Diana Lin: Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls... Hong Kong Disneyland Proudly Presents... Our Spectacular Festival Pageant of Nighttime Magic and Imagination. In Thousands of Sparkling Lights, and Electro-Synthe-Magnetic Musical Sounds: The Main Street Electrical Parade!
I heard a rumor that the parade might be coming back to Walt Disney World in 2023 after Walt Disney Worlds 50th Anniversary. I’m hoping the rumor is true. I miss this parade so much.
1996: MSEP says “Goodbye forever, thank you Disneyland” 1997: Hercules debuted, and Disneyland replaces the Main Street Electrical Parade with (and I am disgusted to say it) LIGHT MAGIC! 1999-2001: MSEP comes back to WDW for a 3 year run. 2001-2020: Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DREAM-LIGHTS makes a debut, but in 2020, due to COVID, it was in storage 2021: Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DREAM-LIGHTS COMES BACK!!!!!! 2022: Disneyland brings back the iconic parade from 1972 (The Main Street Electrical Parade) to celebrate its 50TH ANNIVERSARY!!!! And that’s my story and I’m sticking to it
Heres the first half: 1972: MSEP debuts at Disneyland, but had a disastrous dress rehearsal; but in 1974, MSEP needed a break, so "America On Parade" took over. 1977: Elliot and Pete from Pete's Dragon debuts in MSEP and became popular so the kept him 1985: Tokyo Disneyland made a copy of the parade and named it, "TOKYO DISNEYLAND ELECTRICAL PARADE", and held its last show in 1995 to make room for FANTILLUSION. 1992: Euro Disneyland, now Disneyland Paris, opens and MSEP comes to entertain the people of Europe. Also at Disneyland, they made various anniversary floats. One for the 25th in 1980, one for the 30th in 1985, and one for the 35th in 1990 (Party Gras era) Also I think MSEP debuted at Disney World in 1979.
the 2nd Florida run wasn't quite 2 years (it started May 28 1999 and ran til April 1st of 2001 May 21st was *ACTUALLY* the last night of Spectromagic's first run)
2 corrections worth noting: the *Final* Florida performance for Florida's version *ACTUALLY* September 30th (the 14th was just a temporary stop due to Halloween parties) the First performance in 1999 was on May 28th.
Yes, but the September 30th showing was merely for cast members and the media, not the public. And that May 1999 date is changed around a lot with the 28th and 21st. It's not clear when the actual start date is
