Well I simply cry because sometimes the ugliness in the world feels overwhelming... It hurts my heart to see people choose pain to inflict upon one another rather than spreading love & acceptance.
And so I cry while praying for a variety of reasons- there’s probably a mix of my own human stresses but it’s mostly because while I’m pouring my heart out to God, I can actually feel His immense goodness start to diffuse all of my concerns & gradually my spirit begins to feel held & protected. (It’s a surreal experience) But by the end of my prayer, perspective will hit me like new vision and I realize just how grateful I am that the creator of the world- space, time, energy & all that exists in every galaxy is really on MY side and calls me His daughter & created me with intention! Oh my gosh it’s just a lot to absorb sometimes & crying is a form of release whether that be pain, happiness, anger, confusion... it’s an outlet for us to express a feeling we simply cannot verbalize. And for me anyway I feel much better after because I let myself be vulnerable in that moment with God & I allowed myself to be free of walls.
I know that was so long I’ve never been asked that question before lol so I did my best to explain. I hope that helps :,)
wandering_about well thank you! It was a good question! I had to dissect exactly what I go through in those moments which is super healthy in growing self awareness.
Most definitely people aren’t opening up enough! Unfortunately I think too many of us can easily become influenced especially by social media & not even realize it. So unless we filter our minds to think & form opinions individually- we are vulnerable to standing for anything we don’t really even know about. I’m glad you see that too though!

wandering_about For me praying fits every situation & every mood because I’m talking to God & I like to update Him on my life & thank him often especially when things are going great I never want to be someone who only acknowledges Him when it benefits me. So definitely I’ll notice blessings a lot & just simply say a quick “Thank you Jesus I see you & I love you” Though I will say, I am definitely not perfect & there are moments where I’ll just let myself feel defeated & almost don’t feel like praying because I don’t have the energy if that makes sense? I grew up talking to God though & feeding my spirit in that way so I’ve noticed after too long without it, I’ll become deprived & feel more discouraged than the last- so of course I notice that & I’ll pray to have God recharge me & to be filled up again & drain all of the negativity out of me. I don’t always cry when I pray though- it just depends on 1. How sensitive the topic is to me. & 2. Whenever God spontaneously just feels like making his presence thick in the room to where it’s impossible to not be overwhelmed. 😌

I know I'm responding to an old video, but I really appreciate the pastor of a big church like Saddleback too see these words out aloud. I'm an American, and my dad was a pastor for decades. I served in the USAF. However I was not born here, I'm an immigrant naturalized citizen. You won't believe the amount of racism I have encountered in my life and still do to this day. So let me tell you when I say that I appreciate this message so much. It means a lot to me. It gives me hope for America, that it is not dominated by racists.

The scriptures are all about bloodlines and nations. Let’s be real. It’s not what people WANT to hear, but please stop adjusting scripture to make you feel good. It’s not racism, it’s about the descendants of nations. The Bible speaks about who begot whom for a reason. Most people depend on people like this to read their Bibles as opposed to READING their Bibles.

Working with Africans from Africa, itself, is a lesson that Black people are not the hateful bigoted skin tone focused people that the ones in America are for the most part. The ones from Africa are from what I have seen of decent character, hard workers, kind, and respectful. I only wish the ones of the Black community in the US would see their cousins in Africa that make it here are outshining them and not living on the state, rather paying taxes, and tending their lives with personal responsibility. However, harming whites with reverse bigotry is an act of equal wrong, when no one living today was a slave or slave master. Time to get over it and move on...there's a future to build for those yet unborn. We're Americans and unity is our strength.
Lol Africans didn't have to experience the culture and experiences of America. They know their heritage and their ancestors were not oppressed by systemic racism set in place to set African Americans up for failure so that is no comparison.
@@ronneshabutler4651 1964 and 1965 corrected many wrongs with long over-due legislation to kill legalized bigotry, which was the right and correct thing to do. Racism as a term is inane, because there is only one race of people and skin tone is a genetic modification of melanin content to lighten or darken skin to better cope with environmental pressures. Nearly all issues facing black Americans that being descendants of slaves are of their own choosing and making, unable to deal with responsibility. They chose recreate the monster holding them down and put their hands out for more freebies rather than do for themselves and make their lives better. You are victim of your own making. I've seen many friends that are black, but skin tone never comes up between them and I. They work I work, they have, I have, and we're the best of friends. This comment is the perfect example as to why the sin/skin, only one human race approach to this issue is incredibly flawed and insufficient. While the pastor had alot of good things to say and caused people to get all warm and fuzzy with it, there are still racists that don't necessarily know that they're racists because they don't actually "hate" others. This person here for instance, has not openly expressed hatred for Black Americans, but clearly has been conditioned by stereotypical rhetoric. To summarize, he or she doesn't necessary "hate" Black folks, but just wished they weren't irresponsible, lazy, and freeloaders. If only they were well behaved like Africans. Since the Civil Rights legislation corrected "legalized bigotry", Black Americans really don't have anything to complain about. He or she is also expressing that white people are the current victims of racism - a position that the Kl@n took. 🙄
