I have my home, cars, truck, motorcycles insured with Geico, I had my 5th wheel also but it burnt to the ground in June. Along with my Rhyno that was in the back, they only gave Me $5k for the contents of My 5th wheel, I had over $9800 in tools, gear, just stuff You would have in a 5th wheel to go racing. They wouldn't give me a dam dime for my $10,000 Rhyno, they said: "It has a vin number, You should have had Insurance on it" So I thought, oh well at least they support My favorite sport. Well I will be giving them double barreled middle fingers, If they are not going to support Motocross/ Supercross. I'm with You Johnny! Screw Um!and I'm going to tell Everyone I know what their doing, and What I'm doing.
Yup, i had a shed burn with 3 vintage Z50's. didn't get a dime because: any motor vehicle (except lawn mowers) have to have their own policy. Geico can go pound tar as far as i'm concerned
That's terrible what they didn't cover. Geico is as bad as Central Banks. Most insurance sucks. Sorry for your troubles on your loss. I hope you find something fair and get back to having fun racing.
My truck and trailer were stolen, both at the same time, I have Mercury ins. although I didn't have dirt bikes in the trailer, I had my bicycles, 6k worth, long story short they bought me new bikes and gave me almost 10k for a 17 year old toy hauler and paid for all the brick a brack in the trailer, Got my truck back same day, was lucky on that one
GIECO also pulled sponsorship on it's NASCAR team. I think they are pulling back their Motorsports marketing across the board. Without fans at the races there is not the same ability to market and energize potential customers in person. You can always run TV ads energize viewers at home.
I agree that it is not right to label them as bad as they had sponsored mx team for a very long time. With that said I thank them for the long lasting investment into the sport. It is what it is, and this year has been hard on business so it is probably related to that. State Farm Honda lol. Dude Geico is gonna lose some good money thats for sure. Plus this means that riders will possibly be out of a ride but I don't know. Maybe HRC will make a 250 team or maybe Ricky will make a deal with Honda. This for sure is wack though. Thanks for the video Johnny!

I have to say that I'm grateful to Geico and Honda for giving us such a great lights class, for many years. However, I am also saddened that they couldn't come up with a new deal... MX/SX really need solid sponsors for the sport to stay alive. Thanks, Johnny.
Johnny Thank you man.... keep doing what your doing, I’m in 30s (not sure why I think my age adds any importance) this sport needs more ppl bringing the issues behind the scenes to light. They will end up killing this sport that I love.... keep on being loud about it and don’t change as you get bigger. I love it keep it up brother
If you look at the Geico Honda Facebook page it's obvious that they weren't doing a good job of marketing. You can't just pay $2mil for 3 Facebook posts and a couple of pictures. The Geico Honda team did it to themselves. And I hate insurance companies.
BDP Racing they weren’t paying them for Facebook ads. They were paying to have Geico on the shrouds of the bike the jerseys the hats team shirts etc. that’s the advertising they were paying for.
I've been a State Farm man my entire life because the local agent is not only an excellent agent, but he's been a family friend since before I was born. He's a genuinely good dude and I've been a State Farm man ever since I've been alive and that's not because of rates or money or whatever, it's because of personal connections. That's the real stuff that actually matters. I'm not mad at Geico. If it doesn't make sense anymore, then that's that. I don't know, but State Farm's logo is already Red and White so maybe it would be a perfect fit... lol
You’re 100% right about loosing fan support to purchase GIECO motorcycle insurance... Since learning about the split I am now with Nationwide for my insurance.
Racer X Racing Honda 250 or HRC 250 team? Either way losing such a huge sponsor isn’t in my eyes good for the sport or Honda👀 thanks for covering so much in the industry. You’re the best dude. 👏🏻
Another excellent video JH!! Yes business is business, but then again there has to be more insight on behalf of Geico. I am not at the negotiating tables with this partnership, but I would have to believe that Geico could have come up with some level of support of the team without having to completely walk away. As I type this, there has been 7,000 plus views. Let's say that 50% of those viewers have Geico (I did before I heard the news that they were pulling the plug 100%) and the monthly payment is $300 (mine was personally right at $600 because I have two drivers under the age of 18) this adds up to nearly $13 million dollar annually (7200 divided by 2 = 3600 policies x $300 per month = $1,080,000 monthly x 12 months = $12,960,000). Sponsorship is all about building loyalty; however, the loyalty backfires when you just stiff the sport like Geico is doing. Their big corporate egos will not allow us to see them come back around and find a happy middle ground with Ziggy and the entire Honda program. What would be awesome is to see another insurance company like State Farm (the TV contracts have Progressive) step in and pick up the vacuum that Geico is creating and reap huge financial returns on their initial investment. The key here is that they need to support the teams directly. Too many times we have seen team sponsors get pulled away and become TV partners - GoPro, CBD, etc. Some will argue that TV ratings help sell team sponsors, but I doubt that Progressive ad revenue is making it's way down to the team's revenue stream. Keep the videos coming JH - they are spot on and a blast to watch! I have stopped watching with my coffee because I nearly spit mine out when you throw in some of the funny clips and I don't see them coming (3:33)!
@@EarthSurferUSA Completely agree - sponsors can come and go; however, completely pulling out is interesting to me: San Man Band of Indians, Makita, etc. - where did they go? I'm curious if Factory Connection will shut down or go into minimal staffing. How many people work there? How many jobs lost? 2020 has sucked for people who work in the sports industry. Hourly and small salary workers. I watched videos about JGR and the Suzuki collapse.
Reading lots of the comments from when this was initially announced, geico shot themselves in the foot, so many people are switching insurance companies, personally motocross and Supercross is all I've ever known geico from, that whole extra sector they had to create, they're about to lose it and more
I have geico insurance, when I hear this I started looking for other insurance companies but damn I can't find anything less expensive.... Do you guys know what insurance company has better rates?
I hate insurance companies anyway all they do is take your money and figure out ways not to pay you when you really need it or give you very little when your property gets destroyed or damaged
Its such a bummer too because I felt like having "geico" with just the plain simple lettering with no logos or colors or anything gave the team a really clean look.
Honda's easiest solution would be to get another insurance so all the riders are going from geico to the new one so geico gets backfired and the new one might be appreciating that and wont do the same mistake when they dont make as much profit anymore but stay to keep the customers
I think we should consider the perspective from the sponsors side also. Aside from the business side of things , there is a personal element. Could be somebody just flat out doesn't like somebody in the upper level of the team. Most large companies have plans that include timestamps for re-evaluation of advertising dollars. The pandemic is changing business plans throughout motorsports. Just look at what happened in Formula One with the Ferrari/Vettel relationship. It's all about what have you done for me lately. I'd also be interested to know if Geico has had a change of management in their promotional department. It still sucks that they are leaving. On another subject, can you put some content up on the current state of local amateur motocross racing as compared to gate counts from the late 70's and early 80's. I raced in those days with 40 rider gates in every class, 80,100,125,250, Open A, B and C. It was amazing. Why do we now have such low turnout ? What can be done to get the counts back up?
BassGee idk man I just had surgery recently. And because it was an emergency they had no time to test me for covid they had to list me as a positive patient. That goes for everyone. Now just imagine if my surgery had complications and I passed away during operation. They would have listed me as a covid death. These numbers are inflated and that’s a big red flag.
I went with Geico instead of the cheaper E-surance just because of their involvement in sx/mx. I like Geico, but this kind of sucks. The root of the problem is the expense of the modern four stroke engines. This year at the Hurricane Mills National Tomac went through multiple motors. Perhaps a rule change, to stock heads and valve trains with stock ECU's might help the durability. Or the same motor must be used in practice and both Moto's, blow a motor and your day is over. Just thinking of ways to keep costs down, more power doesn't really mean better racing. I like to see and read about highly modified bikes as much as the next guy, but is it really worth killing the sport?
Seems like it’s time for me to drop “Government Employee Insurance Co.” I know a State Farm guy who rides. I suppose I’ll look into helping support him now.
Another thing to consider is the sport isn’t growing like it used to. Attendance is down at the amateur level compared to the 2000s. More needs to be done to get new riders into the sport. That will fix all of our money problems at the pro level.
Took my 5 year old to a local last year, little race. Sprinters loaded up with new husky and ktms, race gas and 600$ helmets. For 55 and 85 racers. Hard to run against with a ten year old 65. Wife and I make good money... makes me wonder about the future of it when its like this at lil okie. Can't even imagine Pala or gh.
EarthSurferUSA there is always good supply of used bikes for budget riders. All extreme sports are losing interest of the kids so that’s where we need AMA/FIM to focus on. Bike sales are on the rise since 2008 so I would say the sport probably is growing just not at the rate or at the level of pre-2008. Amateur race attendance data would be interesting to see.
It’s unfortunate. However, it’s just business. I wonder what the effort was from a management perspective to seek out new and additional sponsorships, instead of fully relying on Geico year in year out. Also, I would think a well established team like that one would be able to lure a replacement sponsor. They may have to cut back on personnel in the beginning but this team seems like too much of a staple to just dissolve entirely.
Look, it's normal, it's business. They already got the customers they were going to get, a this point another insurance company will look at it as an opportunity for them to come in and get exposure in front of a new audience and eventually the same thing will happen to them until Geico comes back.
Johnny you could go into more depth with sponsoring tax rules in US. We have sport sponsoring defined and taxed as charty( not taxed). So for big profitable companies it is sometimes useful to use the sport as a taxfree Atm. Ad busines is just small benefit nobody gives a damn for.
Not that it matters or will change anything, that news about settles weather or not I’ll be changing companies for bike insurance. I’ll be switching to progressive at the end of the 2020, it’s an extra $270 a year but the progressive plan will add right at $4,500 in protection (and payout), if something happens like (God forbid) my bike gets totaled or stolen. I probably would have stayed with Geico but since they dropped their MX support, I will reciprocate. 👍🏼 cheers.
It sucks but they also sponsor and support a lot of dirt bike related series and races. I'm not gonna jump ship just yet, it is a business and my insurance is pretty cheap. And no I'm not a Geico shill or anything.
I was trying to find a Circle K to fill up my car yesterday. Why? If they (Geico) were only paying 2 or 2.5 million a season, that is sooo Low baller money, and for an insurance company especially!!! I'm very shocked at this. I guess My Geico insurance isn't that special. Will be looking for new insurance. You realize riders drive trucks and cars, and have boats and houses and other toys. Who got taken for a ride? News at 11.
It just seems really wierd to choose insurance company just because they sponsor some dirtbike team. I try to see the risk coverage. Own risks. Premium amounts. Long term benefits....loyality programs.. .
$2M is just pocket change to Warren Buffet, owner of Geico. I do understand that sponsorships help fund people, but as a consumer, advertisements don't compel me to go out and buy stuff. Lastly, pro racing has been overly commercialized which has ruined the sport to a certain degree for me.
With the duck as the graphic 😂. I have a honda and its not insured I have never insured my bikes 🤷♂️ I did have them as my auto insurance but i moved to All-State.
If anything we should all just be happy because it's one of the longest running team/sponsor relationships ever- next to Monster Kawi..I mean, look at KTMs 250 team...they've had 4-5 major title sponsors just in the time that Geico was with Honda. Remember Jagermeister KTM? Lol. I don't understand why Red Bull didn't take over the 250 team like they do in Europe? I know they ran it in '13, '14 and '15, but it makes little sense to me why they'd stop. Honda needs to find an energy drink title sponsor
I kinda hope most Customers end their insurance with Geico as a F U to them for backing out of the sport. I’m sure it wouldn’t be enough to matter but it’s put Honda in a situation with only 3 months before A1.
If this is indeed how Geico does business w/ its "Partners", then its bad business and it will end up biting them in the ass. Maybe or maybe not from the motorcycle insurance market, but other potential partners down the road likely will hear about this story and how they dealt w/ Honda and not do business w/ them. Karma is a bitch!
NBA nfl and so on supporters need to come help supercross and motocross. Why you ask? Because they keep politics out of it they don’t cry like babies and kneel over stupid crap. They race and entertain!
Sssoooo who here knows that chase sexton dad owns geico? And also Christian Craig is his brother in law, well chase isn’t on small bikes and has a factory ride with RCH Honda now.... sssoooo no need to keep paying the way for his boy so drop the sponsorship
Why would you boycott Geico? They’ve been one of the longest standing title sponsors in the game. They’re not obligated to stay with FC forever and at the end of the day they supported the team for 10 years. So instead go and switch to a company that never sponsored a team? That makes sense. When Chevy trucks left kawi did you go buy a dodge? When Makita left Suzuki did you go buy a dewalt? That’s a good look for future sponsors hey if you don’t stay till end of time we’ll then fuck you. Lol they were good to the time for a long time.
@@seaeff6428 As a matter of fact I do switch to companies that support the moto industry. As everyone should. No they don't have to stick to teams forever, that is they're choice, but they should realize that when they leave the sport..we leave them.
They should not of pulled the plug, 500g for a little sticker would have been better than nothing when outside exposure is needed. Not one real motocross bike was ever on regular hour daytime geico commercials, that alone would have brought more people into the sport, in turn, buy the other shit plastered all over the bike, maybe stimulate new bike sales blah blah blah. Greed from both ends will ultimately kill all local tracks. Already hard enough with lawyers, and epa.

Progressive for me. 40 bucks a year to fully cover my kx, on top of my road king.
I AM CANCELING MY SHITTY GEICO Insurance. & NOW‼ Its Open Season on Gecko's🦎 HA HA HA. thnks 4 the latest info Hopper. Wick On ✊
Insurance companies are like casinos. No matter how much they lose, the house will always be ahead
Wow! That sucks! What happens to the riders? Will Honda pick up another sponsor in time?
Honda's easiest solution would be to get another insurance so all the riders are going from geico to the new one so geico gets backfired and the new one might be appreciating that and wont do the same mistake when they dont make as much profit anymore but stay to keep the customers
Progressive Honda!!!.....😅🤣😂
Make the sport cheaper and more accessible to a wider consumer base. Duh.
@Doug DeGrave 193,000 families with people dead due to this virus may differ on your ridiculous opinion that it is fake. Just stupidity.
@Doug DeGrave Everybody's gangster until their pap pap dies from that fake virus
@@jedimastergrogu3140 You're right bro. Even if you have comorbities they list it as a covid-19 death. Kinda messed up
I heard they wanted to cut Christian Craig, but his father-in-law and team owner Jeff Majkrzak wasn’t having it. He said if he goes the team goes.
Holeshot..........Braaaaaap......... love the content, honest as expected🤙
#Geicoinsurancelivesnolongermatter
I have 2 cars, my house and boat insured thru Geico only because they sponsored the sport.
I'm calling Progressive today!
I have no idea if it is possible but couldnt the 450 HRC team just make a 250 team?
Was paying $230 a year with LOWEST limits available with Geico. I got FULL coverage including uninsured motorists for $130 a year through All State.
Take over Geigo satured market with an other insuranfe cie that promote themself with a special discount off from switching Geico to their product
Its a damn shame. I always thought Geico was one of the good guys. Well jokes on us sucker.
For a great low price you can get online go to the general and save some time. General Honda 2021
HONDA go ask the general. Logo
I am canceling my Giaco..too that sucks what they did!!
Look, it's normal, it's business. They already got the customers they were going to get, a this point another insurance company will look at it as an opportunity for them to come in and get exposure in front of a new audience and eventually the same thing will happen to them until Geico comes back.
"I've got insider news, roi doesn't make sense for geico"
Well no shit
So why did they also stop sponsoring a Nascar team?
Johnny you could go into more depth with sponsoring tax rules in US. We have sport sponsoring defined and taxed as charty( not taxed). So for big profitable companies it is sometimes useful to use the sport as a taxfree Atm. Ad busines is just small benefit nobody gives a damn for.
Maybe they can still play a part as a smaller sponsor.
I just go with cheapest insurance
YA if I had a bike still and had Geigo insurance (never would anyway they are too expensive) I would be canceling for sure.
I though Geico was gonna start working with feld? Wich if true, is messed up.
Progressive Honda!
I did this like 7 years ago and went to StateFarm.
I had geico to support my Honda boys. Now I don’t have geico.
News at 11.
money ruins everything in the end. that and greed.
@@EarthSurferUSA what a dumb statement. Money is made up.
Why didn’t they make a deal wer they got more money each year? And their rates r to high anyway
Alot of dudes in the team must be expensive to run
I will cancel My Geico now!!
AMA is killing the sport too. No go pro what’s next.
When you hire all the retired pros and put them on salary along with the riders, you get an expensive indevor
I’m dropping my insurance! Wife too,
Bring beer back to moto😎🤙🏁
I cancelled my 3 policies the next day
And your surprised. I am not!
Aflac Honda would be fucking awesome 🤘🤘
I feel like dumping Geico.
Solution: cancel all Geico insurance. End of saturation.
U got it business is business, they don't care about mx or supercross it's about $$$$$$$$:we got u don't
Better not be another energy drink sponsor.
Need more sponsors outside the industry.
Geigo just committed business suicide with bikers.
It all boils down to Return on investment ROI for these sponsors...The ROI is no longer there...The sponsor is no longer there...
I am astounded that the Honda factory doesn't make enough money to sponsor the factory honda team, to sell MOTORCYCLES? Advertising write off?
Canceling my insurance as well
If this is indeed how Geico does business w/ its "Partners", then its bad business and it will end up biting them in the ass.
Go back to 2 stroke lot cheaper better
Abolish the FIM
Sssoooo who here knows that chase sexton dad owns geico? And also Christian Craig is his brother in law, well chase isn’t on small bikes and has a factory ride with RCH Honda now.... sssoooo no need to keep paying the way for his boy so drop the sponsorship
Canceling mine! Bye bye geico
Everyone cancel Geico. People have the power in this situation really, tons of insurance companies out there so lets boycott Geico.
Dustin Price so leave them for another company that’s never supported motocross at all? Makes sense.
@@seaeff6428 There will be another to fill the shoes and that will be the company i use
Dustin Price right. So when Coca Cola or Xfinity sponsors the team they’re going to write you a policy?
Interesting info... and it wasn't even 15 minutes long.
#defundthegeko
Geico pulling out because they’re not getting a return on their investment isn’t “corruption” you dope. That’s good business.
Yeah it would look like it until another insurance comes and and takes that business away, hopefully someone jumps on it.
Nah it’s business
Who owns Geico?.......hmmmmm
Farmers insurance Honda has a nice ring to it.
