Sounds a bit strange maybe, but this is my kind of dream car. It’s just more than enough. I would like a shadow edition but with maybe a 4 cylinder engine instead. Whit which camera is it shot. Especially in the end with the exteriot shots you can see that it’s a very high quality camera
@@friedVHSS Half a year after I wrote that comment, I got myself a 2018 120i shadow edition as on my profile picture😅. Extremely happy with it, beautifull car. Next goal would be a M140i or maybe even M2 CS😎
If you're worried about costly maintenance, it's simple. Avoid Continentals unless you find a car from a direct owner who always serviced it on time. Otherwise, consider Toyota for affordable maintenance.
You said that the speakers were okay. Did yours have the standard speakers or the hifi upgrade? I suppose not the Harman Kardon because they sound great!
Can some one please let me know is the inner side of the headlight will work or it’s just for the show in day light light. Only outer side of the bulb is working in bmw 1 series m sport 118d 2019 model
Yes and No. I own a 67 reg BMW 335D. Mine came with "business navigation" which has the smaller 6.5 inch screen instead of the larger 8.8 inch display. You can upgrade the screen, but the larger screen on it's own is usually in the region of £250-£350, plus you need to alter two settings in the ECU using an app such as BimmerCode with a compatible OBD scan tool. I think my car runs on iDrive 4, and although you can update the firmware each time they release a new one, it's just an update for your current iDrive system. You can upgrade to iDrive 5/6 or all the way up to the newest iDrive 8 but with 8 there is a possibility is has a lot of features built in that your car may not support. As I understand to upgrade iDrive you have to replace your car head unit (the radio system within the car), there's plenty of videos on doing this and it also requires a few coding tweaks. a whole replacement iDrive system on the newer ID6/7 typically costs between £400 and £600 even second hand on eBay. To be honest, for what it's worth, I'd just stick with the existing iDrive system. I have all the tools necessary but it's not worth the cost, to give you an idea. The OBD scan tool I have - OBD Link MX+ cost me £119.99 BimmerCode - (the app that allows you to change the required settings in your car's ECU), £30. The new iDrive system - anywhere from £400 to £600 second hand on eBay. As you can see, so far that cost is £549 - £749 to replace it with a second hand used, newer iDrive system. Then you might need extra wiring harnesses or adapters, which could possibly cost you another £50+, depending on what you have already. To be honest unless you want to blow close to £1,000, it's not really worth it. The only upgrade I'm even considering soon is the screen upgrade to go from the smaller 6.5 inch screen to the larger 8.8 inch screen, simply because that can be done for as low as £250-£300. I already have the BimmerCode app and the OBD scan tool so in my case it would just be buying the screen and tweaking two settings in the ECU. Hope this helps.
Can you change the MPG (or litres/100km) display on the bottom right of the speedo?, where it says efficient dynamics, I've seen some with the display you have and some with a white needle
No. It isn't!😃 I own a 118i and it has amazing low down torque and drives better than the previous 4 cylinder. It really is a superb engine when matched to ZF 8 speed automatic.👍
@@derekdalton5658 the engine vibration (especially start and stop during traffic jam) is the one killing. I'm not sure your model is having a better engine mounting where it filters out the vibration better but mine wasn't good and far worse than a 4 cylinder
please produce more videos like this. Would love to see more from your lovely car
It actually produces 144 horsepower, even though BMW says 136. To be honest I'm not a big fan of the blue m-sport trim line on the dash.
u can just wrap it black.. 5 minute work
That engine vibration is supposed to give a sport mode driving experience. I like it! Stop/start is very handy on long wait at traffic lights.

They basically do everything you need - I've gone for the 5 door auto M sport
Still ur dream car?

whats the mpg if exclusive highway driving? looking for a pre reg or maybe lightly used one for a daily commuter
I seen one - 118i Sport Line end 2016 = 7.9 l / 100 km - lady driver - mostly city use with some weekend suburb driving
Nice review man
Hi, do you still owned it? I plan to get 2nd hand but afraid of costly maintenance. Tq

That is just BMW original speaker. Couldn't agree more for Harman kardon, I have it in my Volvo S60 and they sounds brilliant

How this compared to previous 1.6 engine?
Great review! Did you have any trouble with the car?
The car is all good but I let go of the baby 2 years back. :p
@@louisshim4469 did you have no trouble what so ever?

It's a nice car indeed but decided to upgrade to Volvo S60 T8. The acceleration is addictive

Yes, it can be changed
I can't stand the road noise in mine
Could it be due to the tyre that you use?
I don't have any road noise issue.

Pirelli P7 RFT
