My hubby and I are in the process of finishing our tiny home which we built from the ground up - while living in a tent while on the land and communting 2 hours each way from our apartment... during our second year of marriage and running two small businesses. It is NOT for the faint of heart at all, but really does strengthen what you have!
God Bless you on that individual space theory. Married 35 years and I can tell you it makes all the difference. Hubby has music interests and I make quilts and paint. Having our own creative space keeps us interesting to each other.

I've always heard it said, "Don't build a house in the first 10 years of marriage." So what did we do? We bought 17 acres and built a house - only after 5 years of marriage! Trying? YES! I hate drywall and my husband hates paneling. So he won, and we have drywall throughout every room - but I put up nice borders (of my choosing) in all of the rooms! There were so many other "headbutts," but we just celebrated our 26th anniversary yesterday, and we still live in the same house that he built for us. We only hired an electrician and a drywall crew, everything else my husband did, with some help here and there from friends and family. If we ever have to move, I've said that we will have to move the house with us! God bless you, your beautiful wife, and those sweet babies. We raised (and homeschooled) four children, but they only came one at a time!😄

You seem like an extremely genuine humble individual. Stay humble and continue on with your faith in Christ! Fyi- my kids were born before kick counts, ultrasounds, both had two due dates being big on first Dr visit. With my second ( the boy) we made 4 trips to hospital, on the 5 the I said, not going home til he's born- 20 min later he was here!!!! Was small and we figured out a month early, but totally grew out of that. Now he has three!!!

Hey Martin, remodels can be a lot to bare.. me being a contractor I’ve seen people that don’t know what there getting into and it can much to deal with. But brother your at the tail ends of the project.. get the kitchen done a bathroom that is functioning and everything will follow up.. master bath don’t stress to much.. you examine yourself to consider that you’ve failed which is a good fruit of the spirit.. You haven’t failed brother it’s construction, how the cookie crumbles.

Call in all the reinforcements now to get the house done immediately because the babies may come any day any hour. I love the whole house (I just can't make myself like the dead deer heads but it only matters that you and mama like them. I'm that one weird fan that can't kill or look at a dead animal. Please don't hold that against me😉.) Just start getting everything in cabinets etc. I hope they don't come until the house is ready but it usually don't work out like that. Get friends,family,everyone you know to help get the house done in a couple of days. It will be so hard on y'all when the boys come home to do any work and not make noise etc. Beautiful house.
