Forgive my ignorance on this topic it's probably a dumb question but when a band replicates a prior band's music so carefully in a commercial venue is there not a copyright issue here or how do they handle that?
It is a grey area and hard to manage with so many tribute bands across the world. Usually professional bands such as Brit Floyd would have to have some type of licence and most likely pay a licencing fee to the original band, but smaller bands may not as they are simply too small to start threating legal action. It isn't protected under fair use but it is usually up to the orignal band to decide whether they can or can't - but I would assume most bands okay this as long as they pay royalty.
David Gilmour has said they sound better than we did, he also gave them some stage gear , and all the dvds and cds and T shirts you but at a Britt Floyd concert are sold as pink Floyd music......so i imagine Pink Floyd gave them the authority......and they did play at a Gilmour birthday bash
They got everything in place, but in my ears and opinion, Damian's playing is far too agressive to replicate Gilmour in an honourable way. He has the tendency to release a note and slide down all the time.
The most criminally overlooked song (and guitar solo) in the Floyd repertoire.
I’ve seen them 3 times in Vancouver now and was so happy they played this one. My favourite PF song. They put on a great show!
Well done guys, just another favourite song of Floyd's in a long list of them.🏴🇬🇧
Amazing rendition 😍
Sem dúvida nenhuma, o melhor cover do Pink Floyd... !
