Notes from the composer: "When velvet shedding happens, it is the signal that the rut is beginning. Over the weeks heading to the rut, antler velvet will peel off, usually around mid-August. It is during the peak of summer when the tissue in the antlers mineralizes and hardens as the blood flow is cut off."

Some of David Lang's music is darkly beautiful. (I especially like "Simple Song #3" from the movie "Youth.") But, based on his overall output, he must be one of the most depressed people on Earth.
I do agree with you, but his music is very very deep. It inspires in a different way. A unique writing style, but isn't that what every composer strives for?
He's not, though. Very thoughtful, quite irreverent, but almost surprisingly "normal." He just has this way of putting his artistic finger on the things we all understand but don't want to say out loud.
I'll never go to Supercuts again.
