THE ONEE I agree she is a Democrat, I also agree that she is a sitting member of a committee. However you insinuated that she did not have the constitution on her mind while doing her duties.
I would rebuke that by reminding you that if your representative sits on a committee, then you have a right a citizen (on the left or the right) to lobby that member to press that elected official to represent you and your interests.
@@nigeljames6017 "You have a right as a citizen...to lobby..." but, as AOC famously pointed out, billionaires get lawmakers on speed-dial and common constituents cannot. What this has to do with parties, is that privilege routinely trumps any constitutional duty to represent commoners over the privileged. Both parties are united in allegiance to corporate ownership of government and only compete over who sits closest to the boss. For obvious PR purposes Congress has to make an occasional show of sassing its bosses, as in 2008-09, and Congress's owners know these public performances are necessary. Scharf had some uncomfortable moments here but he walked in knowing he owns the place and he walked out knowing he owns the place.
Why isn't Rep. Katie Porter getting more coverage? She really seems like she is fighting for the people and all without any missteps or the need to backtrack that I've noticed.

No living soul would do any different in his place.
That’s how all these things go. They can’t answer the questions because it would cost them millions both in restitution but also in stocks, then it would open them up to lawsuits, and the representative would be terminated from his/her position. So they always answer with an “I don’t have that information right now.” Or “I’m unable to answer that at this time.” Because they are under oath, so if caught in a lie, then it’s perjury and they can be sentenced. It’s all just a ruse of smoke and mirrors. Pretty much pleading the fifth without doing it.
He’s the perfect smug look. Wow. Entitled to get a big bonus for his “I don’t know” performance.

Ryan, I was a Wells Fargo mortgage holder and had to get my state Senator involved to get them to process and "approve" the Making Home Affordable program . The United States Treasury launched in 2009 as part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program. The main activity under MHA is the Home Affordable Modification Program .It was just such a joke. They actually ignored phone calls and emails once paperwork was received.But I kicked their butt and made them accountable and got a reduced mortgage interest rate and lower pmt.

I used to bank with Wells Fargo. They charged me fees that they never disclosed. It only takes once. (A lifelong credit union member)

Yeah, and she said they’re actually fighting in court to not have to pay their customers back. I witnessed the sleazy, underhanded tactics that they’re now infamous for. I was a teller and our branch had the teller with the highest sales in the region come work at our branch for a while, several months, so we could observe and increase our own sales.
But he was doing things that were completely unethical and some were even illegal! I was FLOORED!!!
But when I brought it to the attention of the branch manager, she told me I needed to find some way to learn from his example, and to increase my sales. And that she was under a great deal of pressure from her own boss.
And NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE SUPERSTAR CHEATER!!! He just kept getting his thousands and thousands in his bonuses every quarter, and the free lavish vacations and expensive prizes.

Katie Porter deserves more media coverage than she is currently receiving. The methods of questioning witnesses at these hearings, that she utilizes, are so brilliantly elegant; everytime I watch one of these "best of Katie Porter" RUclips videos I learn more about the issue at hand, during her 5 minutes of questioning, than from any other committee member.
MSM is not going to cover or support * a Congressperson who actually is doing good things for her constituents. *Unless she’s a transgender.

I'm so glad this is coming out about Wells Fargo my husband had an account with them not me I kept telling him they have a bad reputation and what did they do they wound up cheating out of a couple of hundred bucks and that might not sound like a lot of money to some people but it was a lot to us so anyway he cancel the account and went to another bank

I didn't have a choice. When I bought my house 21 years ago, I had a loan company that was not WF. Before I know it, WF bought my loan. This happened 2 more times when I refinanced. How they were able to buy my mortgage is beyond me. I guess I've been lucky because they haven't jerked me around. The only complaint I have is that they never get my escrow amount right - it's always under and I end up having to pay the difference every year. Annoying as all get out. 🤬
Wells Fargo ripped me off too and reported it to affect my credit score. Crooks, I owed them nothing.

I was a part of that $3 billion settlement that was referenced at the end. Thanks to the DOJ, I received my $3k back that I stupidly sent to an internet scammer back in 2006. That money I received back was about half of what it’s worth today, but I’m still thankful that the DOJ fought WF in that!
