Thank you!!!! We would not have been able to finish this nightmare project without this video. Some tips, though, slow down, and show close ups of pieces like the glass clips and how they actually fit.

Thank you. I added a stud in the wall for my shower. Those pladtic anchors wont hold worth a crap

This video is quite helpful, but you still need to read, and read, the included instructions. Also, just a tip for installing the gaskets (small one for the fixed panel and the two "regular ones"), use a soap and water spray bottle, spray the glass lightly and simply push the gaskets in place, makes for a much, much easier install. Like I said, good video, but you still need to read the instructions very carefully.

This was my very first shower enclosure that I have put together. It only took me 2 1/2 hours to put it together. Very happy with the enclosure and find it quite affordable AND a great looking product!!
However I believe the video was not helpful at all in the assembly. It lacked many key details and instructions are lacking info for top and bottom gaskets.
The label of “retainer blocks” on package, but “glass clips” are labeled in instructions. Part 1/step 5.

Two and half days and it's sort of installed and I'm still not sure that it's anywhere like it's "supposed to be". The door opens and closes, so I guess that's good. I found the written instructions sufficiently vague. This video helps a little (still not enough detail). It would help if American Standard did a better job of labeling their parts.

before installing the base what should I do to stop the squeak? do I pull the Styrofoam out?

  • @jceast76
    @jceast76 6 лет назад +6

Very frustrating install. Had to get REAL Phillips head screws, the ones provided stank and wouldn't go in without my driver skipping out, leaving the screw halfway in and a bitch to remove. The pre drilled holes for the glass clips were in the wrong place (did I miss something)? Had to drill my own holes for the glass clips to make it work. Be careful measuring for the door frame, I used the 1 1/8" measurements from the line and the wall was not centered on the base. Now I have 4 holes in my wall that I have to patch. Then, I aligned the wall to the base with the wall posts attached, drew a line, then using the holes in the wall posts, marked where the screws went and that worked.
After that, everything went together fine. If this item is ever re designed, why not have a tongue and groove device on the pan and the bottom of the door frame to help keep the water out so we don't depend ENTIRELY on the caulk. And if you are installing the frame into wood and not drywall, don't use the plastic screw anchors, it will hold much better.

The instructions only work if you are using the companion wall panels. I did a tile wall and figured that the play between the frame and wall posts would accommodate. Wrong! Having to remount the wall posts by first assembling the frame without the glass and the wall post inserted in the frame posts and them marking the new locations far the wall posts. Hope it will work but the bottom rail will be at the outer edge of the base.

People in the comment section actin like this is a master piece lego set... It's not that difficult to build. If you have any general idea of how a shower enclosure works, then you should have no problems. The only reason I was here to watch was because I want to see if I did it differently then what they expect... And because it was in my feed.

Either this is an old model or you show a different model (probably the 38"). The 36" Curved Shower door that I bought does not meet the wall at 90 degrees as shown in the video. (2:46). And Seriously, using a channel lock to loosen and tighten the nuts, My 7th grade shop teacher is rolling over in his grave.

The printed directions lacking in important details and the video also lacked important details. After a lengthy call to tech support finally resolved several issues were taken care of. They say they are aware of the need to rewrite (in more detail) the directions. Hopefully soon!

First step. Take one of the long screws to home depot. Replace it with 1 1/2 inch hex head sheet metal screws. Then throw away the screws that came with it. They are garbage. You are welcome.

Assembly took longer than it should have. The long screws used to assemble the frame and attach to the wall are junk. Use something else even if you have to go buy them. It will be worth it.

If you just bought these doors do yourself a favor and have a professional install them. If you've never installed these doors I'll let you know now that they are a absolute nightmare, I'm a carpenter and have been installing showers for 20 years and it still took me almost a half a day to install this flimsy ass setup. I'll never suggest this setup to anyone!!!

Your product is no good. I installed one and its very poor quality. From the start when putting the frame together only a screw joins the connections. There is no washer and not bolt to assure firmness. The frames are very thin and the screw for the frame barely screws onto metal. This turned into a nightmare. Please fix your products.

Horrible instructions, the video is very confusing as well. If anyone is installing this shower and already have drywall up you will have to cut a small portion out at the bottom for the base to slide up against the wall.
