Hahaha, took me a while banging my head against the wall, as 3D didn’t work with radial wipe, before I realised that I could use trim paths. Glad you find it useful!
Andy Barbo I don’t think so, but don’t quote me on that. Either way the other way around, you have a lot more control, and the trim paths follows the circle - radial wipe doesn’t, as you have to decide it’s center.
the side color is not working I m using after effects 2023 in windows and its say to group and then put side color so I did and still it doesn't work please help anyone
Thank you for this fantastic tutorial. Just one question, what are you using in order to have the colour palette on screen without adding layers? I mean the 3 circles top, left.
@@OliverRandorff actually i enjoyed watching the tutorial because I love your works and am planning to move into stuffs like that but am really finding it difficult to get after effect cc crack, that's the main reason why I was unable to create this exact tutorial on my own..
Very cool man. If you can show other examples of using expressions for animation it would be very much appriciated! because expressions are tough for non-coders.
Hey Oliver, great stuff! what do i do if i want to have more than 2 keyframes? what do i do with the expression to get the animation working on the next keyframes?
Can we "animate" the numbers so they start 0 and end with the wanted value? PS: Tak for en fed tut og fedt at se en her i ålleren der nørder med AE :-D
Great tut!, one question, is it possible to make all flat layers an then add a null to link all layer to it, so I can decide with the null the angle in case I change my mind about if I want to show more of the top, etc etc? Cause I think right now if I change angles, I have to do it layer by layer, right?
Hey Oliver, fantastic tutorial! I have a question however. When I have multiple side colours extruded, it makes the side colours intersect and causes strange alternating patterns around the rim between the colours. Is there a way around this besides alternating the scale between the layers? Thanks
i have already created not four color pie but five, its easy. In all my after effects life this is the best expressions application i have ever seen. Thanks!

Trim Paths, DUH! The first 2 minutes of this video saved me hours of my life. Thank you!
Hahaha, took me a while banging my head against the wall, as 3D didn’t work with radial wipe, before I realised that I could use trim paths. Glad you find it useful!
@@OliverRandorff If you HAD to, could you pre-comp a circle with radial wipe and make that a 3D element?

Nice, really helpful
Niran Visual So cool to hear. Did you understand the expression part all right? Just need to make sure that I explain it properly.

Luis Bonilla Yeah, that’s right. Would make adjusting it quite a bit easier. Otherwise you’d have to adjust it one by one.

I don’t think so to be honest - that’s at least what I’d try to do
It wont let me add a side color for some reason I get an error message stating to do it as an empty group instead, any help?
sike i figured it out
@@CalvinKalamari great to hear!
how did you figure it out? i’m having this same issue
im just wondering if this can aply to four color of pie chart?

Not quite sure why that’s not an option for you. You don’t need Cinema 4D to use it. What version of After Effects are you using?
