This is probably my favorite 110 build. I really like how you went and not the philosophy behind how you outfitted the Rover instead of just bolting expensive parts to it.
@@promenteryrobbins They, Land Rover Limited, have long claimed that "over 70 percent of all Land Rovers ever made" are still in use today. I've long wondered what they based this claim on. The classic Land Rover, i.e. the Defender, is still and will probably always be my favorite product from Land Rover Limited.
Congratulations on your restoration - you have made really excellent choices for for the upgrades and replacement parts. The colour is really cool also - it appears very similar to that used by the French Army, who paint their Land Rovers a similar shade, which is a suitable colour for the mediterranean / North African terrain.
Love the Overland110, you have done a fantastic job rebuilding it to a great spec choosing the best options for a very practical truck without deviating far from what Land Rover should have done. Good choice with front & rear axles too, I'm hoping to do something similar soon with my 110. - Hope you enjoy it for a very long time to come, thanks for sharing it with us.
Trucks for life.......I have two ex-mil 89 -110 in Australia.......one is my every day........one demands attention, and gets it last truck i"ll ever own......"Perentie" 110 cool machine....Great Upload Great Machine.....Lost in the Passion, Great Flick
Nice job with this and the other videos I've seen of yours. You do a wonderful job explaining your various modifications and why you did those mods. Your current choice of tires and the size that you run was very well explained. (I used to prefer the Michelin XS tires. I've used both 7.50 x 16 and 9.00 x 16 XS tires on 88" and 109" Land Rovers.) Thank you very much for sharing your video productions with us by way of RUclips! Andy McKane, Maunaloa, Molokai, Hawaii.
Mate a big thumbs up from Australia on a job well done. Obviously lot of thought and love have gone into it, and the result looks and sounds amazing. I had to do a conversion to understand your fuel economy and it translated as 11.5 liters / 100 kilometers, which is not too bad at all. I love what you have done and how you've gone about it. Thanks for the video.
you nailed it, very nicely done and well thought through...hope you are able to do more defender work in this aesthetic and approach in the future! ...(the contents of your spare parts box would be an interesting video topic too...)
Great video, the Landi is really looking great and subtle at the same time. How much does the 300tdi engine go for? I would like to do a conversion from the 2.5 petrol to the 300tdi, will I require lot's of adjustments to mount the engine?
nice truck just interest as to how much all them upgrades and alterations cost as in a ball park figure because most of this isn't cheap thank you great videos
Thanks for posting this video, I must confess that I am very impressed with the quality work that you are doing and would appreciate some pointers from you if possible. I have a right hand drive 1996 Land Rover Defender Hi Cap pickup and would like to update the gauges as I am in the process of rebuilding the dashboard, can you please advise on the exact gauges I should get from VDO bearing in mind that I would also like to include a turbo boost gauge and a tachometer gauge.
Can you share with us what was the final cost of this rebuild! Great video, thank you for uploading it! I love the 110 also a 4 doors would be interesting
FYI, just like a track car, I wouldn't waste/punish my cherished vehicle on daily driving to work and the mall. Ok , so for him it's a rolling advertisement, I get that. Commute in a stock Discovery, for example. Winter is too destructive for a such a jewel.

hi. can you go into more detail why you have used a locker in the rear axle and a LSD in the front? i soon will be upgrading mu axles on my 1998 110 defender. love the build and keep up the good work.
Hi Lee, I used a detroit locker in the rear because it simply drops in to the open diff carrier, very easy to install. Here is a good write up on the truetrac www.expeditionexchange.com/tractech/. I like the simplicity of this set up over selectable lockers.
Hi’ i have one landrover i buy it’ and i dont know wich model wich tybe??? No one know in mhy sety also me - can i send you a car (VIN ) and tell me what is it
Land Rover, the most unreliable, underpowered, gas guzzling vehicle I ever had. Prone to break rear axles, to leak oil, to break gears, to roll over, etc, etc. I'll say with no doubt that a Lada or a Yugo is more reliable. I swear!
I've broken a number of rear half shafts on my own Land Rovers over the years. My former business, McKane's Rover Imports of San Diego, sold many rear axle shafts to Land Rover owners. I can also agree about oil leaks and differential gears and differential housings breaking apart. But I do not agree that the Land Rover Defender was/is prone to rolling over unless if isn't driven properly. With proper driving technique and respect for the machine you are driving, I don't doubt a Land Rover will roll over in normal use these vehicles are put to.
This is probably my favorite 110 build. I really like how you went and not the philosophy behind how you outfitted the Rover instead of just bolting expensive parts to it.
Quite an in depth explanation of the re manufacturing process that a Rover undertakes in your shop!
I am from Thailand thank you so much for RUclips chanal verry nice car sir
Outstanding job. If only Land Rover built them like this in the beginning.
I think if they'd galvanised the chassis (frame), bulkhead and radiator panel, most would still be running.
+John Stokes most of them are still running, more than 70% of what has been produced...

What an absolute peach, intelligently modified, beautifully built and tastefully finished. Fit for purpose.
Wise stuff all that you share with us. I am building the last months my Defender in the same philosophy.

Great job ,and what a beautiful 110 , 1986 , looks great , I want to do that to a Descovery .
Awesome build. You guys take such pride in your work. It must be very satisfying to build such beautiful vehicles. Keep up the great work!

Nice, informative video. Thanks for putting it up.
yes
Very nice. It gives me some ideas for my newly acquired Australian Land Rover 'Perentie' (1987/24000km.)
87 and only 24000 km .. it's just amazing good luck
Great job. What sealant did you use between windscreen frame and roof please, where the meet?
Great info! Clean look and reliable is the key
Just beautiful. I love it.

606th like right here. how can 22 people who purposely clicked this video for a reason, dislike it in any way shape or form.
What a build well done
Do you inject any rustproofing oil/wax inside the box chassis? Great shirt BTW - for sale?
Really good mods but keeping it pretty standard. Nice one.
Welldone very nice car Beautiful

Very nice 110 Landy💛👌
admire the king of 4×4.
awesome land Rover you've got and an amazing job you did rebuilding it! how does the Detroit locker in the rear axle perform?
What would something like this cost? Not a rebuild of an existing Defender but a completed and ready to 1986 110 NAO Expedition package. Any idea?
Did you galvanize the wheels also so the tires dont rust!
Good work man
Such an awesome build up! You talked about taller drivers. I'm looking at importing a defender and this is my biggest worry. How tall are you?
Ktm Rider i wouldn't reall worry about your height mate, how tall are you?
Mini Man hey there. I'm 6'4"
Nice job !!! How do you like the Detroit Locker ? thinking simple is better.
Can you share with us what was the final cost of this rebuild! Great video, thank you for uploading it! I love the 110 also a 4 doors would be interesting
What road/trail is that at beginning of the video?
Wow!! Can you write the link of the Center Console??? I need a key-locked console for my CJ3b! :D
