I have a pixie cut and the only thing that makes me wish I didn't is when I see beautiful dreads like this! I've had 2-3 crops of them and they all grew wild and natural like yours, I prefer that look to the perfect ropes. The extensions look amazing and so does the colour!
Omg I love that you could use your own hair to give them more length! I'm thinking about getting locks for a while now but I'm so scared of the commitment
I think you should not do it. (If I were you I would try a lock wig first so I could compare) Straight hair is perfect with your head shape and with your face. Also you are in your prime years. If you decide to cut of your locks you will have the worst hairstyle (short) in your prime years which will make your life worse as you will not have as much options in life as you could. Go for lock once you are over 35. Ps:locks are fun, but become very boring over time and straight hair is easier to manage.
If you are willing to invest the time to put them in, then endure the ensuing chaos on your head for about a year and are willing to put in the time to then brush them out or sacrifice your hair to the gods, go for it. :P Jokes aside, I'm 24, made mine almost 4 years ago and don't regret it. Baby dreads are easy to comb out if you want to, dreads are not for life, though they are usually meant to be kept for longer than a year (you know, to reap all the good hair days after all the bad hair days during the first year). I'd say go for it. If you are careful enough, you won't damage your hair when putting them in/brushing them out. Though I'd suggest the channel LazyDreads for some more information on this topic.
You can remove them by using conditioner or an anti-tangler. Your hair won't be very damaged at all. I've removed 2 sets and my hair was just fine afterwards (one set was 4 years, the other was 1 year).
Hey I did he same thing! Kinda. I brushed out some locks in the front, then realized I brushed out too much, BUT I had like 3 locks saved from when I shaved my undercut... so I attached one on each side. Now I am growing my undercut into a V (like an upside down version of your undercut, where it just comes to a point) and am gonna attach the third lock back. It's gonna be way shorter but oh well.
Oh my gosh, Psychara 😁🤓Please do more dread videos. I have four dreads at the top of my undercut and I've had them for a year now as well. Your idea worked so well. it really turned out nice and I definitely enjoyed this video. It's the witchy shit happening. Love it!✨♥️
Love the way this turned out, so creative and it indeed looks great! Watching your videos with a cup of tea is a nice way to spend a cold rainy morning, so glad I found your channel
Watching you attach the extensions was a rerun of what the Mediaeval expert did when he re-spliced one of the bell ropes in the local 11th century church :). I must tell him of new business opportunities !
You kept your cut loks,. I kept my first proper beard. Why ? I don't know. I keep it in an old ice cream tub . grew it way back in 2007, cut it off 2008. Think zz top .from chin to chest. At least you upcycled them great thinking. Wonder if it will work on my bald patch ?..
@psychara I've noticed you have amazing taste in music. Is there any chance you could share a playlist of some of the music you're listening to now??? Thank you in advance
Hé Mara ! Dat palmrollen want je deed is ook erg goed om je dreads wat " langer " te maken. juist vooral bij jonge dreadjes is dat eigenlijk echt een must 🥰 omdat ze anders dus erg krimpen.
Not to be rude, I love mats, I was just wondering- how do you wash/take care of them? Is it like normal loose hair where you just wash 2-3 times a week or is there a special method for cleaning them?
You wet your hair, add shampoo, and scrunch them gently. You just have to make sure you get all the product out so it doesn't build up inside. I rinse mine with apple cider vinegar as it is a natural conditioner and very good for your hair, and this helps get rid of the build up as well.
I wash mine anywhere from once a week to once every other week with shampoo (residue free shampoo is recommended, since residue leads to build up and that can lead to mold and/or funky smells but currently I just use my bf's since I can't be bothered) or once in a while with acv and baking soda. Washing them more than 2 times a week leaves mine moist constantly, which again can lead to mold. Rinsing is important, to avoid build up. But other than that I separate them every now and then at the roots, but that's about it. c:
I wash mine 1-2 times a week. Baby locks should only be washed once a week since they're in a fragile state, but after the first 2-3 months you can wash them 2 times a week. Residue free shampoo (dr. Bonners are the likes thereof). An ACV rinse is recommended at least once every 6 months. But yeah, they're really easy to care for if you choose not to do any maintenence (which is called "neglect form").
HI PSYCHARA let me tell you what happend to me this week. i work at construction tools shop and when a costumer shops here we have an account with them. well monday a guy walked in and bought some things and when he was checking out he asked if we had any free items this week which we do give out to costumers. and i said yes and handled him a flash light. he said that his father would have love the flash light. now hearing him say (would have) said to me that his father has passed on. so i asked for his phone number cause thats how we see if they have an account with us. and he said he did not have an account with us but he wanted to set one up. so i put in his phone number and the computer said he had one all ready. he said that impossable he never shoped here before, so i let him look at the info and he said ya thats my name and number.so i dug into the account and asked him was this address on record was his he said no . it's my fathers. he said wow my father set up and account befor he passed on. i saw a big smile on his face and afther he paid and was walking out i could see he was starting to cry. he was so happy that his father toke care of him even after death. and thats what happend to me this week. smile
Good story, that's nice. I love my dad and we go out for lunch every week. One of the few people in this world I can call at 3am for help if I need it and he will be there.
Yess been waiting for this video! Wow I’m surprised there was no left over residue in your cut off locs you used for extending the shorter ones must take extremely good care of them! Do you use residue free shampoo or maybe not wash them with soap at all? ACV and baking soda deep cleanse?
Psychara I do all this too but when I brushed out some of my top dreads they had a lot of residue left over! Probably from purple conditioners I sometimes use now that I’m thinking about it lol
i have a question!! i want to get dreads soon (and wanted to for years, mainly because of you xP) and i was wondering; do yo recommend having it done by someone with experience or do you think ill be fine if i do it myself with some help here and there??
I'd highly recommend getting at least the sectioning done by someone who knows how to do it! When your sections are badly made, too thick or thin, you'll have problems with your locks forever. And maintaining them when the roots are messed up is a pain (I know what I'm talking about, have that issue with a few dreads I did myself)
Ahh okay thank you, i did so some reading so i think i get how they’re supposed to be sectioned but I’ll see if i can get someone to help me get them right for my head, since i have difficult hair xD
Brimmy Burner I’m 20 now and have lost the majority of my hair it’s so thin and in patches :/ it’s caused by stress for me and that ain’t going away any time soon 🤷🏻♀️
This is a very great idea, but me as a professional I think you should go see a professional, and get some maintenance, they probably will fix these better to in the future don't give you problems.
Your makeup is always absolutely stunning, I love the mystical purples

You can remove dreads just fine. Its just a long process

This make up look and current hair color is everything 🙏🏻💕
I gasped when you said you kept your old dreads. I said yes! That's perfect!😊👍

My hair isn’t long enough to do locks yet but once it is I wanna have a couple on the underside of my hair 🥺
Thats a very good idea though! Do they last? Is the connection strong enough? Love your transformations! 🖤
This is simply amazing! You look sooo good with longer hair, Mara! 🍃🖤🔮🧹🧙♀️
you look abssssolutely stunning 😭💜 love this color scheme on you!
OMG that noise you made at 7:17 is ADORABLE!!!
I miss having my locks now I had to get rid of mine because of my scalp irritation
I can’t handle how well you are.
I've done this with human hair extensions before from vp fashion hair, looks amazing.
Watching you attach the extensions was a rerun of what the Mediaeval expert did when he re-spliced one of the bell ropes in the local 11th century church :). I must tell him of new business opportunities !
I have the urge to crochet them 🤭 when I had locks I did them like once a week 😁🤷♀️ bit ocd. But I love you're style 💚
That turned out so good!! 👌👌 so satisfying to watch! Xx

You don't maintenant your hair ? So you are stinky ? 😂😜
Lock maintenance means redoing the roots with the crochet hook. I DO wash my hair. Quite often actually.
@@Psychara I like your hair, you are so beautiful 😘, by the way my house is also witchy like your house 👍
