Sonata Nr. 4 'Kristina' was composed in Moscow by russian composer Alexander Rosenblatt. His love for classic and jazz connected him with russian-german pianist Kristina Miller, who also has a passion for it. Sonata 'Kristina' was dedicated and written by Alexander Rosenblatt specially for Kristina and it was a very inspiring process for them to prepare this piece together for recording.
Rosenblatt studied piano and composing at the Moscow Conservatory from 1975 to 1982 with Pavel Messner and Karen Khachaturian. From 1983 to 1990 he gave lessons at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow. Since then he is working as a freelance composer and pianist. Rosenblatt has composed music for piano, cello, chamber orchestra and symphony orchestra. His compositions range from classical music to crossover and jazz. In 2011 he got a contract with Schott Music, which represents him worldwide.

Bloody marvellous performance! Reminds me of Kapustin (whose music I love) but with something unique - I enjoyed the Paganini variations too 👌

This is brilliant! The work is quite Kapustin-esque, stylistically, but the language is clearly Rosenblatt's own.
And what a rare occasion, a work performed by the dedicatee!

This Sonata is beyond beautiful . I hear Scriabin ,Rachmaninoff,Ravel , Debussy. The middle theme takes you into a peaceful surrealism that holds you in the moment . If I had my performing skills and technique back this peace would be regular part of every performance .

Enjoyable, some parts remind me of Kapustin but with a different flavor and others a bit of Scriabin.

В середине прошла тема Dies ire гершвиновскими аккордами?

Incredible performance. Two questions if I may:
    1. Did I hear a bit of quoting Dies Irae in places?
    2. What microphones were used for the recording? The piano's tone is incredibly rich and deep!
