- Talk’s Alex Phillips is joined by former NHS Trust chairman Roy Lilley to talk about how the global IT outage is affecting the NHS.
Thousands of GP practices across England have struggled with the booking of appointments and issuing of prescriptions.
NHS England said there was an issue with the EMIS Web system, which is understood to be used by about 60% of practices in England.
A spokeswoman for NHS England said there is currently no known impact on 999 or emergency services.

The WEF also correctly said this would happen ahead of time, making that 100% prediction rate for bad things....
Indeed.
Weve just been grocery shopping.. all card payments working fine..
..
at this point it
Seems like this outage is targeted at services, not at corporations.
.
Also flights delayed too..
All so predictable now..
How is your GP going to google your symptoms with the system down?
Good one👍
Brilliant. Gives them even more excuses not to do anything.
Without Google, how will your GP know if it's penicillin, prozac or ibuprofen the patient needs?
We still have GPs? From the difficulties I have getting an appointment I assumed they'd all been shut down
If you need an appointment just pop to your local golf course mate
Are we paying attention yet?..wake up people
😂 And they want us all to use digital currency 😮😅
You carnt get a Gp appointment anyway.....does it matter.
Don't know about anywhere else but I'm based if Sheffield. Doctor referred me to the hospital beginning of December, got an appointment 1.8.24 and thats after another push from doc. Bloody ridiculous
How come everything collapsed are there no fire walls etc or is everything running on one system
So there is NO change to any of the services provided then?
Doctor Google is not in today . Your appointment is cancelled 🤔
Who told the British to use Microsoft products? They are crap. All dos based systems are
He is wrong!
It's not Azure that is affected it is individual machines that use the Falcon security software.
Azure is causing some issues though, not the main issue maybe but definitely an issue
@@Joel-c9i Azure is always causing issues, it's a management-cult to believe that Azure is a good idea.
Bring back the days when we hosted our own metal.
Digital = Control don't fall for the propaganda
Any excuse for them.
Won't make a difference cant even get an appointment 😂
GPS appointments do u mean phone appointments because my dr still doing phone call appointments which can be 3 weeks after you've called...go back to books... in alphabetical order like it used too...
What large business in this century doesn’t rely on computers
could that "expert" talk anymore rubbish
Did you know its simpler easier and faster to go online?
It can be accessed and scripts etc can be issued. What is all this bs. Is he an IT expert? But yes, there are some serious problems going on atm in a lot of surgeries. Microsoft do not provide all the software. EMIS is not a MS product, it runs on Windows. Get an IT senior from the NHS, not some ex chairman. He doesn't know what he's talking about.
He's also completely wrong in what he says - it's nothing to do with Azure.
It's the Falcon security software on individual machines.
My credentials - software engineer with BSc Hons in Information systems.
"It costs a lot of money" What's your point? Using Microsoft products costs a lot of money.
Public money, public code.
In addition to collecting data from you, Microsoft also is very vulnerable to crashes like this.
Lmao , they said they fixed the problem yesterday.😆 These people are allergic on being honest.🙄
It takes the same amount of time to fill a preplanned prescriptions form online as it does to scribble on a preplanned prescriptions pad in front of you ....don't gaslight me numpty😂
Her content is good but she rants too much. People told her “well done” for one rant & now she can’t stop. She also interrupts her guests too much.
Why is anyone surprised?
Surprised you guys ain’t blamed the migrants
What's this expert on about, it's on the cloud not on servers, of course it's on servers cloud's are made of water, by the way the definition of a expert is ex is a has-been & a spurt is a drip under pressure, looks like he fits the bill.
