Calvin and Hobbes was a huge part of my upbringing! Had everything all wrapped up in one strip..adventure, fantasy, amazing humor, and heartfelt moments. To me as a kid it inspired me to use my imagination even more than I already did. Some of my favorite strips were of all the snowmen and different scenarios Calvin would put them in. I definitely need this collection on my bookshelf!!
    Great vid btw!

Wow great video. Thanks for your personal view as a young reader. I was in my late 20s when my local paper picked up the strip a few years after it’s debut. I was instantly drawn to the imaginary view of Calvin. My favorites were the ones that had Calvin in fear of and being attacked by Hobbes savagely.

Even growing up with and loving Peanuts strips and books 15 years before Calvin and Hobbes started, THIS is my favorite strip of all time. ... I have the trades and later got this set when it was published. This box will never leave me. ... You did an Astonishing job presenting this book. For anyone not familiar with it, your choice of the strips and your enthusiasm and love for them conveyed all they need to know about how great this collection is. Thank you.

Hey, Melanie! Just got around to this video and I wanted to say a few things:
    1) The editing was so cool! I really enjoyed it!
    2) I really liked the little details you gave us like how some of it looks like strips glued on. But you putting the box set on the scale made me laugh pretty good! lol
    3) I adored how much these books reminded you of your family. :)
    4) You actually reading some strips was the best!! It made me feel nostalgic yet I have never read any Calvin and Hobbes. Maybe it made me miss just being read stories as a kid, but regardless it gave me some warm fuzzy feelings and much needed smile on my face. :) You absolutely killed it! Can’t wait for your next vid!

I had most of the paperbacks of Calvin and Hobbes as a child and a teen. I received an early edition of the hardback complete collection in 2007. Found out that the binding was bad, so then I got both the hardcover and softcover complete collection of this set just last year. I love Calvin and Hobbes and I will never be without it. I am also glad that Bill Watterson never sold the rights to have tv, movie, and toy products made. As such, the comics remain strong and undiluted.

Thanks for bringing me down memory lane, Melanie! I bought this HC volume when it first came out as I remember reading this strip in the papers during Watterson's ten year run. It was both my dad's and mine favorite strip next to Peanuts and Far Side. Always loved Calvin's philosophical musings and cynical whit. Always related to his sense of fantasy and adventure even when he wasn't around friends. My daughter had the pic up in her bedroom growing up where Calvin was a young man waving goodbye to Hobbes as he goes off with a little six year old girl. Reminds me of Toy Story 3. :-(

Calvin and Hobbes is a modern classic. I am specially fond of all his bizarre snowmen, and as a child i did try to copy some of them (didn't go that well)
A swedish publisher is making a swedish-translated version of this box for the moment. And i have made my pre-order of it. Hopefully it will arrive during the first quarter of next year.
