But you need to get out of that bathing suit, too. Salt water isn't good to trap against your skin for prolonged periods. But rather than the method shown here, I suggest spending a few dollars (okay, more than a few) to get a DryRobe changing robe.

Yeah, you can wear the one piece swim Speedo underneath and that's not so uncomfortable, but then you still gotta take the Speedo off because it is wet and uncomfortable, so there is no escaping the full peel at some point. I've gotta admit, there is a certain beauty to this method.
I don't surf, but I do spearfishing. I just strip down naked and put on whichever clothes I need once I have poured some fresh water over my head. Our wetsuits require soap or lotion to put them on, they are not linered on the inside (just raw neoprene). A naked body is not such a big deal guys/girls!

As a scuba diver I've worn two-piece suits, front-zip one-piece, and back-zip one-piece suits. I've done both, commando and bathing suit under the wet suits. Always found it easier to wear a speedo suit under the wet suit. Makes dressing (on and off) in public so much easier. And you can get a longer/wider towel to cover yourself, or just get a changing cover (kinda like a long poncho).
I know it’s a joke, but then you could just tie the towel around your chest while you bring the bathing suit up from the bottom. Once the bathing suit is covering your chest you can takeoff the towel and put on the sleeves.
My friends and I just went surfing at a public nude beach most of the time, although we were highschool kids we had a rule if you couldn't stop leering or just creeped someone out you were not welcome to come along with us anymore. After a few trips with the same girls and guys everyone was comfortable being nude around each other. The funny part or problem part with the whole thing is kids in my school that didn't know how to surf kept wanting to join us.

Common courtesy, just like how no one really cares babies/toddlers when they got no clothes on, it's just a fact of life. (and yes there are sickos and creeps who will gawk but you can usually tell them for far away and hide accordingly)

I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA. Our HS even had a surf team, as the school was about 3/4 of a mile from the beach. My childhood was spent at the beach surfing. What everyone just watched is what we call a “deck change”. And we never wore bathing suits under our wetsuits. On cold mornings, instead of flip flops, you’d put on a pair of Uggs and head back to school to start your normal classes. I’m 51yo now and live in Phoenix, AZ. During the winter out here, I absolutely still rock my Uggs….with shorts. (It’s an HB thing). My wife hates it. 😂😂
Wet wetsuits create a vacuum effect that sticks to your skin, which is very helpful to keep you warm in the water but not so great to get off. You have to break the vacuum seal to release it from your skin. I wear rash guard pants and longsleeve shirt under my wetsuit, which makes it SO much easier to get in and out of. Pouring water directly in your suit also helps. I always fill up a few gallon jugs with hot water from my bathtub in the winter and use it for a hot shower when I get out…it’s amazing.
Right! I don't surf, I just love being in the water, but I have to wear a rash guard top, keeps me warm, and prevents sore spots from velcro and seams. Water in the the suit is the best removal tip. I just can't imagine being desperate enough for attention to not also have a swimsuit underneath.

Life hack: wear a bathing suit under your wet suit. Bathingsuits are so tiny, it doesnt effect how the wet suit fits. Then if youre just taking a short break u just unzip it and let top hang. Then no issues with ppl seeing the goods

Better than all of this is to wear a towel poncho. It’s like a wearable change room and you won’t get creepy staring. I wear a wetsuit every single week and I’ll tell you now; towel ponchos are amazing
As a female windsurfer I always wear a bikini under my wetsuit. Bit of advise: I usually avoid bikinis with strings as they dig on my neck and back when there is a wetsuit over them(especially when wearing a harness). I'd recommend going with a one or two piece sports bikini❤.
As a native Californian who has surfed many, many, many years - I have ALWAYS worn a suit under the wetsuit. I have NEVER gone commando under my wet suit. I even wear my BOARD SHORTS under a wet suit - and ONLY if the water a SUPER COLD which is rare in California.
Water being cold isn’t fuckin rare here. Let me guess you live in San Diego where it gets to like almost 80° water. Everywhere else in California, it’s fucking freezing 90% of the time water doesn’t get over like 73 even warmest. And when I go lobster diving in the fall and winter it gets down to like 50s.
I wore a lot of wetsuits and never used this system. Normal swimsuit under the wetsuit, not a bikini, and getting out of the wetsuit was never a problem.
99.9% of the divers I know wear a bathing suit under their diving suits, and someone who lives in the Caribbean tells you that where there are beaches and there are many divers, surfers, bathers and swimmers.

They make towel ponchos that are like a microfiber towel dress. They are sick and they help you change while staying covered. Also they have a hood for your hair to dry faster. Also they look cool af. Also they have rad patterns

As a female windsurfer I always wear a bikini under my wetsuit.
Bit of advise: I usually avoid bikinis with strings as they dig on my neck and back when there is a wetsuit over them(especially when wearing a harness). I'd recommend going with a one or two piece sports bikini❤.

As a native Californian who has surfed many, many, many years - I have ALWAYS worn a suit under the wetsuit. I have NEVER gone commando under my wet suit. I even wear my BOARD SHORTS under a wet suit - and ONLY if the water a SUPER COLD which is rare in California.
