I do agree with you, but his music is very very deep. It inspires in a different way. A unique writing style, but isn't that what every composer strives for?
He's not, though. Very thoughtful, quite irreverent, but almost surprisingly "normal." He just has this way of putting his artistic finger on the things we all understand but don't want to say out loud.
