pm, Mr Ambede said, and both the pest controllers and Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) were alerted.
However, the shy reptile managed to slip away again. At about 10pm, the snake was finally captured by pest controllers.
Mr Ambede posted on Facebook at around 10.15pm: "The King has been caught 15 min ago and is safe and sound inside a bag! Its is with the NTU Pest Control people and they will be taking it to the zoo they said! A snake's life saved, and people saved from danger!"
Earlier, he had expressed concern that joggers may unwittingly encounter the cobra. While it is a "timid" snake, "if by mistake someone steps on it, it may attack", he said.
But he stressed that NTU lies in a forested area and he would like to see "animals and people can co-exist peacefully with each other".

It obviously died, he said it had been paralyzed and that is how the cobra got away.
+MrLogicalillogic Careful not to miss the forest for the trees young grasshopper. But in this particular case the python was "released" in critical condition back to the surrounding forest (most likely died) and because of the venomous nature of the cobra they chose to place it in a zoo.

lamakicker69 Officials may have captured it (and these are merely inferences), based on it being on a university campus ie student safety concerns etc. But based on the king being (as per the video) “snake eater,” - while I know it doesn’t and would be silly to make a living off eating reticulated pythons, the fact that it’s a snake eater is fairly suggestive that snakes would be unlikely to develop antibodies (that’s a bit backwards, but hopefully made sense).
Remember, king cobras are almost literally firing missiles that drop elephants with a scratch on the foot. Ak-47s can’t touch that.

Cobras creep me out...cuz they are not only deadly because of their venom but their eyes are sinister looking and they are truly large animals. So large that it's hard to believe they can get that big. Videos don't do them justice either...you can def get an idea of their size but in person you truly appreciate their size.
