I have just one backup bottle and it's for MAC's Velvet Teddy. It's discontinued and my current bottle is pretty close to being done so I'll actually get use out of the backup. It was also being sold for pennies so it was perfect timing. Otherwise, I don't do backup bottles. My collection is pushing 200 bottles at the moment and it's just not necessary. I don't go through bottles enough to justify it. I think backup bottles would make sense for me if my collection was under 10 or so bottles because there's a much larger chance that I'll be going through entire fragrances and needing the backups. And I think we as perfume lovers (or hoarders lol) kind of underestimate how long it takes to get through a bottle honestly. I know that realistically I could do with just decants from here on out, but I'm greedy and I love pretty bottles haha. So having backups on top of that just feels like a bit much for me personally. But to each their own!

Idole Aura is bc I totally forgot I purchased a bottle a day before I made the second purchase. It was through Mercari & I was not going to cancel due to my mindless, obsessive mistake. 😆 As for decluttering. I’ve been placing the perfume bottles I think I want to declutter in a box, in my closet. Since then, I took two bottles out. I don’t think I can declutter due to the amount of research, money & possible regret I may go through but if ever a loved one wants a bottle, more than likely I’ll give it to them or give them a bottle in the same scent family. I’ve been overwhelmed but that just makes me love certain perfumes a little more. I know, it’s crazy! 😆

I'm someone who believes in having signature scents and not diluting one's scent image by having too many different fragrances. I am therefore a believer in having back-up of one's favourites. Four of my five favourites happen to be discontinued so as you can see, I'm trying to somewhat hoard backups of these before they're completely gone. I know... it's an insecurity, but hey I want to invest in me-scents which I already love. Just only stumbled upon your channel... love your non-excessive attitude towards your fragrances. 🧡

These fragrances sound so wonderful, I haven't smelled any of the ones you showed. My perfume collection consists of many samples and birthday gifts and past scentbird subscription. I'm slowly buying full size of the samples I love. I will definitely check out your Mercari.

I try not to have regrets but it would have been a lot easier if I started with samples instead of so many full size bottles and also being more deliberate on building my collection. I think you're doing great and like you said it's a process. There's fragrances constantly being reformulated or discontinued or the prices ridiculously raised. If I could afford it, I'd have one backup of fragrances I adore. Tfs💜
You're doing a great job of decluttering! I would keep the backups you already own, including Delina Exclusif, and then just focus on not purchasing any more repeats until you actually finish a bottle and need a replacement.
Yes, I went back and forth on a lot of them and had to put everything in perspective and think about the smaller collection I’m creating…I also have a ton of samples and discovery houses to go through too so it made sense to be a little more cut throat - but it was hard! 🫤 Thanks for the encouragement 💕
I have 2 backup bottles in my collection of over 200. One is an almost full bottle of my beloved Manifesto. The other is a tester bottle of one of my fav perfumes- Dolce and Gabanna The One EDT. I got a great deal and could not pass it up. I have 4 in the Mon Parfum collection and Mon parfum Gold is my favorite. I was only able to get a 30 ml and now its sold out. :(
I do hope they’re just changing up the bottles for Mon Parfum because they are so wonderful. 🤞🏼 love to hear the back-up bottle numbers from other collectors…helps me put it in perspective 💕 Thank you for sharing!

The Mon Parfum Crystal notes sound yum, especially for the colder months. The little baby in it’s’ little silk pillow😂🤣too cute! I just spent forever in Myers (teenage son in tow)searching for a frag for Spring here in Australia, wanting an everdayer that was an allrounder ,anyway after spraying a wad of cards and all wrists and arms ,coffee sniffing🙄 probably twenty I went away and decided on none of them but ended up trying and buying the new Dior Parfum it’s different from the original but it is soft and feminine so I just settled! 30ml 👶 so good testing size! Anyway I would loooove to have back ups of my fav’s but atm finances doesnt really permit!Man I could go to town on frags like you did if I was let loose! Gung ho? As you say😂I love perfumes! PS:KEEP THE DELINA🎀💗she’s lovely and the way these house chop and change I’m sure you won’t regret keeping it! Stash her away. Just discovered you and am binging your videos. I too am in the purging/curating phase. I have backup bottles of 14 fragrances; of those, 10 are discontinued. That’s mainly why I backup. Are you really paranoid, if it turns out to be true? lol
This video was challenging to finish - very confronting. For me I could see the difference between the stress caused by the literal addiction I was facing vs my dream collection and what I am creating instead…aka there were some demons to work through! I try to be as honest as possible and show all of my emotions on this declutter journey since (to the best of my knowledge) we don’t have a Perfume Addicts Anonymous.
