@@2gunntrekking356 I had 10 in the back of a doomhammer. Essentially giving me 20 shots every turn ✌️ these dammage 2 shots were really useful in all matches I had that day. Keep in mind however that you could have more ratlings if you take the stormlord because of it's bigger firing deck. Also don't forget to add a techpriest enginseer to give the invuln to the big tank 😇
Phobos marines have been doing this for a while now, especially eliminators. 2 squads could hop out of an impulsor, fire their guns and hop back in if the sergeants had instigator bolt carbines, and those transports have firing deck 6
Back in 7th I ran a "threat bubble" of 10 Ratlings, I use Catachan models, and just put scopes on their lasguns, and put pistols on them, since my army was made of Cadian models, it worked well.
Start watching: this is going to be the ratlings/firing deck combo. 2mins in:Yup it is! Kidding aside, Ratlings are excellent, their weapon is irrelevant. Cheap infiltrate is great, especially combo'd with Leontus' redeploy. Then you put them in strat reserves, and when you bring them in use their shoot & scarper to get an extra 6" move, potentially getting 12" away from the side of the board, within 3" of an enemy unit and easily in range of an objective.
The Stormlord makes me want to start guard. I wanna do a Stormlord with 15 Ratlings for cheese, +3x3 HWT with whatever weapons seem good for the matchup. Suddenly makes the Stormlord very versatile. That's also exactly 24 weapons to shoot from the Stormlord. I also leaves 7 slots still open for maybe a small 5 man squad of something to disembark on an objective somewhere.
I think it’s worth taking a deeper look at the Stormlord. Because even with 3 ratling squads your Stormlord is only half full 😅. So what else can you put in? 3 Heavy Weapon Squads fit perfectly. That combo will use 33/40 transport slots and 24/24 firing deck slots. So what heavy weapons do you take? 9 lascannons of course. Combined with the 4 the Stormlord comes equiped with you get a total of THIRTEEN LASCANNONS!!! So you now have a single super heavy unit that that is capable of massacring hordes with its Vulcan mega-bolter and ratling spam AND melting enemy armor with THIRTEEN LASCANNONS!!!😮 And all this for the low low cost (counting only the Stormlord itself and its embarked troops) of 820 points. But is it competitive? Probably not at a UKTC tourney, but quite possibly in a tourney with more casual terrain rules, like Just Play Games. I mean, if some mad lad can do well there with a double super heavy list, maybe this could work too? Anyway, I would love it if SOMEONE was willing to give it a go 😉

stormlord is prob overdoing it but putting some ratlings and maybe marbo into a chimera, could be a fun and very affordable thing to do. it is a very potent hitsquad with a lot of threatrange. the ratlings can basicly hit whatever they want and even marbo gets around 25" threatrange with his piostol (10" from chimera, 3" disembark, 12" pistol). that is suddenly a lot of ground to cover and if he doesn't need the disembark 3" to reach his target, he can shoot 2x.
